For the first time in like 20 years I am not excited about a ICC tournament. The thrill of these tournaments have gone down drastically. This is the 4th WC in 4 consecutive years lol. I remember waiting long time to see players play in the world cup. And now that it happens every year no player takes it that seriously. A loss doesn't even feel that bad for players. They feel like there will be more opportunities. Back then wcs meant a lot to players and they put in their best performances. Which is why there isnt that much talk or hype about the wc. Its just another tournament and I don't expect anything different from this team either. They are going to make the same mistakes and play the same way. The squad picked says it all. Nobody is willing to change anything or make big calls. They are just playing it safe. There are so many issues with this squad and as the tournament goes on they will be found out.
Where well said bro. And that too scheduling within no time after IPL. ICC should rethink about it, if not interest in cricket will fade away day by day.
India picked a safe team.. We are inherently insecure people and always look for safety and security.. But I don think anyone wins being safe.. This team will reach knockouts but I have my doubts regarding the tournament all the way ..
exactly. x Factors win you games. although i think there are some x Factors in this team, like pant and sky. but it would have been better if they'd have taken rinku, natarajan as well.
Haven’t we been doing the same since 2007? Only World Cup we won was with an *UNSAFE TEAM* 😝 since then we have perfected the art of how to not win a T20 World Cup. I had no hope after that World Cup. Since we went back to *Process* which can yield results in longer formats. This format only needed freshness fearlessness and simplicity.
Baring chahal for Sandeep selectors have picked the same team which he had predicted in his last video. It looks that selectors watch his video and got influenced.
Its not possible to fit him in 11, to fit rinku in the 11 they have to remove one of jaiswal, rohit, kohli or suryakumar which everyone knows is not possible thats why he is the reserves for any batter but not in 15 as he couldn't have been included in 11 without any of these 4 getting ruled out
@@akshatkhedekar8561Agree your point..but the main question is..why it not possible to drop Rohit or Kohli? Imo, Rinku should be one of the first names written in the playing sheet. After a long time,we got a finisher of quality after MSD. Why can't Virat Kohli be unfortunate to miss out? It's high time that we realise that these guys (selectors for selecting 15 and team management for selecting 11) are actually not doing there job properly and we find ways to not let them monetise from our passion!

Don’t understand why experts are not saying about our seamers! On what basis Siraj is selected in the team with no such performance in last 7-8 months period?
Where exactly? Red ball he has been great....white ball last time I remember played in Wc took 14 wickets had a better sr than kuldeep he is tested at that level,we can't go with nttu/sandeep I guess you would remember we took Chakravarty and chahar in place of kuldeep and chahal just on basis of ipl and we were humiliated
then maybe u shld ask the same for arshadeep and padya to . at time confidence wins the race and believe it or not siraj is seen to be the future bumrah (place wise not skill)
My only concern is WHAT IFFFFF, while batting first kohli decides to anchor one end and then you get to a situation where india are 115/3 at the end of 15 overs leaving the likes of sky, samson and dube with just 5 overs to try and push past the total above 180 on a small ground. Virat while chasing is a different beast but he's got to be more aggressive while batting first, the indian batting lineup is a lot more stable than rcb's.

This team has been picked on pure reputation instead of current form, after the 50 over world cup the selectors should have selected a young side like we did in 2007 world cup but unfortunately this selection committee lacks vision I just hope for billions of Indian fans sake that India lift the trophy this time aroumd!!
It will be a miracle if India wins tge Cup with this team. Neither Arshdeep nor Hardik are world class bowlers in this format. Both are frequently wayward..Besides SKy , Dube and Sampson none of the others have a 200 strike rate, an essential to win at this level. Rinku is a big miss. Just look at SA and Australia to understand the meaning of formidable.
Jaiswal can also score quickly . Unfortunately India does not have physically strong players like Miller ,Klasen ,Stoinis or whole of English batters .Only person who can smack big sixes are Shahrukh and Dubey and one of them is not up to the level
Rohit Sharma as opener in T20 World Cups 22 innings 548 runs 26 average 117 strike rate Against big teams like pakistan, England, Australia, south africa and new zealand 11 innings 140 runs 12.7 average 102 strike rate Still in which base rohit getting chance again and again 🤦
Dravid and agarkar quota, rohit was surely excluded from t20 after 2022 wc but agarkar brought him back and after looking at his form in this worldcup and hardik's unavailability they went with rohit
And what’s Jaiswal for if Kohli has to open? Your logic is flawed. Kohli should come in at 3, which can essentially be like opening if an early wicket is lost (for which chances are high). But if the opening partnership survives the powerplay, then Kohli at No:3 can consolidate the innings while other hitters play around him. This is what lends stability to the batting line-up.
😊 Harsha mentioned Hardik's name 9 times in a vdo < 6 mins. Sorry 😔.....the chances of winning this T20 WC was compromised long back...... BCCI(and it's brokers) cannot afford to prepare a team without Rohit, Kohli,Hardik,Jadeja....just bocz of the huge brand value (advertisement, political hold, bookie pressure)they carry.

