Harrows recently signed Ryan Searle to their brand and they have come out with a new look dart that is grippier than his previous ones but still in a heavy weight 32g! There is other lighter weights available but in this video I review the Heavy Metal 32g darts. They have a nice black ti coating with red highlights in the grooves. Please get well very soon, I didn't expect you lift Rocky I really thought now you would lift the heavy Metal darts, as they were 32kg. 😂 Great sense of humor, this is the reason why I enjoy it so much to watch.

@@DartsReviewChannel unfortunately I know the truth, my mom's dog follows Rocky dogtube account. Where Rocky saids more then five times: he wants to be the only in your Family who shot 9 darters, this is why he may manipulate your dart, so you hit trible 5 instead of trible 20. 🤣

"Let the dart do the work" (Phil Taylor) Heavy darts are often massively misunderstood. I love my red 34g Searles feom Loxley. No need for aggressive acceleration, just one smooth and powerful swing. Never felt any pain, even after playing for hours.

Yeah thats true, it is often a forgiving dart when its heavy as I said I used to throw 27g but I had a different throw then and had wrist problems, then injured my shoulder and then broke my hand, I cant throw the darts as smoothly the same way I did then so I had to learn what is best for me, was a long process and still not anywhere near to what I was like 12 years ago.

Thanks! I injured my shoulder in 2009, could not throw until 2011 but was never the same, took a long time to get even 40% as good as I was and I am maybe 55 to 60 % now, dont think it will improve any more though as I hurt my wrist and broke my hand to add to the shoulder issue lol As long as I can throw the darts in some fashion I will be happy, will have to learn to throw with my feet just in case lol! :)

@@DartsReviewChannel Yikes! You’ve been through many injuries! Mine hurts a bit to throw, but it really pains me if I reach in the back seat of the car. The threat of pain seems to make my tiny follow thru even worse. LOL. Lately I’ve been throwing 10 or 15 min left handed. No pain, great follow through, but NO accuracy. Haha! I try to have a good attitude about everything and just enjoy the occasional positive outcome, whether it’s winning a leg, or just enjoying the company of fellow throwers. Good luck to you. Always enjoy your videos, and keep the positive attitude!

Lol I tried left handed years ago, took a while before I hit a treble 20 but it just did not feel right, was almost like having a remote controlled arm throwing the darts so I stopped and just waited until I could throw with the right again. Maybe if I stuck at it I might have got used to it? As long as we can still throw and enjoy it though I'm happy 😊

Hi, I spin my darts naturally, it's just a result of the way I throw them. Think it's how my thumb releases the dart 😊

Because you were obviously in a lot of pain: I recently bought a mini massage gun. It's quite amazing what this little thing can do to a darting elbow in a very short time (as long as nothing is really broken in the joint). And after I returned the first model and got another one, it even came with a handy little case (18x18x6 cm), so you could easily take it with you to tournaments ... If you want to know which device I got - just get in touch, Darren!

Looks like you've got golfers elbow (like tennis elbow, but on the inside of the elbow). I had it for about 18 months, horrible condition and really messed my darts up. Hope yours eases quicker!

I really like the look of these darts; they might be too grippy for me, though, with your rating of 8! I’m a middle gripper so I’d be right on that intense looking, large razor grip. I also wasn’t aware Searle left Loxley…interesting. Thanks for the review, Darren mate.

Are you new to darts? If so then points can be changed with a re-pointing tool, only Target Swiss points and now the Cuesoul OTO points can be changed by hand but they only accept their own brand of points. All other steel tip darts can use any steel tip point in theory but sometimes there is a difference in size, they can be too tight or too loose. You can get round that with super glue or loctite thread or by filing the point. Soft tip darts use plastic points which can be changed by hand and you can get special steel tip conversion points for them to make them into steel tip darts but normal steel tip darts you need a tool like this: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bdd6qbpOKt8.html

Does anyone know if the points are "changeable". If so, what other points fit? Cheers.

All normal points can be changed but as to which will fit is another question. In theory they should all fit but there is no set standard that all the brands adhere too. Some are thicker than others. But if a point is too loose for the dart you can add super glue or Loctite threadlock and if it is too tight you can file it to fit. Some will fit without any issue though.

I'm throwing with the old Loxley 32 grams of Searle. I'm fond of a smooth transition between barrel and point, so I opted for the Target firestorm diamond pattern, and I think that the black ones will fit perfectly with these new darts.

