I love seeing Jo's drawings of how she envisioned diagon alley, hagrid, mcgonagall, and dumbledore to look like, its so fascinating. I always enjoy hearing the backstory of the making of HP. JKR really has inspired generations of people to enjoy reading ~ she's amazing❤

I bought the book today, After seeing it at the store, I was very tempted to buy it, however, somehow, I managed to put it down. I spent the next few minutes repeating the words "I don't need it" in my head. Next thing I knew, I was paying for it at the checkout.

Can't believe it's only been 25 years. The impact Harry Potter has had over the years is astounding. I just got my nephew in to reading the series and he is a die hard fan now too.

25 Years of Magic! In May of 1997, I graduated from college and went to work for a boarding school as their activities director. I had the pleasure of reading the first 4 Harry Potter Books during my time there. I thought of my time there as the closest I would come to feeling like I lived at Hogwarts. I even felt like Argus Filch while on nightly hall monitoring and Severus Snape on study hall duty. I miss the midnight book partly launches. It's been 25 years and the magic is alive and well! I love this magical community!

I was 2 months and 1 day old when it came out! 🤯 I can't believe I'm as old as the first book/introduction to the Wizarding World. In another 25 years, I hope that my children are just as excited about the 50th anniversary as I am right now about the 25th! ✨ I would love a copy of this 25th anniversary edition ❤️ Thanks for sharing, Peter!

I remember the crowds at the mall when the books first came out.i use to work at the radio shack in the Worcester Massachusetts mall,I bought the paper back when it came out later on to read to my baby (he's grown now)and I fell in love.

Perfect gift for my wife's 31st birthday. Harry potter was always an escape for her growing up in turbulent household. I didn't get into Harry Potter until way after the movies had already come out and been in syndicate on tv. It amazes me that the magic still continues to hit the way it does. It's such a great escape, Alcatraz not withstanding, from the everyday mundane. Keep up the love and excitement for all things magical!!

Harry Potter has a been a big part of my life so to see the 25 anniversary of its first book is simply amazing. Whenever I have a bad day I can always pick up a book and just let myself enjoy it and forget about the day.

Wow 25 years, who would've thought. I worked at an international airport when the first book came out. I got one for my daughter since it's a children's book. She was not interested in it so I ended up reading it myself and loved it and still loving it after all these years! Always.

Harry Potter has always taken a huge part in my life - thanks to my mom. When a new movie would come out, she would bring us to the movies to watch it. It wasn't until my early 20s that I started reading the books and I now listen to them every night before bed and when I drive as well. This world, as well as this commuity, truly is my safeplace and I am so thankful for it. Thank you for the great videos, they are always amazing to watch

I’m 49 and have been a Harry Potter fan for several years. I watch you channel all the time. You are doing a great job of showcasing Fragical boxes and books. You even inspired me to visit the New York store. By the way I got the Lego Hedwig for my collection after watching your build on the channel. I got my two children into Harry Potter when they were very young, and they love it. Great job with the channel and I hope you keep it up for a long time!

I can't believe it has been 25 years, the first book is older than me! I remember waiting at the library, to borrow the philosophers stone and reading it in less than a week. I felt immersed & warm after reading about the Wizarding World & the golden trio. As a budding illustrator myself, harry potter book covers have always inspired me & my artworks. I landed on your videos while searching for the French book covers & now I am part of the community! Can't wait to see more of them, Peter!

The anecdote from Thomas Taylor is very interesting! Even though I’m a HP fan for years, I didn’t know those facts about the mystery wizard at the back cover. With all the illustrated editions being made right now, I find the earlier drawings more interesting as they are the first heart of Harry Potter.

What a truly notable and magical moment. Funny how I was just today discussing with my mother how Harry Potter was the first "real" book I ever read and it turned into such an admiration to the books: waiting for the last translations to come out, competing with classmates on who could read the collection the fastest... Needless to say, my collection looks deeply "loved" throughout the years :)

It's unbelievable isn't it? 25 years of Harry Potter! And these books are so timeless and so well written. But of course, above all, they are magical. That's the thing about books, they let you travel around magical, amazing worlds, while you are just at home, lying on the sofa. I always say: You know you have read a good book once you have finished it, and you feel a little hardbroken when you close it. I have that very strong feeling, each time I close a Harry Potter book. I still have that feeling, even though I have read each book at least 7 times now. Harry Potter wil be there forever, it's so amazing that people around the world will be reading this for many, many years from now on. We are all different, with our own interests, but we all love Harry Potter... And we always will. Thank you for the video Peter!

Can't believe it's been 25 years, time really flies! I did not get into the series until the 1st movie came out, but then binge-read all 4 of the then-released books in the school library during my free periods in the following weeks. Became hooked for life and attended a midnight release party for each of the remaining books in the series. Would love to have a 25th anniversary edition to commemorate this transformative era in literary history.

It's been 25 years already, wow! This book is as old as my firstborn - I have a very early Canadian edition with the same artwork. I vividly remember buying this while I was pregnant. It still holds a special place in my heart. Harry Potter forever! Here's to the boy who lived!

I have Harry Potter in my life only for 12-13 years, but now I can’t imagine my everyday life without it. I lister the books before I go to sleep, I use Harry Potter references in every speech, I watch movies every two or three months. It’s just everywhere!

