I bought one just cos I wanted to look at myself in a full length mirror with a V - don't play it much but love having it around - my HB SC550 deluxe (£180 used) is a genuinely good instrument - just wish this gear had been around in the mid 70s when I started

I want to buy this guitar, do you recommend it for purchase? And what can you say about the build quality?

I totally recommend it. The quality of the build is amazing for the price! It plays and feels great! I’m not 💯 in love with the pickups, but they sound really good for distorted tones.

Cool guitar i have one to changed the nut to brass and the neck now have scallop but it cant beat my Gibson flying v 1983 rock on

Tempted to get this thing, seems fair for the price...being short scale is nice, buuuuut the thicker neck...eh, I'd have to relearn to get used to a true Gibson neck style, I have a Gibson Flying V, but I seldom play it now as Ive moved on to thinner neck guitars (Fernandes, Vantage, King Vs). But again, how can you go wrong for $215.00, knowing you can upgrade the PUs and hardware for NOT much more dough.

The neck feels pretty close to a Gibson to me. It’s really nice for the price and plays well! Worth a shot if you’re looking for a V.

I just got the same exact guitar but mine doesn’t sound nearly as good as yours it sounds flat and really doesn’t chug or sound as distorted as my other guitars, I have a acoustic brand amp can that be the problem, did you change the pickups before playing or change the strings?

Hey! I did change the strings, but not the pickups. In the video I am playing through a Fractal FM3 (amp modeler) which sounds amazing! It's hard to complete with that. It definitely could be the amp you're using. Try it with a few different overdrive pedals if you can like a OCD, Tube Screamer, Distortion, RAT, etc... You should be able to get a nice chug sound.

I have that V, i had to lower the action n changed the tuning pegs. Pretty good guitar for the price tbh

Cool. Yeah. The tuners aren’t great! Haven’t changed them, but I may do that sometime.

I want a V so bad. There is an anime called "legend of black heaven" and it why I want one. I'm just learning and want to play more of a punk sound. I keep see people say that Vs aren't punk. So my question is can it punk?

It can definitely be a punk guitar! For a really specific sound you may need a specific pickup and overdrive pedal, but I say go for it! This is great guitar.

it's a staple guitar in Japanese crasher crust,a wanted one! Check out gism and their guitarist Randy Uchida (rip),he was the first to use it in that scene,and since then heavy metal sound is present in Japanese punk,and so is a flying V! You just need other noisegear for it

@@Petergriffin42704 well,theres many dirt pedals to choose from,best way is stacking them getting an eq pedal after them for extra (wanted) noise,so your best bet is any fuzz and as much od/distortion pedals you like. Some good examples are Boss MT-2 and HM-2,but i use an hm2 clone called Eyemaster by tc electronics (name and font basically tell you that you'll get that sweet entombed sound). Well gism is half metal half punk, basically all extreme japanese crust is influenced and has strong connections with metal. There's many small things that i learnt about their style that don't fit into a single comment but yeah, here's some tips.
