I am loving this bigsby type trem on this Telecaster but it does have its problems!! I have sorted it since but only time will tell if it will last. Anyway its all good fun and the audience thought it was funny!! HAHA! Is it worth getting a real one?
Fairplay, that’s actually a cool way to do it because I’ve seen people cut notches into the bridge and it didn’t look to smokey, I think the bigger holes look tidy
Really enjoyed the clip of you and your band! You're one hell of a player brother! It's nice to see a guitar RU-vidr strut his stuff on stage instead of it all in the bedroom.
Great job opening those holes up. Throw some thread locker on the trem arm bolt, tighten the nut up and let it rest a bit. Then string it up and rock n roll.
Just ordered a chigsby today after watching your first video....Then saw there was a second part. If it's a disaster then it will not be an expensive one at least. Loving your channel, keep rockin' dude!
Now I'm not one to say I told you so lol! You dealt with it well sir. Sound check/venue vlogs are a good watch. It's the real world of the gigging muso. More of the same please.
@@BrentHutchinson I can only speak for myself, but yeah, I like to watch that kind of stuff. Behind the scenes is something most of us bedroom players never get to experience. Hope your channel takes off for you this year. You're too good a player to be playing toilet gigs forever. By the way, did you know that The Fizz (formally Bucks Fizz) have nicked your album title?
Something that is "bread and butter" for the Guitarmaster - to fix / modify and easily solve !!!! Many thanks for filming and sharing as always M8ty. ...... M&MX / Mark T X
Hi, Brent! I've been "following" your channel, on and off, for a longer bit of time, now. Your videos made me consider buying a Harley Benton, especially the Black Paisley videos. Although I currently own a five-string PJ version bass of theirs. I really did enjoy what you did with the first ST DIY kit, in which you used the shou sugi ban technique for the first time! Sorry for the experience you've had with the body from the second ST kit! Also, loved what you did with the tele! Sorry for your experience with the Chigsby! You now do officially have another happy and subscribed follower! Wishing you all the best! Keep up the good work!
Nice job! For what it's worth, I watched a video about a simular situation on Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar tech fixed( not with Bigsby of course) but it involved him putting " heat shrink" on the bottom of strings where it seemed to bind on his Strats.Stevie was breaking strings like crazy and his famous tech came up with trick and it stopped the problem.I wish I could tell you where to find this on You Tube but it was rather devisive!
Omg I'm having trouble trying to clamp my bigsby shut it's like my seventh or eightth try. I built three current bigsby originals and two grey skies and and epi all bigsby. Don't give u mate. Btw I believe u need Burt's chapstick mate. But ur good son golden.
To be very honest I thought it worked amazingly well. I was very impressed with the tuning stability. A bit of engineering and very little money will easily sort this out long term, get some threadlock, you don't need more than a few drops so if you know someone who works in a fabricating workshop. Bobs your uncle mate Great video.
@@BrentHutchinson true, true, I start most of my video editing at 6:30am to give me a couple of hours before running to work! Btw, the live playing you've uploaded to facebook is pretty good quality, you could easily upload each song to RU-vid as extra vids!
@@BrentHutchinson: I have a similar type trem I removed from one of those Epiphone Les Pauls I bought except it's much naffer, the previous owner had installed it without removing the original tailstop & not having a baseplate to match the curve of the arch top I removed it as soon as I got it home. I then had to make a plate to replace where it was mounted to hide the screw holes, it does the same thing as yours but it's just pressed steel construction like an Original Jedson Teisco Tremolo Vibrato Tailpiece Unit.
I hit the subscribe button and it asked me if I wanted to unsubscribe? Do I click yes???... I play floyde roses so I’m used to playing with a droop on lol, you’ll get used to it 🤣
Have you ever thought of trying a "Wigsby"? It's a similar type of trem but made by Wilkinson. I've looked but nowhere ever seems to have them in stock.
