In the dimly lit corridors of Hogwarts, I trudged, still reeling from a grueling Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Determined to improve, I practiced the spells repeatedly, losing track of time. Finally, a sense of accomplishment washed over me.
Exhausted, I made my way back to the Slytherin common room, where I found Draco Malfoy asleep on a couch. He looked vulnerable, almost human. Curiosity overcame me, but I hesitated to wake him.
Instead, I settled into an armchair, lost in contemplation. My perception of Draco began to shift - could there be more to him behind the cold facade?
I dozed off briefly and awoke to find Draco watching me. Surprised to see each other awake, we started talking about our tough days at Hogwarts, walls between us crumbling.
As the night wore on, we opened up, sharing fears and aspirations. We discovered we were just two students navigating the trials of Hogwarts, rivals no more.
Laughing and chatting, we found an unexpected connection. Draco invited me to join him on the couch, and our shoulders touched lightly, deepening that connection.
"I never thought I'd spend the night chatting with a Slytherin," I half-joked.
Draco chuckled, his eyes softening. "I never thought I'd enjoy it this much."
As sleep claimed us, I wondered what the future held for us. Our rivalry may continue during the day, but at night, anything was possible - even a friendship transcending house boundaries.
