The lady singing in the background is Frida of Abba. They got together to do this track and both Harpo and Frida being Swedish thought at the time it would help promote the song. It did well here in the UK reaching number 24 in 1976. It did better in Europe where it reached Number 1 in Denmark, Germany and also in Sweden. It also made it to number 3 in Australia. Harpo had other minor hits but "Movie Star" will always be the one people most remember. It is a classic and should have been at least in the the top 10 in the UK. His live performance of the song on "Top of the Pops" was awful. I think that this may have put people off buying the record and hence reduced sales. Anyway, still a classic and thanks fir the remix. To be honest, I don't really know much about music culture. I just listen to this because it's clear you have good taste, one that's been refined unlike my comparatively blank slate (that dislikes most modern American songs).