Finally a soft tip version of a Ryan Searle dart is made, (I have his steel tip gen 1 dart) and harrows changes the barrel shape for his soft tip barrel. What the heck!?

Have you tested these because I'd be interested in your grip rating. For me I'm looking for more grip now I'm using the front off the barrel more since I've change my grip after all these years because of darterites

i’m considiring to buy these darts. Now I throw 26 gram, do you recommend buying the 32 grams version. What I often get with my 26 grams ( mervyn king special edition)that the dart is often under the treble 20 like almost at the bull but then the next throw above the treble 20. What do you recommend?

May not be the weight but your release that is the problem? 26g is heavy enough for most, have you tried lighter darts?

It's a struggle for the small brands, very tough to compete with the long established big names but Loxley supported their sponsored players as well as they could.

Those remind me of the wolfram infinity darts but fatter. Stems are nice but darts not so much 🤷🏼‍♂️. Too fat and a bit low on the tungsten factor for me.

Pity for sore arm Darren , maybe best give dart throwing a rest for a few weeks And then take it at ease this when back to begin with throwing again and youll know how it goes if ok u can up it a touch more so . Anyhow them look good darts Ryan Searles a fav player of mines as guy just gets on with his game and top player he is with it often ..i grip from front also , always did its just were all different where we grip a dart and how we throw a dart , everyone is different in that respect . Hopefully u get your arm working to what it was and without the pain as nothing worse. Ive been there before i dont practice as much as i once did yrs ago Though i do go around from bullseyes to treble 10 to treble 20 and then little practice on the scores and later bullseye or 3 and double 1 to tops I tend to practice in say a 30mins time slot, then few hrs break if i can then another 30 mins sorty thing ..yrs back 2 hrs at a time or more Now an hr a day approx 2/3 times per week does me as i get base of back probs ..just feels like a strain on base back is when i have to stop Take tablets to try aid this and gel rubbed on Ongoing with me also which is a pain .. But well in my 60s nowadays cycling in the distant past especially and darts has aided in my base back probs i think . Wish they had electric bikes yrs ago ..them hills arggghhh :) All the best Darren Enjoy your videos and hopefully u get back without the pain . Time is normally the healer .

Thanks mate! I think as we get older we just pick up more and more injuries, getting them when younger we could recover quicker but not so past a certain age sadly. Still got to keep some kind of activity going though, a rest may be all it needs I hope :)

Thanks for the video Darren , but I winced at every throw in sympathy . Instead of picking up Rocky you need to find a hedgehog to train with ! To speed up 'warming up' my throw I used to use a set of darts a few grams heavier to start of and then throw my prefered set . That works well . I find a heavier set is easier to throw but lighter darts allow a better accuracy if you really concentrate when throwing . A lighter dart might cause wild misses , but a heavier dart generally goes in the right direction but not maybe in that vital treble needed . I won a raffle prize of 19 gram darts once and people insisted I throw them in a game after our match games finished . I use a 23 or 24 gram dart usually . Anyway , with my arm well warmed up , I straight off hit a 180 with the 19s . I thought I had found my holy grail of darts , so I tried them the very next night ..... complete failure ! Lol . Rest that arm mate .

I'm still searching for his Loxley 32 gram versions, just as a spare set. But it seems everyone started throwing with 32 grams now, because no shop sells them anymore here in the Netherlands 😂

I AM CONFUSED! I always hear, light darts are stressful, because one need lot of power to throw them. Not really, isn't it ?

I think it can depend on the player to some extent and also how long you have been playing. They often say heavy darts are more forgiving and take less effort to throw and in a way that is true if you are a very relaxed style of throw but not everyone throws like that, some people power their darts in and that can be tiring was a heavy dart.

@@DartsReviewChannel Some people say, they cannot feel a light dart, it gives no response. But: A heavier dart cannot take less effort, as you have yet experienced, it is only an illusion. A twice as heavy dart needs twice the energy, that is pure physics. Now, after 6 years, my favourites weigh in total 19 gr. and less. Over 20gr feels for me now like much too heavy and only with effort controllable, too bad, I have a lot of them.

@@DartsReviewChannel Or in other words, some need the feeling of weight, some do not. For me, feeling of weight is only disturbing, I don't need it anymore to controll the dart. The only disadvantage of it all is for me, that the best looking and shiny darts are those darts with 23 gr and more. You get much more for your money, but it is all needless for me.
