This is a simple run of the harmonic minor bebop octatonic scale (1 2 b3 4 5 b6 b7 7 8) that is relative with the major bebop scale (1 2 3 4 5 #5 6 7 8) in the key of C major / A minor .
The idea is to descend the scale from 1st string to 6th and choose between 7 or b7 of the harmonic minor to achieve an altered sound that helps to create jazz lines on subdominant, dominant ,secondary dominant and root chord families.
