The Streamer Awards were epic! I was super honored to be invited to perform. I got to walk through the whole venue and rap for everybody -- the crowd got super hyped, but before the actual performance, it was dope. I got to do some Guerrilla Bars style performances for the people mingling out on the red carpet. I got to freestyle for some legends in the chess space as well as some up and comers. It's propably few things. Rap isn't respected like that, it just isn't if you aren't like Embedded into it and just know. It's almost like seen as.. childish/for parties/there is something how people see the aesthetic, all that and match it to the skill. Then yeah these people are basement dwellers who take themselves at the moment a bit too important it seems. They watch it like okok you did good, that was nice, propably doesn't have the idea how hard that is. Back when I used to still freestyle my friend said he cannot get how it's possible since if he is in the bed and tries he get's stuck on the first word to rhyme 😅 So I don't know man, propably a multitude of reasons why it is like it is. It's a shame tho.

@@astromiguibro is onto nothin, while those streamers don't have this talent in freestyle, they themselves are talented at other stuff, example is piratesoftware, speedrunners, and many others. some streamers might not like rap or something like this or they're just enjoying it, I mean I love watching his freestyle but I don't really bop my head or do anything, I just silently enjoy the genius freestyle

What I find most novel and compelling is how much the freestyle depends on the people, the words they give and their energy when you're preforming. That makes all the difference on what you create. Everytime you live up to the occasion! What a treat to be able to watch Harry.

yeah honestly some crowds make the freestyle feel slightly underwhelming with their energy even though the freestyle is insane. if i was harry mack i would maybe be a bit more picky with crowds. Like being able to tell that people will fuck with your art and appreciate it before sharing the genius

I love that Harry always rolls with it even when people mispronounce words. For example, "paruresis" (like "pair your e sis"), though in this case he might not have know it was a mispronunciation, but he has known when it was wrong a lot of times and doesn't bother correcting them.

@@kazitawfiq08 In many ways, he is combining a very well understood musical skill with the abilities of linguistics. There actually are and have been several people who can freestyle off the dome. One noticeable difference is that Hmack realized he existed in a time and space where he could build a career entirely around that skill, whereas in the past it was mostly a skill that was used to convince someone to give you a recording contract or free studio time.

@@kazitawfiq08 You should maybe listen to some masterful improv musicians(blues, jazz, etc). They do the same thing in a way, yet with notes and chords instead of words.

@@py_a_thon you are correct that there existed or still exist several freestylers who can can make stuff stuff up just as quickly, but what differentiates harry and puts him on a whole new level is his vast knowledge and how quickly he accesses it. he is not only about rythm or fast rapping, he includes references info and so much more in his verses that you would defintely need a breakdown to fully understand. if you have seen his other videos where he raps with 10-12 words you would notice that most freestylers if they attemptedthat they would either make simple rhymes to incorporate all words or forget halfway.
