HowBasicTo , turn to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and you WILL be a Christian. It is easy : Be sorry for your sins, repent and be Baptised. You will have the same inheritance of eternal life as each Christian has now.
My Mama and Papa's favorite Hymn, now with the Lord Himself and at the right hand of God they sing in the eternal chorus. I made some mistakes again this year, due to human weakness, I feel some shame, anger and other things I miss you Mom and Dad most of all this time of year.... God Bless Us All.. everyone..Tiny Tim

Absolutely joyful. He seems so enraptured in the hymn. As I said before absolutely joyful. And interesting, the tune was written by a man of the Jewish faith (Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn).
@@corenecipolletti2238He's not lost. He's having the most fun a treble can have: singing the descant! For me, it was always the favourite part of any carol service.
This song always brings tears to my eyes. It just reminds me of what Jesus Christ truly did for me (and the whole world) on the cross. I am a sinner and I deserve the lake of fire. But by Gods grace and the lambs precious blood on the cross I am saved.
I'm here because this is my favorite Christmas hymn and my favorite version ever. I also love the young man at 2:40. He looks like he is having the time of his life! Happy Birthday to our Lord and Savior
I am here, because like you this is my most favored Christmas hymn and carol. I just can't sing it because every time I try, I tear up so badly I can't even say a word. Peace on Earth. Good Will towards ALL men everywhere.
Wow. All under the baton of the great John Scott who, until his untimely death from a heart attack, was organist and choirmaster at St Thomas Episcopal Church in New York City. Prior to that, he served here at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. When he was contacted about the New York City job, he had one request of the Rector at the time…that he not be forced to “audition” or “compete”. The Rector took the contract out of his pocket for John to sign. Even as a Houstonian, I knew of his outstanding musicianship and worshipped any chance I got at St Thomas. Through coincidental scheduling, I was in NYC for his funeral at St Thomas. The congregation got to sing one hymn “Love Divine, All Loves Excelling” (Blaenwern) while the St Thomas Choir of Men and Boys handle the rest (along with a few alumni from that choir). A glorious service, touched with sadness. Note here, he conducts the congregation (the choir and orchestra know what to do…ha)
Yes..you get the impression that he really believes what he was singing...as I do when i sing it too....it's all about what King Jesus did for us because he loves us so very much, that He died on the cross, and rose again.! And one day He's coming back !!! Are we ready ?
This is the best version of Hark the Herald Angels Sing that I have heard,. It is performed the way it should be, with a pipe organ and orchestra. Thank you for posting this wonderful, meaningful Christmas song!
Jesus is King of all existence He is pure Love anyone who follows him closely will have Peace, even if we will atone for our sins. However He would not be found on the internet so no faithful worshiper would be found here; but endures in our Chapels.
Hark the Herald Angels sing is my favorite christmas song. This one really affected my causing goose bumps all three verses long, ecpecially the third one with that soprano, just colossal !!
John Scott died suddenly this August from heart failure. He leaves behind his second wife who was at the time pregnant with their first child. A tragic loss.
The real meaning of Christmas celebrating jesus christ as our blessed savior of the world, merry christmas to all who believe and pray for the ones who don't.
I remember singing this descant for the very first time as a little boy in my church choir and losing my mind on the "herald" semitone clash. It was like having my heart torn out (in a good way) I still get that feeling 30 years later whenever I hear it. Wilcocks arrangements will never be bettered imo.
Having visited this cathedral, I can imagine how amazing this would sound LIVE... I would have loved to have been in the midst of these voices singing of His coming. Merry Christmas!!
I'm here because I love to listen to Anglican choral music all year 'round, especially in Advent and at Christmastime, and because I love the Lord. "Conjuring" indeed!
Amen . God is so good towards us all . Imagine he wants everyone to be saved !. If you are not sure of you eternal.destination see here my friend ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lbb4xwYj19g.html .God bless
+Canmanpan1 Agreed, and for non-Christian and the non-religious, this performance can likewise demonstrate what we humans can accomplish when we work together.
+Hans Thorsen well no because the non religious includes te likes of hitler,'Mussolini, pot, stalin, sung, and any mass murderer in history pretty much , sorry thought id mention that.!
I so wish our congregation clapped in church! Its a great way to show appreciation and thankfulness! A blesséd Advent, and Happy Christmas, from Northern Ireland!
Gaggy Mott from what I hear you aren't supposed to applaud the choir however my parish does so anyway but I noticed they don't do that in traditional Latin Masses.
Praise the name of Jesus, my saviour, who went to the cross, died, buried and risen from the dead and asended to be with his heavenly father and who will return king of kings. Amen
This song was translated from English to classic Tamil by The Holy Bishop Robert Caldwell a missionary from England to Idayangudi a village in Tiruneveli District in South India. Thank you Lord for your son Robert Caldwell a great Bishop in our Indian Church history. The Bishop's contribution to our Tamil language is marvelous.
