Yeah, shame they fell off after that. 3rd was enjoyable, but the changes were already apparent, and it all went downhill from there (man, those last 3 movies were so lame and teeny, more like pedestrian young adult fiction than the HP books)
I wonder if some of the tracks were meant for Attack of the Clones, because one of the tracks sounds a lot like the Zam the Assassin and the Chase Through Coruscant theme.
@@solstice1290 Well, this is gonna require a bit of backstory, so here it is. As I’m guessing you know, John Williams scored Lucas’s Attack of the Clones Right before he was scheduled to start work on Chamber of Secrets. Unfortunately, he was also previously contracted to begin work on Spielberg’s Catch Me If You Can while this film was in post-production. He just didn’t have the time to fully commit to writing a whole new score for the movie. So, with the limited time he had, he consulted with William Ross (the best orchestrator in Hollywood) and the two of them came up with a different strategy to completing the work, and it was this. With the free time he did have, Williams would spot the entire film, write new themes for the new characters, and score the quintessential scenes (major plot points and action sequences). Then, when Williams went off to score Catch Me If You Can, Ross would complete the rest of the score utilizing and rearranging music from the Philosopher’s Stone and rerecording it with the LSO. However, as it turned out, this wasn’t enough to cover it. They had no new theme for Lucius Malfoy, and they couldn’t find anything that they thought would work for the trench section of the Quidditch game. Thus, material from Attack of the Clones was borrowed and adapted. (Dooku’s theme and the Coruscant Speeder Chase, as @SammEater mentioned.) William Ross has stated in interviews that, despite Williams’s inability to compose an entirely new score, the resulting work was very much his. He was very specific about what cues, themes and motifs should be utilized where in the film, and nothing was ever used without his instruction and/or approval. Basically, what I’m getting at is, it wasn’t just some mixup. It was a deliberate decision and action on the part of Williams and Ross. The key, orchestrations, mixing and several sections of the COS version are all different from the AOTC version anyway. Besides, film composers are unbelievably busy people, and reference themselves all the time. Even the distinct ostinato the COS and AOTC scores share is very similar to a large portion of Williams’s score for the bicycle chase in E.T.
@@cinemascore-along That makes sense and is definitely the most detailed explanation I've seen. I was just going off of what I had heard before, and I stand corrected.
Hello, is it possible to restore HP and the philosopher's stone? It's my favourite soundtrack and I miss it a lot when I'm working (great to focus with it).
You know the Harry Potter and the fantastic beasts franchise kinda still reminds me of Star wars like you know wands reminds me like lightsabers you fight with for justice
But wait! It's not even the full version of that scene.😢 I mean holy shit, in the film that build up and payoff is just something else but the soundtrack here stops halfway into the payoff. :(
49:32 sounds like it comes straight from Star Wars Attack of the Clones. Which came out the same year as this film I believe, both composed by John Williams so it makes sense
That is because it literally is from Star Wars. Apparently there was a mix up in the editing and somehow they ended up putting a Star Wars track into the quidditch scene. EDIT: Turns out what I said is a complete myth which I gullibly accepted and did not fact check. This comment at this link sets the story straight. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b6a8SbSBmXE.html&lc=UgzQN6ZUtdlIew4w5cZ4AaABAg.9LvDTCjkQFH9O6Igh8PR__ (Thanks to Rafael for bringing me back to this)
William Ross wrote (or better say adapted) most of the music in Chamber of Secrets. He was mostly inspired by the music of the first movie of course, but apparently he ran out of material to adapt for the quidditch game, so he just took something from Star Wars. If you haven’t heard the original you wouldn’t notice, it’s fits stylistically right into Harry Potter.
What's the "generalized" Song Name of the Quidditch theme hereat 46:12? In HP1 it was "visit to the Zoo" but rather calm. I Love this track so damn much.
It's called Nimbus 2000. I just recently put up a comment that takes each queue and I write the themes that appear in that queue in order. I would recommend checking that out, you may have to sort comments by newest to see it. I would appreciate it if you could hit the thumbs up button so that more people can see it.

I love how Harry Potter peaked during 2020, but I swear I hate those people that use Harry Potter for clout. Like bro, I’ve been loving this movie since I saw it in theaters😩
1:22:27 J'adore le côté hors du temps et surnaturel de cette séquence ! même si en vrai, l'ensemble des musiques Harry potter me transporte toujours ailleurs...
THANK YOU!! I only recently discovered there were expanded editions of these scores but it sucks they were only printed as limited edition CDs. Now I can stream the whole thing
Even though it says: Music Composed and Conducted by John Williams, A fun fact: Even though John Williams composed the music for the Chamber of Secrets, He had scheduling conflicts on Catch Me If You Can, (2002) So, he didn’t have time to conduct the Chamber of Secrets! And so, the baton was handed over to William Ross, as he led the world famous London Symphony Orchestra, and the London Voices choir, and recorded at London’s famous Abbey Road Studios! William Ross would adapt many of John's themes, Along with the new material as well! Now, you will see from either the soundtrack cover, or the movie credits at the end, You will see: Music Composed by John Williams, Music Adapted and Conducted by William Ross, Performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices, And Recorded and Mixed at Abbey Road Studios, London!
That says the soundtrack i bought adapted and conducted by William Ross , and music performed by London Symphony Orchestra. At last someone meantions it.
It’s too bad about the Spirit soundtrack being blocked. Oh well. May I ask where you find these expanded soundtracks? I really want to buy them. Particularly the Prince of Egypt ost.
Music composed by the mighty John Williams but arranged by William Ross . The London Symphony Orchestra perfectly performed that. My most beloved film of the saga and soundtrack. The turning dark point of the story . Has both scherzosical childish light innocense of the first one but the shadow and danger comes forth . Prisoner of Azkaban goes into that darkness built on Chamber of Secrets. Down directly . Dissonanses in sound are make atmosphere more like a horror film. But there was the second movie which built it up. More darker , more ominous , operatic and little light momments. That is why is my top one film of the saga in the Harry Potter universe. Is the momment that we go deep in the danger of the darkness forces and the light of Philosopher's Stone fades out completely. The loss of innocense. The another , more ominous turning point is Goblet of fire. There we see that no one is safe and everyone could die in a momment like Cendrick Deagory did. And we' ve lost a lot of beloved characters until the end . The real shock is master Doumbledoore 's death by the hands of Snape . But that was for the plot go on , and take us to the last chapters ... the Deathly Hallows .