When the Harry Potter books came out. I had to read it before I would start my boys on them. I have multiple copies and each boy wanted their own. One year for I pre-order the book for my boys and they dressed up for it. My oldest dressed to look like Harry Potter and his younger brother dressed to look like Ron Weasley. They actually made the news with their outfits. I have continued to spread the love of Harry Potter to more children they truly are such good books. Thank you for all of your enjoyable videos.

I grew up reading harry potter. I remember how hard it was waiting for j.k. rowling to publish the new books and how you could see people camping in front of bookstores in the news to be able to get one of the first books 😄. The books were always on my christmas wishlist 🥰 and now, 25 years later, I still love them 💖

I can't believe it's been 25 years since Harry Potter was first released. This series has been such a large part of my life for the last 20 years. I really want a copy of this edition. I had no idea that cover was his first book cover! It must have been surreal when it blew up for him.

I am reading this to my granddaughter she is 7 and so far she is loving it. I visit twice a week so she gets it read to her, when I put her to bed and it’s now become our thing she only allows us to read it together and I love being able to pass my love of Harry Potter on to her. Xxx

Like many before me I can't believe that it has been 25 years that we've had this magical world to explore. I recall reading Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone for the first time along side my class , then getting in trouble for reading ahead. I am so glad that Harry Potter is still going strong and looking forward to see where this magical journey takes us during the next 25 years!

I was working for the U.S. Postal Service 25 years ago. My co-workers knew well of my excitement of J.K.Rowling’s genius story. When I retired, they gifted me with all of the movies available in 2016. Best gift ever. I will visit Universal Orlando for the first time this November!

I just can’t explain how much Harry Potter changed and helped me through my life, specially at school when I could scape from bullies and bad muggles, to enter in a much better place where I found true friendship, companionship, a place that now, me and my partner, can call it home (even though I’m a Ravenclaw and he is a Griffindor :P). I can’t believe its been 25 years already ! I discovered HP after the first two books were published and remember fondly queuing at the book shop for the midnight releases when they started ( one time I even took my baby with me swaddled up because my husband was away on business lol , thats how dedicated I was to the releases❤️). I still have the bags they were given out in and some of the promotional things given away at the midnight releases here in the UK.

I wasn't born when the first Harry Potter book (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone) was released, but my parents made sure I saw the movie years ago. From that moment I fell in love with that world. And this year, I finally decided to read the saga. And I can only say that reading the books is living an authentic magical experience... Harry Potter will form one way or another part of my life... ALWAYS

I didn't grow up with Harry but I traveled with him. I first started reading the books in early 2001 while backpacking throught Europe. At the time there were only four books, I read all four on that trip.

I randomly picked up the first book at a school book fair in 1999 when I was 10 years old...only two years after I immigrated to the US as a non-English speaker. I was so proud that I could understand it.

It's crazy how Harry Potter literally changed my life. As a small boy I used to read a lot but I kinda lost interest in books and stories as I got older and even made fun of my best friend at the time for reading Harry Potter (we were about 13 back then). But one day I found an old printing of the book at home and secretly began reading it... Now I LOVE reading in general and my biggest dream is to become a writer myself.

Fun fact: the first few printings of the Canadian edition mimic the OG first printing because Bloomsbury went through Raincoast Books, which is just a printing distributor company, so it's identical to the first printing from Bloomsbury - errors and Taylor's Dad-Wizard and all. My friend has a Canadian first printing, so I totally had a heart attack when I saw it, thinking she owned an actual Bloomsbury first printing. I'm actually a bit disappointed that the 25th Anniversary Edition didn't keep the non-Dumbledore wizard, because my personal edition has him on the back and I'd like to own both. This got me emotional, Peter! Thinking back to when I first discovered the magical, wizarding world as a young bibliophile. The trio were my friends, their adventures were mine too. I'd rush home after school to find out what they'd been up to, and read chapters and chapters under my blanket, long after I was supposed to 'go to bed'. Midnight book releases dressed up as Hermione, collecting every bit of merchandise I could get my hands on (WAY before the films) what a magical time ✨

I still have all my original Harry Potter books, including the one I bought in 1997. The first Harry Potter was released three weeks before my daughter was born. My mother introduced me to the book.

The Harry Potter books helped me a lot, it helped me go through the lowest part of my life where vanishing is the only answer. It gave me the companion that I never knew I needed and I am thankful that the books found me before the dementors did.

It's an amazing edition and a purchase for sure! 25 years...woww, i was 2 years old when it was published, the first time i came in touch with Harry was in a magazine for kids, i was in in elementary school and when i got home there was that magazine which in the cover featured the cover art for the spanish edition of the Phillosopher's Stone by Dolores Avendaño and i fell in love with that art i mean, a boy flying on a broom, the castle with a three headed dog in it, a unicorn in the back and the lake surrounding the castle and that starry sky was magic! and so i found out about this character and the up coming movie and once i watched the movie i was crazy about it! and so on Harry Potter was part of my life growing up and with every book published and movie releasing made it really magical and i don't have enough thanks to J.K for that!

What a beautiful way to celebrate 25 years of Harry Potter. I do agree with you though Peter, I wish there would be some more illustrations or doodles throughout the chapters to add a bit more magic to the silver edition. Never the less, still a wonderful addition to any collection.
