Sheer magic. Never tire of watching this. Loved my 48, now have a 1999 Dyna Wide Glide. I'm tall so needed the bigger bike. Thanks for posting this Aaron.
It's weird that in your twenties, when you have most of your life ahead of you, you ride with reckless abandon but in your sixties, with most of your life behind you, you slow down to protect what little life you have left. Crazy! Yes, thirty years ago I would have called this cool. Today, having seen on too many occasions how quickly tragedy can change life for a mother, father and others left behind, I'm more incline to call it foolish, selfish and irresponsible.
Who says I'm 56 and any can run straight fast I run that speed with a crew of friends 120 + on every run side by side tight with front end always in my parrefrial 2011Road King with 21" apes dropped 1"1/2 in the rear 114hp 125 Torq sporting a 585 cam dirty birds 2 into 1 lmf. I'll push the Ortegas on my '06 Mean Streak even harder when I'm home from the oil field. Oh yeah maybe I'll see you at the track I ride a 2000 CR 500 2 stroke. RFTC.....Ride Fast Take Chances (top speed 157 with a passenger)cute young wanted more. Not hate'n just say'n.
Man basic video but I loved it, the minute you pulled onto the highway and started speeding past traffic gave me the same kick and smile I get when im on my cbr Gotta love that chase, keep riding bro
DAMN! 62 yr. old scooter tramp here. Didn’t know a 48 would run like that. Usually I wanna hear the bike, but the soundtrack was a perfect fit. Thumbs up!
@@kingaustin169 Specifically the Sportster is the most reliable HD. Another thing in life which proves if you ain't got it..you can't buy it. The $9800 Sportster is mechanically superior to the over-hyped Softtail. Much like looks or intelligence. All the bench pressing bruh or butt hair shaving in the world won't attain it.
Very cool ! I've never taken the time to log in and comment on anybody's stuff before. I'm on my way to my H-D Dealer to get a Vance & Hines Duke Air Filter Kit and I came across your video. I already have the Short Shots. Drive safe :)
yup, you can so tell this isn't Canada, i wish we had those kinds of roads, try that up here and all the bumps will send you flying around your seat. looks like fun, very jealous of the cali weather / roads!
Great video, thanks for posting up. Sooo, yesterday at the International Motorcycle show we were able to ride just about every Harley in the stable including a v-rod, dyna of every flavor baggers etc. You know what the hands down most fun for the buck bike was, that's right the Forty Eight! just a pure fun bike to not only loo at, but to ride.
back in 1960 I got my 49 WLR HD 45 up to 80mph(down hill with a tail wind). It was vibrating so bad, had the damper cranked down but hard to keep it under control. Sold it and later bought a 66 honda cb450 It was stable and smooth at 105mph. Evidently newer HDs are more stable. Like this video. Things happen fast at 120 My 85 yamaha radian would do 125 but I am to old for much that. Good that traffic cooperated.
Somehow came across your video while looking at ride videos. Thinking of getting my M class license, my boss makes it look like too much fun. Hope your doing well.
Jeez ever since this bike came out I want to get me the forty eight. When I finish college I'm gonna get me one of those for sure ! Please be so kind and put more vids of riding this bike on youtube, sir ! Greetings from Vienna. Sincerely, a future H.D. Forty-Eight Rider !
I know it's been a little while. I was 8 when this comment was first posted!!! Did you get the bike ?? I'm 17 now looking to get an iron 1200 or a 48 :)
NB 15 man I haven't been home in a year stuck in williston ND oilfields thanks for the fix though you have a new subscrber. Ride tight and never break ranks.
Today was 95 mph going south was amazed it felt like little wind. On the way back at 60 mph felt like 150 mph. Insane wind. 10 mile ride felt like a 30 minute full on upper body work out lol. Great video.
I've ridden bikes for over 20 years, and only a few times have I ridden faster than 200mph on the highway. I've escaped death a dozen times going less than 50 mph... So when you're riding fast, and keep going faster, shit happens MUCH more quickly. I considered myself more lucky than smart back then, but that luck made me smarter... I didn't die from my recklessness. All I'm saying is: The shit driving around you on the roads is bigger, heavier and clumsier than you. If someone in a car or big rig fucks up, they are taking you and everything around you with it. I saw a dude riding just like this not long ago, he passed me on the highway doing without a doubt 100+mph A mile down the road he wound up inside and around an 18 wheelers axles. He looked like spaghetti. Dead... Ride safe out there, or end up like spaghetti :)
+StyrbjornStarke There are safer ways and places to ride fast. I usually know what I'm going to do but I never know what the moron in the cage up ahead is going to do. I'd also be worried about troopers if it were me.
