No sure. Just bought this bike off my friend. First chopper. I do know that the entire top end was just rebuilt. I plan on making more videos this December on the tear down of everything but the motor. Going to be cleaning up the frame and everything else on it. It’s a good looking bike but it looks tired. Converted to rear disc brake since, no front. Stay tuned more videos to come, but first work. Dammit.
@@projectcarl2706 pop a 48t sprocket on there if its already got a disc, my old one had a 52t stock and i switched it to 48t and it was much smoother. couldnt catch me to about 80 lol
Great vid and nice bike, I have a 74 Kickstart in the UK and I am about to convert to electric start because my Sciatica is playing up! I will also re-shim the transmission this winter as this for me is a concern on these motors, I run a Buell cv carb on it with an adapter which runs well, Love that old-school chop look you have.
Mines a 75. I need to put the kick start back on. Great to have as a back up. My plans are to run a narrow springer front end. More vids around beginning of next year on the year down and rebuild.
@@danielpatterson2254 Sounds good, I am going to collect a 1974 XLH electric start with an S&S stroker motor in it tomorrow and I will swap the motors this week.
I don’t know the brand or where it came from. When I picked up the bike it was already on it. It’s not a horse shoe and has a built in oil filter adapter. Have never seen another one like it. I tried image search but still couldn’t find a match.
No fork stop. Currently it’s the tank. It’s how I got it. Tank is dented where the top tree hits. This December I’ll be taking apart the bike and redoing a lot of it. Keeping it a chopper, just cleaning it all up. Stay tuned I’ll keep my progress updated here.
Man I sure wish my 68 ran like that. Gonna try another carb here soon. After changing everything including new top end coil ,points ,plugs, wires , still cant get the thing to not sputter over around 45 -50 mph. Tried all timing variations and jet combos. Its driving me nuts. Running a cv40 gonna try a bendix a neighbor gave me.
Yup a 75. Different at first, used it now. It’s my main bike. And when go to another bike to ride it takes a mile or two to get used to left shift again.
