+Hop Head Yeah he did have the talent to be great and finally showed it this year, but that wasn't why they were booing him. I'm pretty sure it was because of his antics when he blew a kiss at the pitcher after hitting his first minor league homerun. I think it had more to do with him personally (having already proven to be a douchebag by that time), than it had to do with his abilities.
I was at this game and it was by far the best I’ve ever been to. Harper’s first game, harpers first hit, a battle between billingsley and strasburg, fan ran on the field, extra innings, Kemp hits a walk off in 11
I miss this all hustle, high energy Bryce Harper. If he can regain this level of energy and passion, he'll then be able to finally live up to his "young phenom" calling name.
SuperableSnow379 someone along the way told him to slow down.....at that pace hes bound to get seriously hurt.....look at pedroia.....hasnt been the same for a couple years for how hard he plays.....
Victor Santana uh NO That’s actually bullshit and many dodgers fans are salty that their team can’t win a goddamn World Series and everyone knows about the dodgers giants incident
Harper may have been booed, but that didn’t stop him, he made a great debut, and little did the dodger fans know that harper would be an amazing player
I was there. Got the ticket stub still. It was an epic walk off for Kemp. Whole stadium shouted mvp as he rounded the bases. Never forget that feeling.
He was actually clutch on day 1 !!! Nice sack fly in the 9th to take the lead. . Funny thing is I had my first real job at 19 too. . But I was at a sheet metal shop !!! 😂 He was in the Majors !!! I don’t know how a guy like that can handle the pressure and turn into what he turned into 🤯
Wow, Dodgers fans boo a kid making his debut? Sure Harper can be a typical young cocky jock now but what logical reason did they have to boo him, then? Dodgers fans: one of least classiest fan bases (yes yes plenty of good Dodgers fans, but the D'bags are very abundant among them *_relative_* to say White Sox fans or Rays fans)
That's a very ignorant, old, and cliche joke ***** Nobody went to Cubs game until the early 2000's when the area became more gentrified and richer. Look at old cubs games from the 90's.....no fans! haha. Plenty of Sox fans would go if the area were safer, nicer, livelier, etc, etc.
Yeah it's not the White Sox fault there in such a lousy area. But then again, even if they were in a better area they still would be overshadowed by the Cubs.
It's ok Flench Sox are a more traditional team than the Cubs, that's why we're overshadowed. When I'm at a Cubs game (which I enjoy) I feel like I'm at a Yankee or Red Sox game. I feel hyped up. At a White Sox game it feels relaxed, "boring classic baseball", and chill just the way I like it. Chicago's true team.
How can you boo someone who’s 19 getting to live how dream by playing in the big leagues? Stay classy, Dodger fans. Take this back to back L’s in the World Series
+kingskater4 Were not gonna let that punk strut his shit in LA and not let him hear about it....you should of heard us when he ran into the wall the next year LOL
i dont understand why everyone hates bryce he is one of the best players in the mlb and so far has played better than most expected he only di not hustle 2 times and one time was because he pulled a hamstring the other it was a pop up why cant you see how good he has done he has been all star team home run derby rookie of the year and has one of the best batting averages on base percentage stolen bases and home runs talk about that
I was at this game. HORRIBLE traffic. Missed the first 4 innings. But I told my cousin "Don't worry. They're gonna give us extra innings to make up for it." And it did! And the Dodgers won with a walk off home run!
+1979WSchamps Trout. Harper is better offensively, but Trout is better defensively. When I think best outfielder, i think in the actual outfield, not at the batters box
The hype surrounding this guy was insane - I remember thinking there was no way he could possibly live up to it - but since he has been Rookie of the Year, a 5-time All Star, and the 2015 NL MVP all by the time he was 25, I guess it's safe to say he has lived up to it.
Airjackhcin as a player myself it can be very annoying when wearing a loose one and it almost feels like it slows you down. Bryce did what he had to do to bang out that double. Pure hustle
@@joebush8371 yeah, you found this three years later, no cap. Yankees had their chance signing him, but the asked was to high, and became a right fielder,,, Judge is there.. Still he’s a good player and like yogi used to say,,, game ain’t over until is over,,, he’s still playing and grew up a Yankees fan regardless 🤨 cap
Camera angle is different when Harper hits the double. Because a fan behind home plate mooned the camera as the wave came by. Remember crying laughing because no one else noticed it.
