I'm new to the Harley-Davidson Road Glide world..... I love my new 2024..... I watch a lot of your videos along with others...... I've been on a GoldWing for years and still have the both.... but I love the Harley-Davidson thang....lol... I do videos too..... and I met you at the 1st Traveling Tall.... I was the 1 on the F6B with the car ture on it...... I'll be heading to NOVA SCOTIA in 3 week I need that seat bad..... but I think I'm going to ride it anyway..... great info.... I love the channel
Been watching your vids Slappy.. liking your view on the Harley, I bought my first Harley in October 2023 - Fast Johnnie Road Glide… (like the new rap you have from Blu Chez)
I only use the American elites been using them for 20 plus years zero issues. John you’re right hot as balls today road from just north of Boston to Laconia and back the humidity sucked.
When you get up to Wisconsin, if you have time. Check out Holy Hill, The Harley Silo and drive up the Mississippi river you won't regret it. When I upgrade my radio, it will be with Tim's.
I totally agree with you brother, the heat and humidity in my area ( Westport, MA ) has been brutal the past week or so. Black Jack is looking awesome 🤘🏻💯!! Harley-Davidson of Rochester NH is an awesome dealership!! Great customer service and great staff!! I talked to a Saddleman representative at Laconia Harley during bike week, and he told me that they don't make much for my bike ( 2002 Fat Boy ) they told me to check out mustang seats, which was weird lol. But I do need a new seat. Just need a good Gopro and then I'll be able to make some cool videos lol. Awesome stuff John and great video!! Keep up the great work and ride safe brother 🤘🏻💯
glad your enjoying your bike! I was going to trade my 21 ultra limited in for the newer model but the trade ins are crappy right now so ill be staying with my bike and just upgrade it more as i want to add new things
Stay the course big dog! What I love about bikes…other than riding…is all the tinkering and mods. That’s why I watch your channel! Can’t wait to see the final product…and watching you get there, regardless of how long it takes.
I guess thrashin is sponsoring you? Must be nice. I’ve thrown everything you have on and then some on my 24. Modified the original handlebars to fit the new wires though because they hadn’t released the new bars
To your point and speaking on the Cardo, that doesn't guarantee that the CarPlay will work. Mine when down when I was on a 2500 mile trip. Have a back up plan but be patient, the bugs will get worked out. My back-up plan was my phone on the handlebars
Just got my 24 RG 2weeks ago. Traded my 23 lowrider ST. Been having trouble with playing music going in and out no matter if it’s the radio or Bluetooth. Did the update but it’s still doing it so it’s going to dealer next week. Put my TAB zombies on yesterday and sounds great. Other than the radio issue love the bike.
Really cool review. Love everything you've done so far. Ttim is a genius. Stay cool, brother this heat is brutal. See ya in the next episode. As always, I'm rootin fer ya!
I had 3,000 miles on my commander 3's and had some brutal vibration in them (diagnosed by Harley Tech). Contacted Michelin and they sent me a new set of Commander 3's. Put 4,700 miles on tires and had same vibration. Had Harley check all wheel bearings, neck bearings, and they diagnosed it being the tires again... Roughly 2,500 miles on Dunlop American Elites NO ISSUES at all. Just my experience.
I enjoy your videos. I've owned 8 Harleys: 2005 Night Train, 2016 Fat Boy S, 2017 Street Glide special, 2020 Low Rider S, 2021 Road King special, 2021 Road Glide special, 2023 Low Rider S, 2024 Road Glide. I've enjoyed all of them. The Harleys I've owned served a particular purpose as to what type of riding I wanted at that time. I've owned 8 Ducatis from Naked to Sport touring and have concluded that you can't compare certain brands. With my experience to me Harley Davidson has no true competitors. I believe that the 2024 Road Glide is a solid multi-purpose motorcycle, with that being said you do need above average degree of skill becauseit'sa big bike. The 23 Low Rider S is also a great multi-purpose motorcycle leaning more towards manuverability and compromising in touring comfort, requiring a little less skill than the Road Glide needs. Looking towards your new customization. Check out my customized 24 Road Glide. I went all Harley Davidson parts this time except for my S&S 2 into 1. 😁.
Looking forward to the big road trip, and I'm not even going lol, I couldn't find that hill assist part from that guys website, but Harley sells the same part for the same price on their website "Vehicle Hold Control Upgrade Kit" much easier, since it needs a flash ✌️
Great video John. I ordered a saddleman road sofa for my 2023 streetglide cvo. Also next wk I am getting new 10" meat hook bars on. Never put on new bars on any of my bikes. Time to check it out. Everyone I've talked to that has them swear by them. So hopefully they are right. Cheers terry from 🇨🇦
@CYCLEFANATIX John question for u. I've ordered a sofa saddleman seat, and I should be here in a few wks. My question to is sense u have one is when u ride in the rain with it, do u ride with the cover it comes with on or not as I hear the seat isn't water proof at all. Or is the cover just to use it when parked in the rain? What do u do?. Cheers terry from Canada 🇨🇦
Just starting the video but hope you get into some components. I assume we’re dealing with a throttlebody/manifold situation that similar to previous years. Therefore leaving the only solution being a big bore kit clutch basket work and lots of air for the engine. Keep the videos coming because we’re all writing for our speeder bikes… George Lucas and musk are going to make them for HD… just like Buell but better
Good stuff! Getting ideas for my eventual 24/25 RG. I'm rockin a taller KW windshield on the 17 SG. It looks great, but the nature of the bat wing gives me turbulence despite the wind skimming over my helmet. Having demo'd the 24 RG, the factory deflector seemed ok for the whole five minutes. I like the still air bubble, but at 6'3" am undecided how tall I should go. You nailed it with the SE Stage 1. That's all I've ever done to my last few bikes. Just a little more pep & bark, staying reliable. Shiny side up & be safe.
