One sub-plot of this movie that I like is that George Henderson carries a lot of baggage from what his dad told him he should be and encouraged him to be. The real George Henderson, as a man, is quite different from what his dad taught him to be. His dad wants him to be a hunter and an outdoorsman, but George Henderson is an artist and a family man first and foremost. By the end of the story, he stands up to his dad, and decides he's going to be his true self. And he knows that this doesn't make him any less of a man.
