Harman / Ilford seem like a cool company to even attempt this.. and being totally transparent about its shortcomings as well. They're doing everything right it seems, I wish them all the success tbh.
I'm glad I watched this, I was ready to give up on Phoenix, but your advice of shooting at 100 ISO and under developing by 30 seconds prompted me to put a roll in my Pentax ME-F and do a shoot at our local allotments. Taking your advice worked wonders, 36 out of 38 useable shots and the other two were camera failures not the film. I've ordered some 120 to try in my Yashica 635. So thank you, my faith in Phoenix has been restored.
The pull processing makes an absolutely huge difference doesn't it? I'm delighted that it helped you get results you like. Good luck with the 120 roll :)
33:33 but what if I do want to hear about molar extinction coefficients and the like xD although I'm probably one of the few who are also diving into the theory of similar things myself (mostly the b&w side for now....the developing, the sensitising dyes, the formation of the silver halide crystals in the emulsion...etc) I might also be more of a physical chemist rather than an organic one
