Yes, ANOTHER Psytrance Bass tutorial on RU-vid :O
This one is more theoretical and hopefully will inspire some interesting sound design adventures, I wouldn't apply all these steps to every project, but knowing the theory will help you make better choices in the future. Enjoy

Love how intricately theoretical sounddesign can get in Psy Trance. Thanks for these tuts!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The tutorials you put out are stellar. 👌 Your ways of deconstructing and offering alternatives in sound design have helped me develop my own sound quite a lot.! 🙌🔗

For Serum users, you can replicate this by drawing partials but, if you got a crazy table, you can use the spectral subtraction options in the wavetable editor to achieve similar results.

Thank goodness for FL Studio and Harmor, the best additive synth ever. I’ve been using techniques like this for years, but I’ve always fallen short with post processing, and mastering in general.

Very cool! I cheat and parallel route a given channel through three other inserts on my mixer and then EQ only the Low/Mid/High on each track respectively. Route them all through another channel and compress 🙌🎶 The finite control is very enticing in your method though. 😮 Thanks for sharing!

Since you switched to the lewitt mic i find that your speak is slightly distorted ? Maybe it's a tad to close to you and the membrane is distorted 🤔

This is called additive synthesis, especially if you take what you're doing further towards its logical conclusion. That is, controlling each partial with an amp envelope. Or you can have not so many "partials", but also give each one a pitch envelope. It can make any sound that can undergo a Fourier transform. It's easiest to set up if your goal is a strong clean sound, i.e. fewer and simpler individual partial envelopes. On the surface, your technique might seem more like multiband processing, but it's actually much more akin to additive synthesis, or possibly additive resynthesis, depending on how that wavetable in Vital was made. It's not a very publicized form of synthesis right now, so good on you for showing a way people can experiment with it using a free software instrument. BTW I have no problem with the video title. I think if you put "additive synthesis", then some people might think it's too esoteric, just because of the name, even though they'd have no problem actually doing what you show. So yeah, I'm not trying to get you to change the title, or anything like that. Just giving an area for people to explore further, if they like the technique in this video. I don't make videos on the topic, so I'm not self-promoting either. People can search the topic on their own.

Who is out here thinkin additive is esoteric? It's one of the big synthesis types.

Crazy amount of work for a pretty simple sound but i guess this does give you a lot more control. Youve done quite the deep dive into vital. Ive been making a lot of bassses recently but still have only scratched the surface .

1:47 @dashglitch (or anybody else for that matter) can you direct me to a site or maybe video explaining this part of vital a bit more in detail ? This part is not so clear to me what it's function is and how to use and implement it in my sounddesigning.
