I used to live in Athens Tennessee and would visits this casino once in a while. I miss the feeling of it being in the mountains. I also used to visit before the casino was ever built. I’d go to the casino and reminisce about the old days. The old cable car that used to go to the top of the mountain and back down buying plastic tomahawks and seeing the bear in the cage, they used to have on the side of the road. It feels so empty now everybody just goes straight through to the casino. But I have those core memories, and it was enjoyable, staying at the old hotels and walking the old stores and buying fudge and all that stuff, but you can still do some of the stores by fudge. I am now in San Diego California and there’s a number of casinos over here but it feels nothing like the one in Cherokee just because it was my very first casino that I had ever visited. Quite the place. Stayed over Christmas 2022. It's definitely large. Overall impressed with our stay though i didn’t see a diamond lounge there very well could have missed it.
Love that area. Have a lot of childhood memories from the 80s and 90s there at Cherokee and Maggie Valley. Santa's Land was fun as a kid, and miss Ghost Town in the Sky theme park. I've been back to the area several times in the last few years but never stopped at the casino. Thanks for the vid as I was curious about the casino. We're coming back out to Cherokee and staying at the casino in Oct. Makes a nice central spot for a vacation with Smokey Mountain Railway in Bryson City, all the stops there in Cherokee / Maggie Valley as well as a short drive over the mountain to Gatlinburg.
Agreed! Such a nice place and the air is so clean! Enjoyed the laid back feeling. The casino was a lot of fun. Smaller than the casinos in CT I am used to but it was easy to navigate and the slots were fun! Thanks for your story! Wish Santa land was open! I love checking out historic parks 😊
Going back for my first visit in over 17 years. I may recognize/remember some of the surroundings on the drive up but the interior looks like it has been completely redone; that's fine with me.

Hi! Maggie valley isn’t far think 30 mins from where we stayed. I wasn’t sure about the filming either. No one said that I Couldn’t. I never even try the table area. I’m sure you would prob get thrown out for that! Have a great time it’s a fun place 😊
These modern casinos absolutely suck. When you walk into one you feel like you've literally walked into a "candy crush saga" game. Every single game is basically the same thing . They try to make them look different by using flashy, fast moving graphics. A traditional casino with traditional games would be much more enjoyable. Real card tables (not all casinos have real card tables) and real slots (one arm bandits) and video poker machines like "pot o gold" machines with keeno, poker, shamrocks or lucky 7's. I know many people who wont go to a modern casino because the huge screens on the "slot machi nes" are to busy and confusing.
Avoid this casino at all cost if you want a drink as you lose your money. $14 a shot for patron and they brought it in a little plastic glass and it was like a little sip. customer service is average at best. Literally better off-line to Vegas and paying $55 a night and being on the strip do you have a much better time.
Someone was telling me that someone 175 thousand dollars and the casino didn't want to pay they try to get a lawyer but there are protected because other Indian tribe.
i went today and the hotel across from grannys kitchen. i dont rlly recomend because there wasnt any shampoo and ended up washing it with soap but my hair was tangled horribly and also when i put it on my body and hands my skin felt so gross like wax or leather. i thought i saw a roach unsure tho. i could barley sleep because of the owners 3 dogs and everytime i sat on the swing out back i would be barked at and it is super annoying. also the owner was a complete asshole... the air ac was so loud and people was banging on the walls to add about the owner she said she would check the pool level and waited 3 hours and finally did it. but left the gate to it locked. i swear it was bad.. i enjoyed being in the creek out back though it isnt a great fishing spot across from the room 104 and down
