This is a video of me spacing out a spool wheel to Harley 39mm front fork. Maybe there's some helpful nuggets or info to help you out on your own project. Thanks for checking it out.

Thanks, guys, for the info. That riser/bar combo looks right and tight on that 4 over fork! That Evo chop is gonna be boss!

Hey man this video saved me money and time. Got a springer recently and couldn't find anywhere that told you where to space the rim from... Also the "it's close enough for a chopper" made me give it a whirl. I can throttle lock the bike at 65 and take my hands of the bars so I say she tracks true enough... Keep up the videos man some of us garage builders are winging it and I'm dumb as hell

I'm not trying to tell you what to do but to catch parts like that in the lathe I stick a piece of filler rod in the tail stock chuck and slide that into your part and it's a nice auto catch

Great looking build. May I ask where the seat came from? I'm looking for that same exact type of seat.

What size is that wheel?

Is the rear pretty much the same?

No not at all. You have a rear brake caliper mount to consider etc. On the rear wheel you use the back bone center line of the frame, and the center line of your tire (you may need to measure to find center of the tire also mark it using a piece of tape and marker once you find it.) use a string line wrapped around neck of frame, draw string down center of back bone to center of tire. The axel must be on and tighten snug not tight and the wheel/tire should be allowed to float from side to side freely. Be sure axel is square in the axel plates so your measurements count and are accurate. Once you center wheel/tire to backbone you can then measure the sprocket side distance between bearing in wheel and inside of axel plate. Make a spacer that length and install. Now do the same for the brake side except you’re going to need to factor in the thickness of the caliper bracket using simple addition subtraction and division. The important thing on the brake side is to insure that the brake caliper is center with the brake rotor/disc. The brake side will need a total of 2 spacers. Wheel bearing to caliper bracket spacer and also caliper bracket to axel plate spacer. Hope that helps. Also never use the center from axel plate to axel plate because frames are usually offset and that won’t be an accurate measurement. Always find center by using frame backbone to center of tire. I may do a video on this in the future. Maybe.

Sadly it’s quite a bit more work. I’ll be doing a video soon where we do Derek’a rear wheel.
