There shouldn't be a debate. Intrinsic to debate strategy is to pit one against the other. That just feeds into his playbook which includes calling people names and making derogatory statements. Invite him to have a civilized discussion. She is capable of discussion. I've seen him only capable of venting and ranting. A prerequisite for a US President should be the ability to have dialogue. If he declines the invite, it's because he knows he's incapable to adjust to a dialogue format that includes listening, and acknowledging the ideas of the other party. If he declines that, it should be grounds to disqualify him from being the GOP nominee based on his inability to behave maturely. She should only have interaction with him on her own terms because she's the more mature of the both of them; and, therefore, she should be the one to decide the conditions of interaction between the two of them. A discussion would be a good option. Moreover, we already know she is a mature individual because she demonstrates that consistently. We most definitely know he is an immature individual because of his track record of demonstrating that consistently. To, otherwise, put two people so different in terms of emotional maturity on a stage like that for a debate is the prerequisite to create a vacuum showing the little common ground the two of them share on a humanistic level. In this situation, should they debate, her only responsible response to him would be to encourage him to be more mature in his interaction with her, i.e. to encourage him to rise to her level. Otherwise, it'll be a sham; and she'll be neglecting her fundamental duty to evoke his sense humanity to emerge which is what any of us owes, on the most basic level, to anyone in our lives for satisfactory mutual interaction. Outside of that, it's just a charade. She doesn't need to prep for this. Her reliance on her prep will put her off balance like it did for Joe Biden when he was caught up in searching for what to say in response to Trump in his last debate with him as he missed out on the opportunity for a response grounded in the reality of the moment. She needs to respond to him in the moment and very spontaneously to address his moral and ethical deficit as it manifests on that debate stage. That would be the most responsible thing she could do on that stage for his sake and for the sake of the country and that would elevate her stature in the minds of the American people to new heights.
