Ride a bike for 24 hours. Sounds pretty simple, but there’s a whole lot of resilience needed on the part of the riders as well as the machine involved. That didn’t slow the Harley-Davidson boys at Hero MotoCorp even a little bit. They already took the Pan America to the highest dirt road in the world. And they decided, naturally, that maximum distance in 24 hours was the logical way to welcome the new Sportster S to India. Hero’s Global Centre for Innovation & Technology at Jaipur, the R&D centre had the oval track required to do the 24-hour test and a plan was hatched. The riders would be Vijay Thomas from Harley, Malo Le Masson from Hero, racer and Indian custom motorcycle legend Vijay Singh, car racer and Harley rider Anushriya Gulati and our own Shumi. Then had to ride. Here’s what happened next.
The Harley-Davidson Sportster S is equipped with a 121hp, 125Nm 1252cc V-Twin engine mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
