Yes I think Woody was definitely giving me a work out, not sure if after I felt keen 😅 thanks for sharing the comment again. Hopefully next time out will all be nice and calm, take care.

Excellent display of the anklets and the telemetry. The fitting went through perfectly also! At 11:18, I can see that you tried to entice Woody to eat any remaining meat on the rabbit leg. But he got it all eaten! At 3:28, you said that the last couple days you had to chase him for a few miles since he was self-hunting. My question is, even though his weight is up, how does he know he can hunt all by himself if he even caught anything yet while he was with you hunting. However, he may have caught things while in his mews at fat weight, so I'm sure he knows he can do it without you. You said later on that you were going to take him out on Thursday. But that means you aren't hunting with him every day as you should! It seems to me that you are trying to avoid getting exercise, but you gotta get used to doing it! Always know that you will get rewarded for it in the end!

The first couple of weeks after the moult is more difficult to hunt daily at high weight. A few weeks in and we can hunt through many higher weights and I now I can get him back. At the beginning he goes his own way if the weight is to high , and I mean his own way , that's going away from me so far I have to track him down, going to places where peaple could have chickens , or duck, I need to have control. So I didn't go every day on the first week or two, if he wasn't right , now we are out daily, his weight is alot better and he has got the routine again, it's no exact science. I'm flying him higher in weight than then we started but as the weeks go on the muscle will build and his routine is ingrained his weight will naturally go up. Harris hawks get lost ,it happens so there is a balance between weight and a lost hawk. I hope I make sense.

Yes, that makes a lot of sense! It seems that Woody doesn't really know what to do when he's on the tops of the trees except just look for a convenient meal. He hasn't seen you hunting with him for nearly 8 months! So he doesn't seem to understand the concept of "following on yet on" yet. You've really prepared Woody for the hunting season very well this time! I know the rest of the season will turn out great!

Well I attempted to use the go pro last night and she hates it. I might have to do a bit of manning with it I think.

The reflection seems to be a problem at first. Mine actually gets excited now when it hears the beeb , I think it relates that with the hunting. Not keen on my big camera as it has a bigger lence to see him self in.

How does Woody reward Chewy for flushing all those rabbits for him, he takes a big crap on his back.🤣🤣🤣 Ungrateful, to say the least. 🐶💩👎

@@freebirdofreason1994 I don't think training a goshawk would be a challenge for you Pete, you have way enough experience now to handle one. I just don't recommend you getting somebody else's problem bird for your first one. Get a fresh eyas and raise it, there shouldn't be any problems. 😎👍
