This was the last film role of the great Irish actor Richard Harris. He was cast to be Dumbledore for The Prisoner of Azkaban but sadly died of Hodgkin's Lymphoma in October of 2002
makes you wonder how the film would've looked if he had been dumbledore as the series takes the darker tone as his robes looked majestic and both philosophers stone and chamber of sercrets were relative brightly lit with the sets
You ladies probably don't know this but there is a small end credits scene after 'Chamber of Secrets'. It takes place in Diagon Alley where we see, in a store window, a book cover picture art of Lockhart humming absentmindedly, wearing a straightjacket & the book title is called "Who Am I?" It's a funny little conclusion to Lockhart's character in the film.
Jason Isaacs( Lucius Malfoy) says he still gets hate mail or angry letters from Potter fans for attempting to kill Harry at the end of this movie. He has gone on to explain that at the time. That scene didn't really have him saying anything and he thought casting a spell would add to the scene. He didn't know of any curses and the closest person only knew the killing curse. Mr. Isaacs didn't know what curse it was. Also, him kicking Dobby down the stairs wasn't in the script. Mr. Isaacs made the kicking motion while they were filming. The director called cut and yelled for someone to wipe up where Mr. Isaacs slipped. Mr. Isaacs then explained he felt line Luscious would have been so angry that he would have kicked Dobby.
Man ive seen this movie a million times but seeing Hagrid at the end made me almost ugly cry...Robbie Coltrane the actor who played Hagrid, passed away on Oct 14th...he will always be remembered with deep seeded love because of his role as Hagrid.
18:07 funny y’all should say this, considering the fact that depending on mythology for some cultures, phoenixes were the gold to the dragons’ silver. It’s even illustrated in the brief battle against the basilisk, which also in some cultures are representative of snakes evolving to dragons.
I've seen Jason Isaacs play villains in other movies: Captain Hook in a live-action adaptation of Peter Pan, Felton in the movie Dragonheart, Colonel William Tavington in Patriot and even Lex Luthor in Justice League: Gods And Monsters. Also, I'm not gonna lie....when I first saw the basilisk in this movie, I had the same reaction Ron had with Aragog. FUN FACT: The reason Ron is so fearful of spiders is explained in the book. When Ron was a toddler, Fred and George turned his teddy bear into a spider.
It was actually Fred's toy broomstick Ron broke and in retaliation he turned his teddy bear into a spider Ron's actor Rupert is also Arachnophobia as well the main reason he won't watch this movie again is because of that scene with aragog
Some *Marvel* connections: Filch was in the opening scenes in the first Captain America film, while the voice of Dobby was Dr. Zola for Hydra, and Professor Lockhart directed the first Thor film.
I’m not really surprised that Harry didn’t tell the adults about the voice considering the first time he tried to tell an adult something important they didn’t believe him I don’t think the Dursleys helped with that either with the trust issues
50:40 Emma Watson felt weird around boys at the time so she only hugged one( but them two not hugging makes proof about their future relationship and acting weird around one another)
49:14 Dobby - Master as given Dobby a sock, master as presented Dobby with clothes, Dobby Is free. You shall not harm Harry Potter. My Favourite Dobby Lines of all time.
I saw it when I was 12 years old and now at 32 years old I am remembering my childhood thanks to you ladies. Curious fact: Hermione"s actress Emma Watson has the same age as mine, she borns one day before me.
Great reaction ladies I always enjoy watching people react to these movies for the first time I remember seeing this at the movies as a twelve year old in 2002
It's great seeing all of you together in a reaction. Besides the Harry Potter movies, you should also watch the Brendan Fraser Mummy movies (The Mummy and The Mummy Returns) as the whole group. They're more fun with more people watching.
Please hurry with the next one. I wouldn't like it to wait the same long time again as it was between Part 1 and 2. And Michelle for a they live happily ever after It's much to early because there are 5 Films that follow where you still have to watch!
33:45 Give Bunthorne some credit - even though he was an absolute sham in terms of *loving* poetry, he at least *wrote* all those poems himself (as far as old Billy G. let us know). In that sense, he was more like Cartman when he started that Christian rock band.
My todays Birthday couldn't be more perfect with a new Reaction Video with all 4 Homies and then It's Harry Potter which I was Fan of the since I was 2 or 3.
Have you noticed that none of the adults had done anything about the bludger ( I’m sorry if that’s spelled wrong it probably is) a similar thing happened in the first movie none of the adults did anything then either no wonder the kids have trust issues
Is it possible that the movie you are watching can be visible for us all the time? Now we see only bits and pieces. It's more fun to see what you're reacting to 🤷♀️