Just under 6000 miles on my 24 road glide. Had a crank seal go around 3500 miles, rear tire and barrings changed for free under warranty at 5k service. They didn’t know why they wore so fast. My gps thinks I’m In Canada and the dealer told me they had no fix. I got the plug for CarPlay from Tim, works excellent. Other than that it’s a beast. I got bassani 2-1 and a screamin eagle tune.
I only run Michelin tires on my cars and only run Michelin on my motorcycles. I had to commander twos before the threes come out didn’t have any problem with the twos now I haven’t had any problems with the threes will never run Dunlops as long as I live.
Just ran into your buddy Nidal at the Mobil station on Rt. #36 in West Long Brach, NJ. Thought he was riding Holy Shift’s Grey Ghost but, it was different bike….same color, real nice guy.
My turn over no start issue was a crank sensor tune that was supposed to be installed before the sale of the bike. Apparently that didn’t happen. After the tune there have been no issues
I'm taking a cross-country trip about the same time as you. Heading to New England from Ohio with my oldest daughter for the first week, then out west with my youngest daughter for the rest of July. Can you please make a video of what you're taking and how you're packing it? Thanks!! Love the channel!
I did pretty much the same changes you did, the only thing that annoys me is a clicking feedback on the clutch lever once in a while! Some say it’s a normal thing! Anyway! Love the 2024 RG and the must upgrade were the seat, windshield, stage I and speaker Stage II
Wow, can’t believe you said that, I know what you mean I feel the same way there’s like a little click when you pull it in. I will have to look into that or try to do some research and see if we could somehow eliminate that.
I only run Michelin tires on my cars and only run Michelin on my motorcycles. I had to commander twos before the threes come out didn’t have any problem with the twos now I haven’t had any problems with the threes will never run Dunlops as long as I live. I am a suspension technology fan
Jersey City here...agree about the weather and the humidity. Almost makes me wanna pack up to Arizona! What's your oil preference? I've been using Castrol for the past few years with great results. Considering Amsoil for the Road King just because.
Yup get the clear bigger windshield for the trip brother you will thank yourself later !! Bike looks great gonna be a great trip watching with interest!! Peace!!
Hey John, Love Your videos! Learn so much from You much appreciated 😉 BTW, how often do you change your engine oil and filter? I was told by a Rep at a Harley dealer that it needs to be changed every 2,500! Thank You 😎
Thanks, that's what I saw also. But the finance guy still insisted every 2,500 miles it needs a Major service, even after showing him the maintenance schedule!
Apple requiring a mic for carplay is annoying. I understand the reasoning behind it, but its still dumb and should be an option for MC manufacturers to disable.
Love and look forward to all your content. Quick question. I too bought a 2024 Roadglide and I love it. I wear a modular full face helmet with a cardo. Using apple carplay is no problem. But. When I ride with my HOG chapter we all communicate with the cardos. It seems the new bikes can’t do both. I either talk with my buddies, or I connect to CarPlay. Is there a solution to this? Keep up the good work
Stuart, I have a 23 CVO Road Glide. Make sure to only have your phone connected via Bluetooth to the bike. Then make sure only your bike is connected to the Cardo. You lose the option to use the voice activation of Siri, but you can use the voice command button on the handlebars to activate it. When you try to have your phone and bike both connected to the Cardo, they fight over the connection. Hope this helps!
Had vibration out of the front tire on C3 it was a problem with molds from what I was told went through 2 and brand new causing vibration and just done away with them all together
I had the exact same issue with them as did many others. Loved Michellin tires (C2) and ran them for years but was disappointed with the C3 front. I hope they fixed the molds.
Same here. As soon as they’re worn out they’re gone. It’s not so much a vibration as it seems like a buzz😂. I can feel it through the handlebars. When they’re worn like I said they’re history!
Please let us know about the tires. I almost bought the Commander III's but the American Elites had a pretty good rebate in place. So that is the route I went this time. So far I am happy with them but I haven't ridden in the hard rain yet.
Congratulations on your Road Glide and your plan for an 11,000-mile motorcycle trip! That's going to be amazing, and I'll definitely follow all the videos! I have a question since I'm very interested in the 2024 Road Glide. Why did you choose the chrome version instead of the black engine? Is it a matter of taste or maintenance? I've had several Harleys, and I found maintaining the chrome quite challenging before and after each ride... What are your thoughts on this? Thank you very much 🙏
Yeah, I think the black and chrome is just timeless. Looks beautiful whether it’s now or in 30 years, and I feel differently. I feel as long as you’re on top of all of the chrome it will always look great.
@@CYCLEFANATIX absolutly. Chrome will Never die for sure. I suppose you also applied the ceramic protection on the chrome parts. I've never used it on my previous motorcycles, but I think it's worth trying to make cleaning easier and to give the bike an overall shinier look.
I rode a the new CVO ST The black Raven. It was fun to ride but I'm looking into buying the bike you got. Sucks no Android auto. So the Harley new tires are no good?
I'm not far from you NY/NJ border near Montvale and it is nasty swamp ass hot. Does the bike audio have to be apple car play? If you or anyone you know has an android cell phone try to pair it using "android auto" to see if it works like you want. I like apple but too many accessories and options are proprietary which i don't like. There's a lot more options with android.
