Viper : I was there. What's on your mind? Maverick : My options, sir. Viper : Simple. First you've acquired enough points to show up tomorrow and graduate with your Top Gun class, or you can quit. There'd be no disgrace. That spin was hell, it would've shook me up. Maverick : So you think I should quit? Viper : I didn't say that. The simple fact is you feel responsible for Goose and you have a confidence problem. Now I'm not gonna sit here and blow sunshine up your ass, Lieutenant. A good pilot is compelled to evaluate what's happened, so he can apply what he's learned. Up there, we gotta push it. That's our job. It's your option, Lieutenant. All yours. Maverick : Sorry to bother you on a Sunday, sir, but thank you very much for your time. Viper : No problem. Good luck.
I was recently informed of the death of my best friend, he was 21 years old. He had been my best friend since I had just started university. Strangely, no tears flowed. Strangely enough, I was more inspired to live through it. Was it because I knew that we all die in the end? Was it simply because I am a cold man? Whatever it was, I have never been so encouraged by Viper's words. Please rest in peace. My friend.
The Beginning is remembering ones lost Friend that has died and gone on to Heaven.......the later part of the song is realizing that you must go on with life due to that's what they would have wanted.
I walk or drive to many ballards to put things in to perspective. Oh yeah it would've been great if director Tony Scott never died. His movies just got more brilliant as they got produced. But the world got to him. Who knows if he would've directed the next top gun.
There's nothing like a drive with no intended destination to help you get perspective. Just the road, your car and your thoughts. There's honestly nothing like it. Take it easy Joe.
@@F22raptor46 oh so you should know just for reference that goose was mavericks reo, radar man and power controller, maverick was the flyer of the plane. Goose dies in the film during an ejection sequence and flat spin by hitting the canopy. Maverick survives. So I think only goose should Rest In Peace, but hey maybe maverick needs a good night sleep.
Me after I get cast out by someone. I don't have a clue if I'mma be able to continue flying, because I fight this battle all alone, I've got no one to turn to, no place to call home.
