@@chickenmcnuggets9669 Because Dolores was only bad if the ministry was bad. She was probably the most loyal person in the series, she followed the ministry literally no matter what, even if she knew the ministry was taken over, she would still follow the ministry. So she was bad, but only showed the bad side if she thought someone was a threat to the ministry. She was only cruel and against harry when the ministry was against him. So she’s a minor follower that is both bad and good depending on what position the ministry takes. The bad things Sirius has done are spread out along his whole life and they are evil and cruel decisions/plans he has made on his own. I see him and james as cowards during their school lives, although they have shown bravery out of school. The bad things he has done are usually very pathetic, cowardly, prejudiced, and he doesnt show remorse for these since he even repeats them at times.

This movie stands head and shoulders above the rest, but that's just my opinion 🙂

and something that the movies never explained is the importance of Professor Trelawney (Adivination teacher) The voice you hear in the premotion ball is hers and that's why she lives in the castle and teach there. Dumbledore protects her and not even her knows about it... she has no clue. So when Umbridge kick her out Dumbledure itself came out to prevent her from leaving. Hogwarts is the safest place in the magical world so that's why even with all this happening people keep sending their kids there.

in the book Voldemort was truly struggling in the fight against Dumbledore, also number 12 grimmauld place is solely owned by sirius because he is the last male of the house of black, with him dead now it goes to his heir which is harry but if there’s magic that prevents anyone not in the black family owning it then it goes to the next person in his bloodline

The only reason he needed to drink unicorn blood in the first movie is because he was in Quirrell's body, which is human form, and his body couldn't hold onto Voldemort's so that is why he was drinking unicorn blood to preserve Quirrell's body for Voldemort being a host onto him. That was just for that movie/book so you can really just forget about it. When he takes Harry in GOF he needs Harry blood to be able to touch him because of the blood spell his mother put on him, which he could not touch harry, that's how Quirrell died in PS. The part where she puts Fudge's picture down is because every single portrait can move and so if his portrait can move he can tale tell on her. Which you saw with Dumbledore's telling an old Headmaster portrait to send emergency to find Arthur Weasley is in trouble. In the books it actually helps them a bit.

No Hermione, Ron and Ginny cannot see the thestrals. To them it seems like they're flying on nothing. That part and where Luna & Neville help them get on the thestrals is left out of the movies. Yes. Neville can see them too since he saw his great-uncle die. There is normally no way to block the killing curse. That's why Harry is called The Boy Who Lived. He's the only one it's never killed because of his mother's sacrifice. A lot of people don't like this movie or book as much as others and in my opinion it's mainly because everyone despises Umbridge so much. There's a reason she is the most hated character in the Harry Potter universe with Bellatrix and Voldemort vying for 2nd place. Hagrid didn't explain about the unicorn blood. Firenze the centaur did. Later on it explains why Voldemort looks like he does and it has nothing to do with unicorn blood.

I'm so happy that you guys were so excited during Harry's possession by Voldemort. A lot of people find that "The power of love and friendship" is a bad cliché, when in reality it's not. This is nothing new. Tolkien, the father of modern fantasy, a wise old man who had seen war and death, believed also in love, friendship and kindness. Modern fantasy is made in Tolkien's fashion, it was created with the purpose of showing that mundane feelings are in fact much grander than any Dragon or Lord of Darkness and that if the smallest people (literally hobbits lol) can achieve their goals they do it with COURAGE and THE HELP OF OTHERS. Please either read the books or listen to good audiobooks, as you're all drawing really bad conclusions/interpretations from the films: 1. Cho didn't rat out the DA, her best friend Marietta did that. Cho defended her and believed Hermione's betrayal jinx was unfair, but Harry was fine with it and that is what broke them up. 2. Umbridge tried using veritaserum only on Harry, but he suspected something was off with the tea she gave him and didn't drink it. 3. Hermione is terrified of Grawp and never stood up to him; she is also terrified of flying. She is just as imperfect as others, but scriptwriters stole the accomplishments/lines of others (mostly Ron's or Harry's) and gave them to her. 4. Bellatrix did NOT use AK on Sirius. Her red spark spell knocked him through the veil and that is what killed him. 5. The prophecy didn't auto-play and Harry never gave the orb to Lucius. Neville tried to keep from stumbling and grabbed Harry's robe, dislodging it to crash on the floor. No one heard the prophecy because the room was too noisy. Dumbledore showed Harry the real memory only after they returned to his office and, yes, it mentions that, "one must kill the other, for neither can live while the other survives..." 6. Dumbledore negotiates the safe return of Umbridge. 7. The film fails to include why Harry lives with his Aunt Petunia. 8. The original HQ for the Order was in London, but it wasn't Grimmauld Place. The old location had to be considered compromised when betrayal was confirmed. Sirius loaned them his family home because his father hated visitors and had placed lots of protection spells on it years earlier. It couldn't even be plotted on a map. 9. Luna's message to Harry at the end was meant to encourage him that valuable things do return to you eventually. For him, this meant trust in his support system and the ability to experience more positive emotions during this war. 10. Umbridge didn't care about make-out sessions or tucked-in shirts. She was there to snuff out a perceived insurrection. 11. Fred and George NEVER interrupted student testing times, as they considered it a line to never cross.

