This has to be the most Hauntingly Beautiful Love Song ever written. I have been listening to this Masterpiece for over 40 years and it still Tears me to shreds every time I hear it. This is the Anthem for anyone who has ever Loved someone and then Lost them, but you still hopelessly go to the places that you used to go with them, in a Lovelorn Daze, knowing that they are no longer there, but you do it anyway, just hoping to see their face again, one more time, so that you could Plead with them to come back to you. It evokes that Yearning feeling that you have when you are in that situation. Anyone who has loved deeply and lost will know exactly what I mean. Heavenly Music.

This whole album is a masterpiece. What a crying shame that RCA didn’t promote it.

When it breaks into the violins half of the way through ..I'm reminded that nilsson sadly isn't amongst us anymore ..which is why we must appreciate even more so the wealthy musical legacy he left behind for us

“She doesn’t live here anymore…” That’s how I found out the love of my life had left me. We were three months away from getting married; I went to her apartment one morning and everything was gone. No furniture, no note, no love. I knew that moment her parents had won and convinced her to go back to her old boyfriend, whom she married about the date we had planned to. This is the first time I’ve ever heard this song. Harry’s ‘Without You’ has been the song playing in my heart these fifty years since she left; now, that song is joined by this great song. Man, could Harry sing! Sure wish we could go back in time and try to correct our mistakes.

This song never fails to make me break into tears. Gorgeous tune.

This is my all-time favourite song from Harry Nilsson [who wrote and performed the song], when I was 10 years old and I remember the song when my family went to a week holiday in Plymouth and this song was played on a radio on a white Rover V8, my late father`s favourite car and I like to dedicate this song to my family members, who are longer with us, especially to my late brother Nick passed away in February this year.

One of the most underrated love songs of the 70s. Perfectly delivered his voice sometimes contained an ethereal quality. RCA at the time were getting ready to give the album and this superb track the big PR but then Elvis died and they switched all their attention to that.

This is when his voice started to return. The super high notes were gone so he used a Church Boy’s Choir...Great underrated LP that RCA ignored when suddenly Elvis died...

The sustained choir vocals that run from 2:59 to 3:37 adds so much anxiety and tension to the song. It's jarring and beautiful at the exact same time.

I'm always sad when I hear this song - but not for its subject. It's a fine song, but it's so haunting that this song was sung after his beautiful voice was ruined, and all we are left with is the tragic shadows of his talent.

I have to think that Nilsson was a fan of James Bond because those initial chords are vintage John Barry, including the guitar solo with strings.
