A little background on this poetry Habba Khatoon (poetess) was wife of Yousuf, who was the last king of Kashmir before Mughals took it down Mughals were unable to enter kashmir and failed through every invasion. Then they asked to sign a peace treaty for which he went to meet them and they back stabbed him. Akbar sent him to jail and Habba Khatoon wrote this peace as she was unable get her love back. Then followed the Mughal Invasion which was successful. Yousuf Shah, was sent to Bihar , in a jail and he died there. His grave is still observed and people there celebrate an Urs for him every year, thinking he was a Nobel Man . This poetry and Mayi Chaani are like most famous love and break up songs with in the culture to which every generation relates at one or other point in their life time

This is just heart wrenching, at first when i heard this song, a friend of mine was playing it on his phone..... I thought to myself this is rubbish, (no offence ) ' coz i hate songs which are related to love stories..... But you know guys, to be honest after that incident i was murmuring this song everytime.... In a single day i would catch myself singing this beautiful song at least 10 times.... Although i hated myself for being so stupid but kehtey hain na when it comes to love, you just fly.....that's what happened.... When i watched this video, literally i got goosebumps all over my body.... This is awesome and i thank to all the artists who are making such efforts to promote the kashmiri Gaewun.... The truth is that primarily it is not Harmukh mountain about which the great poetess Habba Khatoon is talking about but it is Har (every) Mökh (moment) bar tal zagai madaano ( shall I be eagerly waiting for you looking at the door) as Mokh in Kashmiri has a dual meaning of FOR as well as MOMENT, Yee dapham tee lagayo ( Whatever you want me to be I shall be like that) Shairei dapham gulab lagai madano, yee dapham tee lagayo ( If you wish me to be a lavander or behave as a lavander I shall be like a rose or behave as a rose for you my beloved) These lines describe the imagination of a long yearning queen for her husband Yousuf Shah e Chak... Phambas ta naras mil gom, WaLLah mei tchei patae dil gom (Cotton yarn and fire got intermixed... means a delicate and soft hearted girl as she was a simple village girl who got married with a King who is always supposed to face the external danger or threat of life, got burnt in separation of her beloved... By ALLAH ( means in real senses or it is not a fabricated story) my heart felt your love or simply my heart became yours.... Bæ tei no yei doorir tchalye madaano. ( I can't tolerate this separation my beloved)..... Kongas kaermye chaman, maenz ho bae lagye namman ( I have prepared the small fields of safron so that with the extract of which I will polish your nails) or simply I will apply Henna (mehandi) on your nails on your return Mushtaq govham kaaman madano Mushtaq means the one has fallen in deep love with someone and is always eager to see/ meet his beloved... ( Oh my beloved you were my lover who is absent/unavailable/short now) means the one whom I was dear to isn't with me anymore.... Yawan myane thazro, Thazrye traw to nazro. ( O my tender age of youth you have got a height , Have a look from that height) Kael wasei zazur hangye madano (O my beloved, Time will be there when all my decaying body will be burried into the soil) Here she wants to convey a message that one can't be proud of his/her youth as every soul has to taste the death and every human being must interospect his/her deeds during the young age which is far better than repentance while he/she is at the verge of death...