The curse of the unicorn blood wasn't relevant to Voldemort because he was already living a half life. He just needed it to sustain him until he got his hands on the Philosopher's Stone, which would have restored him fully.
@denizkenger52
@denizkenger52 3 года назад
Well...the philosopher’s stone’s powers never promised such thing, to restore him fully. The powers of the stone are usually to make it so any metal can be turned i to gold and the elixir of life can be produced to prolong lifetime. Restoring one’s body is never mentioned as a property for the stone. Although, I do think the stone had more powers than the two I mentioned, but I’m saying this isn’t a fact.
@drmikebass
@drmikebass 3 года назад
@@denizkenger52 It doesn't go into detail, but the whole point of Voldemort stealing the Stone was that it would give him what he needed to return to a body. Whether this would be directly or as a stepping stone is not really important. The two salient points are that this was his first attempt to return to a body, and that the unicorn blood would do no more harm to him than had already been done. The same, of course, could not be said for Quirrel... As an aside, one can imagine V promising a terrified Quirrel that, once restored, he (V) would be able to undo the effects of the blood, and Quirrel, having gone this far out on a limb, doesn't dare disbelieve him. He might even have been telling the truth. After all, his knowledge of magic is, as Dumbledore notes, probably more extensive than any wizard alive.

Yeah, every ministry room has like a theme like "Time Room" "Death Room" etc. and the archway is supposed to be a gate to the afterlife, so Sirius dies and then his ghost passes through the gate, basically how everyone dies but with visualized by being in this specific room. The book actually does a CRAP job with what could be a good scene, maybe worse than the movie even, the confusion over whether he's just been teleported somewhere is just as prominent. He only needed to collapse and then his ghost leaves his body and gets sucked into the gate. But Rowling opted for a more confusing version for some reason.

14:55 Hermione here is basically me when I saw this movie in the cinema. When I saw _Goblet of Fire_ , I was bit iffy about seeing an M-rated movie under the age of 15, but this time it felt good being such a rebel punk. :)

The potion they used to Cho to tell the truth is a powerful one. The more you lie the more it hurts.. The pain is much worse than the "Crucio" spell.. and if you lie further you would wish you were dead...

Where are you guys searching for the wands? The licensed Noble Collection is $37 in their website or in their Amazon shop, there's also a $30 licensed version at Barnes and Noble, jus with simpler box. And there are also cheaper, licensed versions at Wal-Mart for around $13.00. These last ones have come in mystery packages, so you don't choose whose wand you get. ✌🏼😎 P.S: These are probably the beat reactions to Harry Potter. The investment you put into the story, and your discussions afterward make it so.

Harry can't live at Grimauld Place without Sirius: he has to live with family until he comes of age; godfather trumps uncle and aunt, but without Sirius, his only option is going back to the Dursleys.

i honestly don't see the bad acting with Hermione...not in this film or the #4: the only line of dialogue that sounded KIND of weird for Hermione was in Goblet of Fire when she said "go to bed you two" when she was mad at them at the dance. that was just weird...i get her being mad at Ron and upset that he didn't ask her out but that one line was just so out of context.

