As A Welshman and loved and raced grass track and speedway always loved America flat track , I have too say what a pure piece of America artwork, I remember seeing this X-R 750 flat tracker in a magazine and fell in love with it then and this is the improved version , absolutely beautiful 👍
Oh come on, admit it. You have a thing for motorcycles with no brakes. I absolutely love your speedway racing! Love it over here in southern California too. But you guy's really get hauling on those longer tracks.
Ive always loved that series since first seeing them this custom is beautiful. A work of out, if I was a rich man I'd buy it and drag it out to Australia. Thank you guys
I'm not normally a Harley guy, but man that's a beautiful motorcycle. It fits you perfectly, Ken, I think you need to keep it for yourself and enjoy it..
Man . This is AWESOME. Would love to have this in collection. These types of Harleys are basically it for me in terms of Harleys. Im a streetbike rider til the day i die. I need one of these man.
i got nostalgia chills when i heard that awesome exhaust note... you just want to lay into it as hard as you can and hold it as long as you can till you run out of fuel... then at that point you simply coast to a stop. get off the bike and just walk straight up into heaven lol. but seriously. the look and the sound took me back to those suspense filled afternoons as a kid anxiously waiting for Evel Knievel to NAIL his latest jump!!! awesome bike. awesome memories. nice shop you have. i really appreciate all the vintage bikes you keep moving on to their next happy owners. Well said, man. This is a bike that takes a guy back like a time machine. Summer evenings at the hot shoe. Have you seen that new Indian FJR 1200 Street Tracker? Pretty ba bike, too. Especially for a new bike.
Man you win the internet hands down !! Your bikes are awesome, but seriously this is the Sweetest I've seen on your channel 👌 Cheers and Beers 🍻 From Australia
Beauty! Looks like a real motorcycle should. Used that same seat on my race bike in the early 80's. Rear tire sure looks small these days but it's the right size to pitch it in and get slideways. The simple dirt track style has never really been tried on new street bikes, but it's much better looking than the wierd angular styling they're pushing.
Thank God somebody besides me not only likes sportsters but still gets excited by them. I know they are supposed to be "girls bikes" but I have yet to see many women from that era kick start those sportsters. However I just love twin cylinder motorcycles period!!
Oh Man, all this Bike needs is a Hammer Performance Big Bore Kit and Heads, it would have the Performance to match its looks. Absolutely Beautiful! Always wanted to do one of these with the STORZ Kits Sr mentioned.
Well, you could ask Aaron or hammer Dan but they don't do iron heads. Strictly evolution. And yes they are the best when it comes to sportster performance. My profile pic speaks volumes about hammer performance. Hell they even use the picture as a pop up ad on the xlforum.
A couple of things: that motor needs 4-5/8" flywheels and some compression, there wasn't ever an '80 XLCH. The reason '79 Sportsters had that goofy rear exhaust was to accommodate a kickstarter (Hence XLCH) and a rear brake m/c. By '80 they abandoned the need for a kickstarter and chose to have a "normal looking rear exhaust.
That is one gorgeous and fast bike that I would love to ride. Cool old guy! I bet you meet many nice people at the motorcycle shows you go too. Enjoy your Sunday and be safe. ML&R.
I loved these Bikes, and had the pleasure of racing against Pat Mahoney on Lucifers Hammer, on my 500cc short-stroke Norton, his Bike went flying past me and sounded great, even though he had trouble completely drowning out my open meggas, beautiful bikes.
Beautiful bike. Really looks like a early iron xr. But did you really say that the front brake is better than what came on a real xr? Just so you know, those early xr 750 flat trackers did not have brakes. So I guess in a sense you are correct. Lol!
That rear brake problem, just for thought two times already a custom panhead and dyna glide. Had to unbolt caliber leaving line connected space brake pads make sure caliber is lower than master cylinder manually bleed air out . I'm 46 had many dirt bikes yz's rm kdx xr's dr ts's the 01 all black buell lightning x1 cone air cleaner straight 4inch stainless cut pipe i try do things rite clean and safe lol I'm in PA Emmaus .love your channel great people hope to visit in near future take care
Great video man done it excellent job of explaining stuff the guy that built it was really engineering and having exactly what he known in mind how he knowed ever how he knows everything he wanted to do to look like everything please forgive me I can't talk and I'm sorry sounds great when you went up and down the road with it nice and loud love it have a great day
The maker of the exhaust he refers to, I think is John Penner? I bought a set from Sportyparts in California some years back for a KHK tracker bike. Unfortunally I believe John Penner died after a car accident... So I don't think they are produced anymore.
I hate seeing bikes as beautiful as this. Something I’ll never be able to own but always dream about. Well, at least I’m happy for the owner and if he happens to Park and leave the keys in it well I might just take her for a spin…
KAPLAN AMERICA . . . I've always loved the old 750's, but this one is way cooler! Would love to have one if I had the cash, and speaking of cash, can u tell us what u dished out for this baby, or is that a trade secret?? Okay, thanks in advance! :)
It's a great looking bike. Too bad H-D never produced an XR 900. They produced the XR 750, XR 1000 and much later the XR 1200 X. The bike you see here is actually an XLR900. It maybe in an XR 750 frame, Lawwill frame or Knight frame.
