I test rode a 114 and bought a 103 - very similar to this one actually. For me I prefer the look of the bigger tank and slightly more retro look. I found the 114 had a tiny (and I mean tiny!) bit less soul. Both great bikes though and great vid guys.
ALways harley , nothing can replace a harley ? was there nothing i missed? was there a 3rd non-harley in this video ? were they both harleys that were being compared? im confused with you commment
The 114 has more power but all around the 103 is more beautiful. Bigger gas tank, nicer speedometer, it just looks more aggresive, reminds me of the bike Mickey Rourke rode in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man! Great video by the way!
Gotta 2016 Breakout 103 with screamin eagle big bore stage 4 kit.. vans heinz pipes like the ones on that 114...air ride suspension and a chopped rear fender with solo seat...love this bike so much I hardley ride my road king anymore...
The 103 is key fob too. Plus the 103 feels heavier because it has more rake then the 114 thats why the 114 handles better in corners. My opinion on sound is what pipes you go with. My opinion they are both nicw bikes. But I would go with the 103. Because of more rake bigger tank and i realky dont like the look of the new head covers. But thats my opinion
They are both sooooo... gorgeous! I keep changing my mind. First I want the 103...then, nope! Got to have the 114...then....Actually, I think I would just flip a coin.
I really think the M-8's don't sound great. They sound good but, the old Evo engines sound the best in my opinion, and I am saying this as a guy who's never owned a Evo, and just bought a brand new Softail Standard with the 107 M8.
I ride the 103 2017 in denim white and I have the best time on her, she has longer forks , VH pipes etc. anyway she's a solid ride and comfortable for hours on end x
I’d take either. But the M8 is the motor that got me into a Harley. That is a really great engine. I’ve had 3 already. 114 fatbob, 135 road glide, and finally a 117 low rider. Great motor
Just started getting into bikes. Just got my license & looking for a bike. Always wanted a sport bike maybe a ninja 300 to start. But man these bikes are absolutely stunning…
Thanks for the information mate and I got the light just wondering did you install them by you self because rear ones looks bit more harder than what I thought. Thanks again. Regards Dylan
@@harleyhawk7959 I happen to own both and can say that side by side my yamaha is a better machine than my Harley...... nothing wrong with my Harley, just the Yamaha is a better machine from a mechanical and engineering perspective... that being what it may be, there is a certain feeling that comes from riding a piece of American culture and this is why I ride my Harley more. because it feels good. I never have to explain why my Harley is so Amazing to anyone, they just know 🙂, when you ride a Yamaha it's Badass it's just not a Harley. Image, Nostalgia, supporting American brands all that plays into it. Nostalgia= H/D Engineering = Yamaha
103 for the win : ) But i`m biased, I have a 103. BTW the 103 is also key less and you can literally walk up to it and start it and walk away and its immobilized.
Nice sound but, it's a shame the old cammed evo sound cant be matched even though these have much more hp.There is still a bit of a stock exhaust flutter sound.Takes so much $ & upgrades to make them roar.
my 2012 fatboy 103 sounds just like the breakout 103. the 2013 cvo 110 breakout would walk all over that 114. the m8 for me doesnt have the heart that the 103 or the 110 have. both engines have their faults, the twin cam has the primary chain compensator that comes apart (breaks). the m8 has issues with the crankshaft. (both do). if i wanted to ride with a 3.5 gallon tank, i'd buy a honda for half the price. i buy harley for the 5 gallon tank. i average 38 mpg, and that doesnt get you very fay on 3.5 gallons. small tanks are good for bar hopping, but not good for long trips. just my opinion.
@@RPM-wd9rb yes, i cruise the interstate at 70 to 90 plus mph with ease. this 103 will do 100mph and not complain. it has been 100mph with my gf and I out riding. what rpm is it running? dont know, i dont worry about rpms.
Those pipes are reversed on the M8 breakout. The pipe/shield with the V&H logo is supposed to go on top. If you flip em the seams between the header section and rest of the pipe will close up nice and tight 🙂
Hey mate both bikes are awesome just wondering whats the brand of the lights you have installed on 114 they look amazing and where can I buy those after market lights from. Thanks
@@brandonpiedra1384 Hello ! Nice bikes ! I have a 114 breakout, but I want to change the lights. Can you give me a link where can i buy that lights? Thanks!
So I have a 2015 breakout with a stage 1 at 85 horse power with 103 torque with the V&H pipes and heavy breather. I'm able to get about 200 miles on non ethanol gas with ethanol only 160 and feels like a small lack in power so I don't use that gas and would not recommend it. I have never had any issues with the 103 runs like a champ also great decell pop that I love that's makes it slightly louder and will maybe prevent a potential accident
Of course a little favoritism on the 114 , but sounded good , personally I got the 2013 103 with the chrome v&h’ sand almost same air breather , but mine has been bored out , high performance top and bottom end
Always wondered why people with the smaller engine (103) chose to increase the size of the motor instead of buying the bike with the bigger motor (110) in the first place.
The new 2023 Breakout fixes everything. Bigger tank, power, better looking wheels, TC mode and more chrome what Harley should be. 117 should be the standard. These are nice bikes tho.
Both look great on the right side, but not so on the left.. when will harley ever re-engineer that primary pan, and overall neglected left side of their bikes