Unicorn blood save u from death, not make u immortal. the price he paid for slaying such a pure creature was living a half life in the form of living in the back of quirrels head. He was gonna use the stone to become immortal and rid himself of quirrels head. When harry Killed him he was back to being basically dead or like the tiny body creature. the unicorn blood didn’t come back after that as he paid the price by living in his head and its kinda gone now once he ‘died’

The starting point for the plot in the Harry Potter books was this prophecy! Dumbledore was searching for a divination teacher and he had an appointment with Sybil Trelawney. He knew that she was considered looney and fraud but she gave her a chance because she was descended from a notorious Seer, Cassandra Trelawney. Dumbledore was a bit disappointed from their meaning and he decided not to hire her. When he was about to leave Sybil Trelawney made this prophecy, about the downfall of Voldemort. Severus Snape (still active Death-Eater then) heard half of the prophecy and went to Voldemort to tell him. Dumbledore hired Sybil Trelawney because she was a charismatic seer and he wanted to protect her. Voldemort would try to heard the whole prophecy and by hiring her, Dumbledore kept her inside Hogwarts. She had 16+ years even walk outside of the Hogwarts grounds! Voldemort eventually learnt only the half prophecy about a boy that he would be his enemy and he went to kill baby Harry.

Here is something i have to say about two characters, namely Lucius and Umbridge and why they needed to exist to really make this franchise work. Hear me out. I think there is a very good reason, Joanne created Umbridge. It shows us, that eventhough someone is abiding by the law, it can still be morally wrong. I‘m from Germany. After world war 2 many Nazis claimed, that they only obeyed orders, because they would have been killed otherwise. Kinda like Lucius and many other death eaters claimed to have been influenced by the imperius curse… The german law encourages german soldiers, to disobey orders, if the order denies human dignity. Germans who commited war crimes during the war were abiding by the law. But these laws had been put there by the Nazis. They commited gruesome crimes and then later excused them by saying, that they had just obeyed orders. I find this fact extremely terrifying, it shows, that something that is supposed to keep you safe can be turned against you. That is why this movie especially creeps me out. Thank you for reading and have a nice day.

Even in the books, Sirius’ death was very quick and almost underwhelming that it makes sense how that’s how it’s portrayed in the movies. Not saying I like it, but it makes sense why it Is underwhelming in the movies

11:14 When I saw this movie as a kid, I completely misinterpreted this scene - I thought Harry was meant to write lines the normal way, and that he was intentionally writing on his hand as a means to *technically* have it sink it. And I thought that glare he gives Dolly afterwards was him looking guilty due to not wanting to be caught cheating.

Guys I think you are awesome and I am loving your reactions. I do need to point out though, why do guys in general have it so difficult with understanding that men and women can be really good friends and actually love each other without being romantic? Hermione and Harry were always friends, and they NEVER had romantic feelings for each other, neither in the movies nor in the books. That's actually one of the biggest and most important messages of the whole saga. FRIENDSHIP. And the fact that friendship is not worse, or weaker, or a 'downgrade' from romantic love. Being 'friend zoned' is not a punishment, but a privilege that should be cherished and honoured, because friendship IS powerful. That's what Harry Potter is about: love in all of its powerful ways. It's love in the wider sense. Love of a mother for her son (Lily-Harry), love among friends who are willing to die for each other (Harry, Hermione, Ron), undying romantic love even after death (Snape-Lily), love for goodness in the world (Dumbledore), love in 'found' family (Hagrid-Harry), etc.

Contrary to your opinion, I actually liked Hermione's acting. She actually portrayed it according to the books, in my opinion. She is an intelligent, know-it-all person (according to Snape), so mostly she is overacting to things that she cannot control and anything that makes her upset. She expresses her emotions in a way that appear as overacting. If you read the books, I'm sure you will understand.

This made my head HURT! Watching ya'll try to figure stuff out at the end and your "expert" also not knowing wtf is going on...the blind leading the blind. LMBO Ya'll should just read the books; do not even waste time listening to your friend that claims to know what's going on because he doesn't. Or, better yet, just PAY ATTENTION to what the characters SAY in the movies instead of talking over them! Luna LITERALLY told you and Harry Potter all about the thestrals and why they can't be seen by everyone. This is my first time watching ya'll and I'm not feeling too hopeful for watching the later reactions as they contain even more important details.

Don’t get hung up on the nose. The writer of the books was very vague about how and when he lost his nose. All you know is teenager Tom Riddle had a nose, adult Voldemort does not. Get more hung up on nobody is shown a photograph of Voldemort, so nobody knows what he looks like, so why would Lupin think Harry’s fear was Voldemort in the 3rd movie?
