कति खुशि लाग्छ। यी तस्ता गीतहरु थिए जो मनमा गुन्जि रहन्थे। स्थायी ओठ ले गुनगुनाउथे तर सर्जक हरुको नाम थाहा हुन्नथियो (गायकको नाम मन मा आउथ्यो तर कुन गीत कुन गायकले गाउनु भएको याद हुन्न थियो। झन गीतकार र सङीतकार हरुको नाम थाहा हुने कुरै भएन) । यस्ता गीतहरुले बाल्यकाल र टीन एजको याद दिलाउछ।

I got the privilege to watch Harish Mathema live in Dharan during the early 90s when i was maybe 12 years old. His live performance was so good, his vocal was exactly like how we heard on a radio. I remeber me and my brother waited all night to watch his song titled 'kehe sodhe timilai maile' during new year B.S. 2052, tyo bela Nepal TV matra authiyo tyo pani not 24 hours. New year ma chai raati 10 dekhi 12 bajey sammai nepali ra hindi music video haru dinthiyo. Arkai jamana thiyo tyo.

One of the very first generation of pop singers in Nepal. When I was a kid, his music was what made me feel that the future of modern Nepalese music was going in the right direction . That was like thirty years ago. And when I see the state of the current music scene in Nepal, there's so much more than what one would've anticipated in the past. Glory be to our music pioneers and also to the young talents who are taking our music to new heights. Be it playback singing for our fledgling movie industry, or our traditional folk songs or the more modern music like rock, hip-hop, rap, courtesy to western influences, I truly believe that it's the step in the right direction.
