0:25 Pry off the front mesh
0:49 Remove these front mesh rubber mounts
1:21 Gently pull the front apart from the back (wires attached)
1:26 Unplug the power and speaker cords from the panel
1:36 Loosen these screws
2:00 Remove the battery cover
2:05 Remove the original battery
2:08 Install the Cameron Sino battery
2:16 Install the battery cover and tighten these screws
2:36 Plug the power and speaker cords
2:44 Install the front and back part
2:54 Tighten these screws
3:16 Install these front mesh rubber mounts
3:28 Install the front mesh

I want to thank the person that made this video I just replaced my battery watch this video before you try to replace yours I cracked a small chip out of my speaker because you’re only taking off the mesh front face of the speaker it’s so simple it may seem complicated but it’s not the little tour they give you just put it between the groove of the mesh I accidentally pulled off the Robert part but fortunately I didn’t break anything and my daughter help me which was a huge help

Hello. Can anybody help me? What has changed in firmware updates to Harman Kardon onyx studio 4? firmware changelog. Thinking about bass. sound quality. how the speaker goes into standby mode. batteti charging. If any of that has been changed? Does anyone have any information or a youtube video?

This is a very straightforward fix that frankly shouldn't be necessary. I've had my HK Onyx Studio 4 for less than two years and the battery won't even last 45 on medium-low volume with undemanding music. Pathetic. A hallmark of HK speakers is that they sound incredible and have rubbishy battery life. Why would a speaker this big have only a 3,000-mah battery? Anyway, thanks for the video. The battery replacement on the Studio 4 is identical to that on the 3.

@@Diploman7 I think the connector might be different, but I'm not sure. The capacities are definitely not the same. The 3 is 2600 mAh, I believe, while the 4 is 3000.

Thanks for posting this! One minor thing the video didn't make clear is when reassembling- right after attaching the wires make sure the rubber ring with the buttons is in place before reattaching the back. It's impossible to do once they're screwed together. And I agree with what others have said- I like the overall quality of this speaker, but holy man the battery is ridiculously small! No wonder a charge only lasts about 45 minutes.

Since day 1 this thing cut off after about 10 minutes (full volume), I just use it as a wired speaker, battery sucks.

I just replaced mine. F'n nightmare. Took my dumbazz 5 hrs. Lol that rubber seal sux it won't stay. The bottom won't snap in. It works tho.

It was easy. I just did it. Go right above the mesh with a flathead screwdriver and it should lift. I went halfway around and was able to take it off.

mines is sounding a bit distorted now, could it be because the wires are hitting the subwoofer? Ive disassembled it 3 times and its still showing low signs of distortion, especailly after pluging it in.

I had the issue once. Remove the Bluetooth device from the computer and add it back again. Worked for me.

My speaker works in the morning but later on my music stops. I don’t know if it’s the Wifi or my phone but something’s going on with my speaker. My mom told me that the speakers are both the same so if I could’ve kept my speaker plugged in it wouldn’t be stopping.

I replaced mine but wasn't paying attention during reassembly and connected the black plug to the white receptacle and plugged the cord in and got nothing. After disassembly once more, I discovered my mistake and corrected it. Plugged it back up and still got nothing. Did I fry it by reversing the black & white connectors??

@@allansaunders3648 There aren't any meaningful upgrades, highest possible is like 3000 mAh which is not that much. There are several options however. ANSMANN makes a 3.7VDC 7800 mAh battery, but it has 2 leads (would have to find a matching thermistor for the 3rd pin on the speaker) and also might be a bit tight fit inside the speaker and would likely change acoustics a bit due to the different shape. Another less intrusive option is maybe to find a 19VDC powerbank or a normal power bank with a 5V to 19V converter to plug in the charging port, making it essentially a powerbank for the speaker. Overall kinda shitty and expensive solutions, sucks that they didn't put a bigger battery considering space is not the problem. Likely it was to cut costs and they did not consider improving the battery life from 1hr to 2 hours would've done more sales.

Man this speaker is the best. My tiny battery lasted 6 yrs before I installed a new 3600mah battery today as a matter of fact. I abused this speaker so much and it still bumps. I even t Dropped it in the salt river and it floated about 300 yards and it still works. Dropped a thousand times. Great quality

@@jacob5791 NOPE ... actually it was the DC wall charger 🔌 I bought the HK at goodwill LOL it did not have wall charger ... so I plugged it into wife’s foot massager ... and it worked since I bought it 6 months ago ... I bought original wall charger eBay ... plugged it in working like new ... if battery was to not work ... I would gladly buy battery as I paid $25 for speaker ✌🏿
