HELLOOOO Indian this is my first ride on a 2024 Indian Scout Rogue. Its also my first ride on an Indian period and I have to say it was a good one. I enjoyed this bike. Alot of you asked how it compared to the Sportster S and I give a litter feedback about how I think these 2 bikes should be treated in comparison to each other.
If you live in NE Florida and want to test out a few these bikes check out. Twistedroad.com and Riders-share.com to schedule a ride.

Man it’s good !! Quick too. So it’s enjoyable with a modern level of speed ! Now a days 100hp on a heavier machine is about a standard

They are good man. This was the first Indian I have ever ridden and I think it was good. From the guys that worked there. They are using victory designs on the modern Indians instead of self competing they are essentially blending what they feel is the best of both.

Nice video. 1/4 mile for both bikes are actually quite close. Sportster S just has no curb appeal. Just my 2 cents.

@@NostalgicMotorcycles Yeah the Sportster S has a badass modern futurist look that I seriously appreciate. Cruisers have looked the same for 50 years practically, especially Harley Davidsons. To have the Sposter S come in and finally mix things up is great!

Indian is a far better bike for much cheaper. Harley is gouging customers for years and now finally there is a better option. Here in Canada Harleys are around 25-40% more in price for a worse bike.

@NostalgicMotorcycles I changed my read shocks to the Fox adjustable, changed exhaust, air intake and tuned it. Still far cheaper then the harley comparison. My bike rips now. Tons and tons of fun. I wouldn't take it on long trips but awesome for around town or couple hour burns.

The new Scouts debut April 24. Meanwhile I have one and I can give you two absolute necessary upgrades; an LED headlight and some aftermarket rear shocks, such as Progressive 444s. I suggest you roll those two into the purchase. Indian makes piggyback shocks for about $1000 but I think the aftermarket ones are better. Be careful on aftermarket exhausts as these Scouts get real loud. Consider using a 1 inch hole saw to cut out the first baffles in the stock pipes. You can see that on a RU-vid video. You can go from there.
@NostalgicMotorcycles

Dude awesome feedback ! I actually use progressive springs in my magna and they are solid for sure ! Obviously different bike but I know the brand. And loud isn’t a problem for me 😜😜

I bought a used 21 Scout ABS with 1300 miles on it and so far have put about 3k on it and here's my take. If money is no object, disregard and do what you want. Otherwise listen up: Test ride multiple times before making your decision. If the bike fits as is, great. I preferred the classic version over the Rogue or Bobber. For most riders, they need to make a few mods. to get it "right". I personally would never pay over 10K for a Scout unless all my requirements have already been done. I'm 6 ft. 220lb. and my first long Texas backroads ride had me hating this bike and wanting to sell it. The rear shocks/seat were terrible.( I only test rode it maybe 5 miles) Mine had the "fastback" type seat with the stupid metal bracket that hits the tailbone. Here's what I've done that now makes my 9995.00 bike a 13k bike. LOL 1 - Memphis Shades / Gauntlet and Road Warrior fairing 2 - Progressive 444 rear shocks - 3 turns in on pre load 3 - Extended reach oem black handlebars 4 - Barnett Clutch cable 5 - Kuryakyn Mini floor boards 6 - Extended reach seat / just installed Mustang MEE saddle 7 - Indian LED headlight 8 - Custom Dynamics LED black turn signals 9 - Vans grips 10 - Dean Speed forward control bracket - on order 11 Dean Speed 22" sissy bar - on order / for extra 12 - Bassani 3" slip ons 13 - Indian upgraded air intake / ECU reflash 14 - Joker Machine bar end mirrors/levers I honestly went from hating this bike due to the stock shocks (yes I adjusted the preloads) and the seat. Now that I've spend a few thousand dollars to "get it right", I couldn't imagine paying retail of 13-15K and doing all these upgrades. That's why my recommendation would be to buy used. The Scouts are not complicated with electronics and are pretty reliable and there a lots of them on the used market.

Thank you ! That’s awesome feedback for a larger rider in a smaller bike. 2 things. A larger cruiser for you might have saved that for you but 2 I would say regardless of the price you pay most stock bikes are not perfect for most people as everyone prefers different things and are sized/shaped different. But again awesome feedback I would not be able to provide as don’t have extensive miles on the bike nor is it mine to modify. What would you think about a segment where I talk about what I personally would change to have the bike fit me better ?

Good review video! I feel like you didn’t really ring it out, with a red line around 8k, it really wakes up after 3300 rpm. It is a screamer! I agree on the RPM gauge, it should be standard (but is available). I agree on the comparison to the Sportster S. When your riding position is that different, it feels different before you even get into the engine capability. It will be interesting to see if Indian addresses that with a sporty package with mid controls or rear sets with the new Scout.
@NostalgicMotorcycles
@NostalgicMotorcycles 3 месяца назад
It’s a brand new bike I can say I did not fully ring it out as the bike is not even fully broken in but I did get to full throttle and revd it to about 7k so I was close. Thank you very much for the feedback I’m glad you enjoyed it !! Seriously means a lot. I do not think the new scout will compare still. Honeslty aside from being short the sportster S has a neo cafe esc vib (I know it’s not) but it really doesn’t check the cruiser box like the scout does. The scout it more comfortable over time and can be dressed a little better for longer rides. I feel as the SS is like a muscle cruiser more about power than comfort.

Haha well I own a sportster S so that can speak for itself. I am different though as I enjoy the speed aspect over the comfort cruiser. If your looking for a faster bike it’s sportster s, if your looking for a more comfortable bike the scout takes it for sure. I love the term muscle cruiser. Vmax, vrod. More power focused less comfort. That’s more along the line of my interest over a standard cruiser. Now Having only 1 of the 2 options no other bikes. I think the scout is the better all arounder to take those miles. It’s a better single bike. The sportster s makes sense when you own it with other bikes. I have a comfortable long distance cruiser in the form of my Magna. So the scout would be having 2 bikes that serve the same purpose. The sportster for me is the faster play cruiser for short fun rides. The magna pounds the miles.

@@NostalgicMotorcycles What it boils down to is California tax. Polaris doesn't want to pay the EPA/California tax for licensing with tunes and performance parts. It's r#tarded how a single state basically controls the entire country with emissions. As far as I know, even Harley isn't selling tune licensing anymore on their new bikes, because of the tax. This crap needs to stop. Companies and the people need to stand up and tell government to F off.
