1. With a shower curtain, you have the ability to pull Psycho pranks on your roommate. 2. It'd be funny if the crew digitally added Godzilla approaching the ship, or maybe add a cursed ghost pirate ship like in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Or maybe you could find a way to hack your neighboring cabin's screen and have Jason (from the Friday the 13th movies) standing on their digital balcony.
Wow.I had a virtual balcony on my last thanksgiving cruise onboard the Navigator of the seas.It is the best for inside rooms!and i am the first to comment!!!!
There is a tiny remote (palm sized) for the virtual. Has an on/off and a volume switch. There is also a virtual view category where the monitor isn't floor to ceiling. I just use a business card for the power - left sea pass in cabin too many times. Best reason for getting a wowband.
I think I would try a virtual balcony. I always avoided inside cabins. I know people that totally lost track of time with no light coming into their inside cabin. An option to turn on sound of waves, etc would be cool.
We just got back from the NCL breakaway our first cruise with a balcony now my mom says she's never cruising without a balcony again .....or a drink package .I loved the balkony
Very nice "remote control"! The virtual balcony kind of reminds me of the front of the ship channel on the tv (and the one you can check online, if you're not on that cruise)!!
Impressive! I would rather have that virtual balcony if I ever get an inside cabin again because not knowing what time of day it is when you wake up makes it feel strange. Still no fart ventilation with this however 😳
So for that meet and greet in Orlando at City Walk.. I think I posted a comment on your FB about cost of parking issue for guests. I believe it was $20 last time we went there. Don't change location for me as I'm not sure if I can come.
I am gearing up to go cruising again with my Keto group (years have been wasted in school now ha ha!) and am considering a virtual balcony to save $ while still getting a balcony experience. Thanks for the great review, Morgan! Love from Canada.
Remote control...I'm impressed with the size of the cabin. From what I can remember, most inside cabins didn't have the desk and sofa area. Pretty sweet setup!
Great video. We had this type of cabin on the Quantum but this one seems bigger. Our bed was not to the side, it was face on with the front door and screen on the side wall where your desk is, which I think made it look smaller. I like the layout you are in, seems much nicer.
Yes, i´ll sail in Norwegain´s Fiords and Baltic Sea next july on MSC Margnifica, and i will return in the Caribben´s sea next january in Harmony of the Seas and MSC Seaside. I love cruises. I´ve traveled yet on the ships Costa Fortuna (South America), Allure of The Seas (Caribe), Anthem of the Seas (Mediterranean Sea), MSC Splendida (South America), MSC Preziosa (South America) and MSC Musica (South America).
Nice room tour. Morgan, is that virtual screen the same as a LCD TV screen? If so, that's quite impressive and costly to put together I would imagine. I would be more worried about accidents happening with that screen.
Very nice interior cabin. I have a Junior Suite for my Dec.10 cruise on deck 14 . I love the virtual balcony. The virtual balcony at night time is it all black or do you actually see anything?? can't wait to see more videos..
very informative video as always Morgan... I am definitely a budget cruiser and was wondering if the virtual balconies were worth it..Thanks!! Glad to see you are having a ball on your cruise...remote control...lol
6:25 I would think it's because it's easier to throw out or launder (if made of fabric) a shower curtain than to clean the glass as I'm sure it gets pretty cruddy very quickly, not to mention scratches and breakage.
We were lucky enough to stay in the Presidential suite. It was amazing, and super nice when you have a family of 8 and you're traveling with another family of 5. (No we didnt all stay in the presidential suite xD) One of my favorite cruise ships so far.
OH wow! As much as I travel I have never seen the card in the switch for power! Do you put your sea pass in there? I have not seen the rounded beds. I talked to a lady who cruised and had that rounded bed and she hated it. Thanks for the video! I might do that once I reach Diamond Plus. Long time, though, since I am only Platinum!
finaly someone mentioned about crap bathrooms curtain.god I hate them to!also i agree so much with you about the design for cruise ships and rooms etc.we have been on NCL epic to!May '15!
Άννα Μπούση OMG! Curtains are my biggest pet peeve!! But they need to put warming lights in the bathrooms also. I’m tired of freezing coming out of the shower
Im curious, for people prone to sea sickness if that virtual view would be just enough to help them kind of settle with being able to "see" the motion still? Hmm. Especially anyone who might not think to bring Gravol. We had lots just in case since we werent sure. But i do wonder if that would be just enough to help someone feel settled.
What do you think are really the differences between the virtual balcony and an ocean view with one of the larger portholes? We usually get a balcony, but we think the best thing about an inside is the darkness for sleeping/napping.
Morgan - are you paying any type of supplemental fee as a single person occupying a room designed for two people? Or have the cruise lines gotten away from charging those types of fees?
You make no sense. A curtain is more confining than a see thru glass. Curtain will also wrap around you in the small shower area. In your case it would smother you and choke the life from you! :P SMH!
dada97 I know it doesn't make sense. I can see thru my plastic shower curtain. If the shower is big enough I can close door. I leave the shower door open in small showers. Crazy doesn't have to make sense, I just prefer curtains. On the other hand, I think that you could properly clean a glass door better than curtains😊
Hi Morgan. Have you ever stayed in an inside cabin (without the virtual balcony) and used the "forward cam" channel to judge weather, daylight etc.? How does this compare?
+KT Z I have stayed in an inside cabin, but using the TV is not really comparable. I loved how I could close the curtains and leave it on to let just a little bit of light come thru in the mornings, and it's HUGE. Using the TV is also nice, but kind of different. Know what I mean?
That would be incorrect. The cameras are stationed on each side of the ship including stern and bow so rooms that face those directions see exactly what regular balconies facing the same direction would see.
Vid Vlogger actually your not educated... this video was made on November 16, 2016! Which means the Allure of the seas has not got its extensions according to you since you said the ship got an extension on February 2017... burned🔥 sorry I just had to say that
I got useful tip from ship crew when i was on Princess cruise last year: when you get sea sick, eat one or more apples with crackers, without water (available in every buffet , top deck). Before i learned this, i took Gravol (sold in Canada) and it made me feel really strange : i was very dizzy, reality was expanding in all dimensions around me, i could not stand bright light and was talking very slowly. Drinking water made me feel even worse.
I’d complain because every virtual balcony’s remote control absolutely must be in working order!! Priorities, people. S’kay, I was jumping the gun a tad re: the virtual balcony and as a result, I shall walk in a silly manner for a day. At home. Even if my cat is watching.
Hi Very unofficial Travel Guides, do you remember what your cabin number was? My husband and I are looking at going on a cruise in Aug/Sept. & we want the virtual cabin & I like the layout of your cabin (w/the sofa, etc. at the end of the room, not at the front of room). Would you please let me know. I would appreciate a response here or at my email, paulette4737@yahoo.com. Thank you. BTW, I love your videos.
