Hey Mr. Terry, hot( not scorching) soapy water & aluminum foil. Loosely mash foil in a ball. Try that & see how it does to clean chrome. Then hit it with chrome polish to coat it from moisture.

make sure you use 0000 steel wool, won't scratch chrome.
