You're absolutely correct, Lyall! However, the Harry Potter great hall set design was based on the Christ Church College great hall seen in the video. Have you seen the Professor Chas Chat video about Oxford? Go to the HPP channel and click on the Harry Potter Places Book Two--OWLs link. CHAS

Wait...I'm confused. Didn't they build the set for the great hall in the sound studio or did they use the real location for certain films and then later the studio set? Cause last I checked they built the great hall for the films.

In Harry Potter and the philosopher´s stone the dining scene was filmed at the location. In all other movies the scenes were filmed in a studio.

I may be going there next year, do you think they'd mind if I went to class dressed in Slytherin robes with my wand in hand, my Slytherin scarf around my neck and the Sorting Hat on my head ?
