The two deaths that affected me most profoundly over the last 2 years were the visionary & brilliant artists/composers/musicians/renaissance men Harold Budd & Jon Hassell - both created unparalleled, entirely unique & unmistakable aural cosmos’s & I traveled via their musical realms to a safer place every time I experienced them. May their souls rest in eternal tranquility...they shall live on til the end of time by way of passionate music lovers & endless generations who shall discover their unending delights 🖤🖤
What a mega loss. It’s hard to imagine the man Harold Budd was mortal. The lands he takes us, the spaces he’s created, to me he is an otherworldly being. Goodnight Mr. Budd.
this sounds like The White Arcades. I found out about Harold Budd because of his Brian Eno association. I was searching about through various electronic music when I bought an Ambient compilation on Virgin records, with the likes of Tangerine Dream and Hawkwind. Harold Budd was on it also. One of the best purchases of my life. Harold Budd gets it just right and it is so unique and such a personal expression. He makes a very bleak landscape the most comforting and inviting thing I can imagine. A strange heaven indeed.
RIP Sir Budd, your playing style and mood showed me how powerful a piano can be. I've transcribed some of Budd's tracks and covered them on my youtube channel in an attempt to imitate him. I can only imagine the amount of beautiful music that we'll never hear now, but am eternally thankful for what we have.
you am in my home....play music pretty....you stay....accompany cave drawing of buffalo and stickman ...give us great hunt...and relax contemplative mood..ugh
Man I just got into Budd just to find out he passed away recently. This performance was made the year I was born. RIP Harold Budd, I use your music to help me fall asleep almost every night.
Does anyone know the title of these tracks? I know Harold is playing The White Arcades at the start, but what is the Laraaji track? I can't find it anywhere
......I drift into sleep.....sooooooooooo.....many nights with this recording.....Agua........on the speakers, at a barely audible level.........assures good dreams.......
so sad. rip. ps unrelated question, but did you guys get footage of grouper when she played at the old church in LA? it was so beautiful. i’d love to experience that again.
Why mentorship is so important. Harold Budd credits Brian Eno for everything. Don't forget that, and think a minute what a wonderful thing you can create through someone else if you only care.