Instantaneous subscription. Perhaps one of my all time favorite vids on RU-vid brother. Well done! You caught his ass, and the music was choice was second to none. I'm in!
The Dyna was not even trying with that 103 and a 6th gear unlike the 48 1200 sportster with only 5 gears. I was thinking about getting the 48 just for its looks but im going with the street bob. Cool video by the way stay safe out there.
Can't wait for the last 3 feet of snow to melt then is May 1st and ready to try out my new Screaming eagle 103 upgrade on my Street Glide over her in BC, CA. Very cool video Aaron. Cool music to go with it. time to get a Go Pro.
Lot of people don't realize that the newer Sportsters (meaning the last 5 model years) have about the same horsepower as the new big twins...ask anyone that runs a dyno for Harleys...stock 96" big twins average 68 hp...stock Sportster is around 60 hp...103" around 70 hp...newer 1200 Sportsters with Stage 1 average 75 hp...torque is much higher on big twins tho...
YES. ITS A VERY SOLID AND STABLE BIKE. ITS SEAT SITS LOW AND THE SPORTSTERS LOW CENTER OF GRAVITY MAKES IT PRETTY STABLE. THE FAT FRONT TIRE ALSO IMPROVES HANDLING QUITE NOTICEABLY. I THINK THIS IS A GREAT ALL IN ONE BIKE FOR SOMONE WHO NEEDS AN "IN TOWN" TRANSPORTATION BIKE. IT'S NOT A DISTANCE BIKE WITH ITS 2.1 PEANUT TANK BUT GREAT EVERY DAY USES.
That's how you ride your sporty. Ride it like you stole it, never look back, and keep the shiny side up. I haul ass on my Hammer performance 1250 sporty.
thought it looked familiar.. then bam clinton keith! hell yeah! makes me want a 48 even more now! and awesome tunes btw screw these internet trolls and their opinions.. they forget this is your video not theirs!
Hey Buddy nice HD-48 there, Which Exhaust pipes you got? And I love this video I watch it almost everyday and I'll try to comment everyday too. Not just having a Harley, You too have skills! And I know CBR people they know the stuff like lane splitting, Wheelies & burnouts! Am planning to buy a HD 48 too but not sure about Exhaust. Help me with Exhaust. Thanks and again Nice Video mate!
Those handle bars are pretty sick bro. Pipes sound amazing too. You have to do a walk around with those pipes and showcase your bike. Holy shit man that speed is crazy up on a sportster, i can't wait to hook mines up. Awesome video!
I have a Canadian spec 48 (lots of weird differences). Is your speedo in MPH and if so, what does the speedo max out at? 120mph? My 48 speedo tops out at 220km/h. I love this!
I randomly came across this video again, and 3 years later my 48 is a weapon. I haven't had a chance to top it out yet but it's making North of 100hp and I lightened it up significantly, and gave it a bit more top end with the change in sprocket sizes. The bike is wild and super fun to ride!
Knew this had to be Cali, nowhere else would cages not try to run you off the road for filtering like that, haha. Sign at the beginning confirmed -_-. Good fun!
nice runinn' , but I don't push my lil 48 that hard. Like the idea of the RSands bars...def. need something to get outta that hunch position. It's alright for short time ridin' but any length I get a bit weary....nice vid dude...very nice ridin'..~
Veo el video una y otra vez y no me canso de verlo, sera por el bip de la canción o por que en verdad me gustan las harleys. Good video men, and where was the police ? 🚔🚔🚔
Finally swapped the cam chain for gear drive in my 99 fxdwg 88" in. Also got the stainless 2-1 exhaust and mikuni carb. Before, i maxxed out at 118-122 now at 122 i have 500 rpm left. The vibration at that speed makes things a bit blurry..
NOT A PROBLEM. I AM LOOKING TO GET DIFFERENT BARS (GOING FOR A DIFFERENT LOOK) BUT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN THESE MAYBE WE COULD WORK SOMETHING OUT AND SAVE YOU SOME MONEY. JUST LET ME KNOW.
