Great Video , I remember working on these units. I never thought that they would get cheaper and cheaper every decade. From real steel and brass to junky plastic. Good Job buddy !
Wow a 1 hour+ video! nice. 😇 Erratic tape counter is very common in '80s decks. If the counter is the mechanical type, it would have small plastic gears ... with age, they can break or slip on their shafts causing erratic rotation.
@@norcal715 Glad you found that and sorted it and luckily no broken or cracked gears. Dirt and/or a bit of sticky grease is also a problem in counter assemblies as it can jam the reset button causing the counter to stop rotating. That only leaves the faulty level meters but a great job all-round. Your customer should now be able to play some of his old tapes on it. 👍
