I was telling my wife who’s a huge Harry Potter fan that there used to be a quidditch game back when I was a kid that my brothers and I played the crap out of. When I saw this was releasing I had so many memories come back to me.
Played the tutorial and a couple of AI matches and I have to say, the game is quite fun and exceeded my expectations. My biggest fear was that the physics would feel floaty and cheap, but it has enough weight and speed to it to feel exciting. Seems like a great foundation to build on imo.
I played this game this morning for 1 hour before I got ready for work and I love it!!! Its like a magical combination of basketball, baseball, football and soccer. Can't wait to play more of it.
If you start off in Career Mode, there are 4 cups. Garden Cup: Set at the Burrow, 2 teams. Hogwarts Cup: Set at Hogwarts, with the four houses. Tri-Wizard Cup: Set within Europe, a cup between Hogwarts, Beauxbatons & Durmstrung. World Cup: Set within the whole world. Personally I would have preferred to see an expanded Europe Cup instead of the Tri-Wizard Cup... Like they're literally going from 4 teams to 3 teams to 16(?) teams. Feels a bit wonky.
@@topazphoenix6301 I think it is a slow build. I kinda like it because it does feel like a true "Career" mode, and not just straight into the world league.
Think most people hating because they should put this in hogwarts legacy i am harry potter fan but probably not get this game i like more lore gameplay story then just quidditch
People wanted Hogwarts Legacy to be too many things: an Elden Ring RPG, a Slice of Life Anime School simulator, a Quidditch sports game, etc. It was the correct move to make a proper quidditch game, rather than try to shoe-horn a half-assed mini-game or DLC into Hogwarts Legacy.
I'll just say that i would definitely like this game to be more adult and realistic, this felt like the philosopher stone version, whereas i would prefer half blood prince version. There are lotta limitations, little diversity, over-abundance of unrealistic unnecessary magic-esque flourishes (like scoring a goal) and unfortunately not very canon-friendly (the beater should only aim at the bludger not the players, that's ridiculous)
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the style. This what the Harry Potter world should look like. It's supposed to be colorful and whimsical and fun and quirky. Go read the books. Even through the dark tones the world still feels like a silly cartoon. Harry Potter should have been a series of CGI animated movies, not live action.
Quidditch is a completely ridiculous, over the top sport so I'm happy the game leaned into that instead of making it gritty and realistic. I'm also not too fussed about them straying away from canon slightly for this game. If everything was canon then the snitch would be 150 points and would render everything else everyone has done in the game useless.
@@MikeBird95 hmm... Interesting. I disagree with ur opinion but also respect it. Did u like the voiceovers in the game? I thought they were a bit cringy, they felt too sugar coated
There is no reason for Gryffindors score banner and boost rings to be blue opposed to red and etc for the other teams 🙄 I mean ima buy it, but little details like that would make all the difference
I remember playing Hare Potter and the Quidditch Championship for PS2 this on the other hand is on a whole other level seems more difficult too love how the Beaters work in this game tbh
Such a big HP fan, but really wishing this was just included in legacy, or even DLC, feels a bit like rocket league on brooms with lack of HP flare. Don't get me wrong, loving your stuff
I get it for the game that's a snitch has less points but for the books and the movie it makes more sense that it is so hard because it's one of those that makes it really really hard to catch it's why it's so amazing to see it one at first came to the screen and how much of an impact that had one harry able to catch it ,
Still don’t like how they kept this separate from the main game. You can explore so much more of the stadium in the legacy. Since legacy 2 is confirmed. I wouldn’t mind if they did a 2k city kinda thing.
It definately looks better heavily edited like these videos. The AI looks really bad from what i have seen of full matches and there is a bit of just going through the motions. I want to love and get this game but something seems off
The only thing I don’t like is that I would rather just play one position and build around it but sometimes I make mistakes and switch to another position who isn’t my main haha
I like how this game isn’t even faithful to the actual game of quidditch first off there are 7 players per team not 6, and catching the snitch ends the game and an automatic win. This game is nowhere near faithful to quidditch. Like did the developers even do research on how quidditch is supposed to be played before making this game?
First, catching the snitch was not an automatic win. Case in point Krum in the World Cup caught the snitch but his team lost the game. I think they felt they had to change it by giving the player the option to not HAVE to play as seeker.
You can get way more than 100 points in the main quidditch game. They can go for months. It only ends when you catch the Golden Snitch and you get 150 points. Usually the team who gets the Snitch wins because of that, but not always
I’m confused, for months people including me were ready to trash this game but it’s not getting the response I thought it would. Might have to try haha