It doesn't matter which religion or spiritual you are, all that matters is humanity😇 which is taught in every religion or spiritual. Unfortunately most of us have forgotten or rather not followed, the almighty's love, truth, mercy, respect, loyalty, understanding, forgiveness and humanity to serve one another. let's try to be kind and helpful. That's the biggest love for God. ❤️ Beautiful devotional hymns/songs👍
Wrong, It does matter what religion you are, because when you choose sides, there are ALWAYS opposing views that cost something that's damaging. Religion is shit, stand together as HUMANS and we can unite better.
Meravigliosoooo!!!!!!!!!!! Fantastico l'Organo, fantastico il Coro, fantastica l'Orchestra e il Direttore, fantastica il pubblico... Tutto bellissimo!!! Sandro, from Italy.
+Michael Patterson He's looking for a promotion ;) Or maybe he's showing off for someone in the audience. Made me smile, for sure. But "J Russ", I seriously doubt they are "like little angels". I bet off the stage, they are your typical young boys, with all the trouble and misbehavior that automatically entails. Just because their parents got them to dress up and go sing for the choir doesn't mean they are automatically well behaved little angels. I mean, beyond the automatic innocence any child has....but most of them are getting to the age where they're getting near the cutoff point for that. Wherever that point may be....I always wondered about that. They say all children are sinless and will go to heaven, but exactly when does that expire? Does it depend of the kid? Is it sudden, or a transitional thing. Kind of interesting to think about.
The wonderful Charles Wesley. who else could put the gospel in its entirety in one song? Magnificent John! Given all the glory this wonderous song deserves!
Music by Felix Mendelssohn, a Jew, and one of the greatest composers who ever lived! Wesley only did the lyrics. It’s the music that makes this the greatest Christmas song ever written. Wesley borrowed the music from Mendelssohn and let’s all be glad that he do so, because the music is absolutely magnificent and exactly right for the lyrics.
It grieves me that there are 282 souls so dark and troubled that they could find fault in this magnificent performance and give it thumbs down. Pity them and pray for their deliverance from The Enemy.
If its like this on the church terestial, how glorious in the church celestial. Oh! how I long to join that choir above. Meantime I just cant stop praising Him here.
Wow! Such beautiful music in a beautiful setting. My favorite is the 3rd verse... Hail the heaven born Prince of Peace, Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, Risen with healing in His wings. Mild He lays His glory by, Born that man no more may die. Born to raise the sons of earth, Born to give them second birth...
An absolute masterpiece! This rendition is easily the best - the descant is perfect and the chubby cherub at 2:42 is transcendent - raptured. The final verse just pulls you out of your seat for the final ascension - oodles of power - unrivalled - really!!!
When I first visited London, I went to this church 8 times in two weeks! It is just overwhelming. The wooden model downstairs is simply awesome, and it is such a pity that they did not build it the way Wren wanted it to be built. Some Canadian tourist mocked my admiration for it. Although I have met some very nice Canadians, some of them (even grown adults) seem to be always waiting to hurt the feelings of an American. A friend of mine from Seattle said it's sort of "big brother vs. little brother."
I heard the angels singing this song in my dream out in the cloud this morning and I have never heard angels sing ever. It was emotional and the their voice was indescribable. I shall always praise the Lord Jesus in the assemble of the upright. Pls Turn to Jesus and he will heal your broken heart and He loves you beyond your imagination.
Oh my heavens i couldn't stop laughing - he really does - thanks for pointing out!!! What a marvelous kid - even funnier all those little boys are young men in their twenties now.
@@writeract2 They're in their thirties - if you pause at 1:45, the kid back right is Sir Alastair Cook, former England cricket captain, born 25 December 1984.
What an amazing rendition! You can't beat a cathedral full of people absolutely belting out some good carols. This is also the first time I've heard the descant and it's soooo good. Looking forward to doing some carolling this year :)
The Methodist revival inspired such beautiful hymns. This is just one of Charles Wesley's masterpiece. He would give the glory to God who is the source of all good things. Glory to the King of kings.
Samuel Sebastian Wesley, related to Charles and John, was an Anglican cathedral (Winchester ??) organist-choirmaster who wrote a great hymntune, "Aurelia," usually set with the words "The Church's one foundation...."
I agree. I was raised Catholic, but love hymns by Wesley, and have heard a couple of them used at Catholic masses because the spirit of them is totally "catholic". Many think that Wesley composed all of the music used for his hymns, but that isn't true. The music that we hear now was adapted from a work by Mendelssohn. My favorite setting for "O, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing" was composed by Thomas Jarman, a tailor. Also, the original music that Wesley used for "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing" was actually quite somber, not joyous.
