I am just as excited about this game coming out as everyone else, but I do have some criticisms about some things I noticed in this video. I admit I didn't watch the whole video because I didn't want to spoil all of it for myself, as well as the fact that I have seen many of these scenes already in previous videos. Now I'm sure half of my points will be fixed before the global release, but there's other things that I'm not sure if anyone caught, but still felt the need to mention: - Lip syncing is incorrect: this was a big thing I noticed through out the whole video where characters' lips would start or stop moving when audio wasn't playing, or they just didn't move at all when audio was playing, so it didn't match up right. There were also a lot of places where the audio didn't match the subtitles and it was quite distracting. - Out of Place Animation: There were a few times in the video where an object in an animation would glitch through a character, such as Lottie's notebook when the group found Gossomer in the common room. The notebook glitched through Lottie's hand and spun around in a way that doesn't make sense. Also there were some animations and facial expressions that the characters made that didn't seem to make sense either. Like Ivy looking happy when she says that she thinks someone was stalking her. I get that this is probably just a static/idle facial expression, but I think more dynamic facial expressions would help a lot in conveying emotion as well as possibly cut down on the amount of full body animations needed, as some of those seemed too expressive for some scenes as well. - Pacing: There were places where some characters were just standing around or there were long pauses between what characters said and then what characters did next. For example at the beginning of the video when McGonagall was talking to the 3 students there was a moment where nothing was happening, there was no vocal audio playing and it was just jarring. Just left me thinking, "what's happening?", but I knew it wasn't a hardware issue like lag, it was part of the scene. - Story Continuity: This wasn't as prevalent throughout the video, but it can be a huge distraction and super confusing and frustrating to the player when it does come up. I don't know if this is a change in the story from previous videos, but when the main character and Daniel find Ivy, Ivy exclaims, "Daniel!" as if she already met him. Now in previous videos neither the main character nor Daniel knew of her prior to the sorting ceremony and when they did learn of her they only knew her name. The only character that actually saw and possibly talked to her, was Kevin. I also thought this might have been an audio glitch as it didn't match with the subtitles, but I wasn't sure. - Cursor on Screen: This is more of a personal pet peeve and a little less about the game, but when scenes are taking place, it was driving me crazy that the cursor was right in the middle of the screen. There were times that it was covering a characters whole face and instinctively I went to go move my mouse, thinking it was my cursor in the way, but then realized it was part of the video and then got more annoyed because I couldn't move it, I just had to live with it lol. Obviously these are not huge breaking changes, but they're more quality of life kind of things. I bring this up mainly because these things didn't come up in previous videos with the same scenes and I just wanted to make sure that they're being addressed. Regardless I appreciate the updates, I appreciate and congratulate the work that everyone is doing and I love the direction that the game is going in. Keep up the fantastic work!
