The difference is obvious but not values 600$ price difference, HB very good for budget

Yeah, I got the pick ups in the pick guard and it does sound a lot better now I’m just waiting for the back plate that I ordered

Just because a guitar costs more doesn’t mean it’s always going to be better. That being said you would expect it to be the better guitar. Jackson, Ibanez, Harley Benton, Firefly to name a few, all make some really nice budget guitars that play and sound amazing. I have some of those brands, I have this very Harley Benton and I love the way it feels, plays and sounds.

Thanks man! Yeah it’s definitely a fun guitar to play and sounds surprisingly good. I need to check out some of the other brand’s lower end models that you mentioned.

@@JakeLeighGuitar Check out Guitar Max, he has demo’ed a lot of budget guitars that are worth looking into. The Kramer Barretta is one. Depending on the color it’s $178 - $199. Eart is another that he’s demo’ed . Dean has the Vendetta XMT w/Floyd Rose for $199, just to name a few more guitars, but as usual some guitars fall under the purview of a parent company. For example my Epiphone Les Paul, it actually has Les Paul on the head stock plus the original Gibson book headstock.

I've got two HB guitars, one 35 plus and one Big tone. Love them both. Got a Gibson and a fender as well but I tend to end up playing one of the HBs. Mainly the 35 plus. People allways say that the HBs are good guitars for the money. I would say they are good guitars, period.

Nice review. I have Fenders and HB's along with some other Strat/Tele shaped objects. The comparison is fun to do and in most cases I find the playability the "issue". Not bad in most cases just different. Firefly I have had no luck with as they are just not worth the time. Could be the ones I got..... My next project(s) are to make some changes to them and see where I land.

My friend just gave me his Harley Benton guitar. I have Rickenbacker’s, Fenders, Gibsons and even copy guitars. This Harley did need setting up, but once done. I’d take it on stage or into the studio. It’s cheap. But it sounds, plays and feels better than the other guys in the bands guitars that they paid $3,500 for. 🎉 cheers.

I just got my first Harley Benton, their EX-76 (lefthanded model) and I am blown away by how amazing it is. I mean my god why the hell would I ever buy a Gibson, Fender etc when I can buy a Harley Benton, do a few mods and bam a stage worthy guitar for a small fraction of the price. Never looking back

Until you play an American Fender or a nice Gibson you will never know how much better they are. I own a few Harley Bentons and a Gibson and an American strat and I can tell you there is no comparison!

@@andrea4809 I've played my fair share of Gibsons (Not so much Fender) and yes they are very good guitars.....for 1000's of dollars. Sure Bentons don't play nearly as good straight from the factory, but that's nothing good modding cant fix. Ive spent around 500-600$ and modded the hell out of the Benton and its now my favorite guitar. I'd say a Gibson Custom Shop is still a little nicer but not for how much more it costs. Im fine with my 800$ Custom Benton that will blow any guitar of that price point out of the water.

As someone who used to gig with a Gibson LP custom, I agree that nothing really compares to them... But the constant paranoia over it getting wrecked or stolen was too much! Save gigging with expensive guitars until you can afford to employ a roadie 😂

I got a lot of mods. I got an Alnico 2 in Chrome in the bridge to alnico fives in the middle and the neck and a fender bridge, locking tuners and a blue and yellow pick guard and back plate

I think the Fender sounds way cleaner and sharp, but at the same time I prefer the warm and mellow sound of the Harley

the single coils were pretty different, but the humbuckers were practically identical

To me, the Fender always sounds harsh. This potentially could be helpful to help cut through the mix with a full band but strangely I still prefer the Harley.

I’m a lefty and I have the Harley Benton and I’m getting ready for an upgrade. I’m waiting for a blue and yellow pit guard. I’m changing the pick ups and the wiring it sounds OK. I just want little bit hotter.

its open the world to guitar, to new customer like me, i had bought a bass, i will a electro acoustic, and electric. All win, even Fender and other , because when i will have experient , maybe i will want a fender etc

The HB sounds better, honestly. The amaranthe fretboard has some really good snap to it, while ebony is known for sounding glassy. I think the sound difference has more to do with the hardware and wood in this case than the pickups themselves.

Great review mate. I had loads of high end gear years ago and sold the lot for drugs, now I'm getting back into it (6years clean). I have to many bills to afford a high end so Harley Benton it defo is after this review. What it says on the headstock is not important at all really. If you think a lot of the Father's of rock started on cheap copy's and did em up. Great review cheers again.

I wish these reviews would just tell it like it is, $199-$300 is never going to buy you a nice guitar period. The differance is with a USA fender you wont have to fight it to play.

In my world Fender in particular but many other "Big" brands is way to expensive, I own only Harley Benton guitars, 21 to be exact and 4 basses,..so far and i am very pleased with them, i am also not a pro guitarist, i concider myself a Rookie on guitars, but it is fun,..Been temped to by a Squier or a Fender but when tried many models ina musicstore i don´t get justification enough to pay that extra,...Jake you know i am a big fan of you and ya´channel, Thank you once again for a great episode with good content 🧡🎸🙏Love cheers

The thing I'm loving about the Harley Benton guitar in this review is that I'm not hearing a 600$ difference in sound. Now, how it feels in your hand is a completely different story. I've played "cheap" guitars that FEEL cheap so would hope that isn't the case with the harley bentons

Did u switch out the pick guard on the -fender player hss- or is that Not the same Ferrai limited mexico 1?

Yeah I switched it out for a parchment colour one with the volume pot in a slightly different place. Just trying it out. Still love the look with the black pickguard too.

It's weird some people say that hb is better, but I guess they are just beginners looking for guitar to start and it's fine. For sure it's great for the price, but it's completly different, you can't really compare these instruments with each other. Anyway great video and playing.

HB is brighter sounding. Not an 700 pound or $ difference IMO. I was a profi drummer, and what I got with better drums was better workmanship and the drums could handle the road, lots of gigs, and the bus, with different roadies dropping drums, on load in load out. Maybe a fender will last longer and sound good longer??

what matters to me is the how chunky the fret wire is. apparently a classic basic bitch strat with big fat frets is too much to ask in 2023 lmao

If you can play guitar, it didn't sound like it matters which guitar! Beginners, intermediates should definitely wait sinking $$$$$$$ till they get oretty good, even then why buy the name brand? Gibson, fender is Way OVERPRICED.

This is a joke. He had it coming all setup. I had 4 Harley Bentons, including this one, and absolutely unplayable out of the box. They all needed a fret level job. This particular one had 11 uneven frets, so impossible to play it low action. The HB's all come with a bowed neck, to mask all the high frets. I dare you all. I made video's on my channel to prove it.

Biggest problem you’re gonna face is getting up on stage with something that says hardly betting on the headstock the owner of the club probably never gonna have you back regardless of how great you sound you could be Stevie Ray Vaughan he wouldn’t have you back

Zuckerberg makes 10 billion a year and his employees 200 thousand maybe...are they slave labor? It is relative. Plus Fender is jacking up the price because of its brand , and still has 20 dollar an hour workers.Seems a lower price instrument helps the working poor in US and A afford to play music. Cheers to you that you can support the millionaire Fender family!