If India wants to win a T-20 World Cup then they have to adopt the formula of 2007 World cup winning team. Some young aggressive players who are made for this T-20 format needs to be selected. Enough of this Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja shit. Selectors should have gone with players like Abhishek Sharma and Rinku Singh who can change the course of the game within 10-15 balls. This format doesn't demand stability but fearless approach which can be provided by these youngsters just give them license and let them do what they do best by following this approach we can lose the world cup in worst case but that's what have been happening since 2014 at least this time around we would have tried something new.
I don't disagree necessarily. But the counterpoint is that T20 world cups have been much lower scoring games until now. Unlikely to change this year considering the location.
Bang on point man, They took the backward step from the Afghanistan series. I would have made SKY the Captain and groom Gill in deputy's role. No off-Spinner in the team baffles me.
Agree with rohit and jadeja due to whom we lost many cups but what virat did wrong? He still is 2nd or 3rd highest strikerate batter in 16-20 overs in t20 internationals
I am waiting for the day when Mr Harsha Bhogle will air his views in an unfiltered manner, in the way Mr Gavaskar does. Mr Bhogle is an ocean of knowledge and a no-holds-barred Bhogle will be a treat to listen to.
Not going to happen. His livelihood depends on sucking up to the BCCI. He would become persona-non-grata if it even appears that he is questioning a BCCI decision. Gavaskar has earned some lee-way. He is allowed to say max 3 things per year that might appear to be questioning BCCI decisions. Anything more than that, and he'd be in trouble. Gavaskar is smart enough to limit it to 2. Maybe if you meet him (Bhogle) in person someday and he is absolutely sure that he is not being recorded, he might just, just might say a thing or two.
Hi Harsha , There are 2 huge positives with regards to India squad in current situation 1.In the unexpected absence of Rinku Singh in the main squad and the current squad picked based on reputation ( not form ) ,the expectations of fans will be under control ( because as of today no one has 100 percent sure that this team can win the cup) 2.The recent failures of the Indian team in Icc knock out tournaments ( last 10 years) have set the expectation to fans that failures are likely given we are competing with high profile T20 teams like Australia,England, South Africa. To sum up ,the expectation factor could be a blessing in disguise for the team to perform beyond expectation
Rituraj will come in this team as he is one batsman who can win matches !! Rinku is another finisher who will be in this team !! Hardik....big question mark as out of form !!
Gill didn't perform. But what about superstars choking every wc? Youngsters will play freely but experienced heads should close out the game, else no point in picking them. Pick a boom or bust young squad which can play without baggage of losing@@Couldbebetter100
As much as i want JAiswal in the mix,the windies pitches need someone like kohli and samson at top to take the innings deep so that the firepower like sky dube hardik jadeja axar can finish it off and since Rohit is also at the top i think we can have assurance that a batting collapse wont happen even if rohit misfire in some match but will still give momentum
After playing so much cricket in the IPL, I expect the team to be fatigued and that will show in their performance. I hope them to do well but not very optimistic.
Everyone knows that team balance has been sacrificed to accommodate 2 superstars. So you & the entire selection panel knows that team's winning chances have become secondary to egos of 2 superstars. Hopefully, with this WC failure, the "individuals before team" culture is done away with. Hope it also gives enough courage to the selectors to tell both superstars that it's time you both hang up your colored jerseys & do justice to many talented & DESERVING youngsters. Maybe it will give chance for BCCI to finally get rid of another superstar Indian Coaching staff & bring in professional high-performance coaching setup that Indian team very much needs.
@keerthichandra376 All these cricket experts from know very well any Indian cricketer who is considered more senior will perform well in the early stages of big tournaments & will eventually succumb to increasing pressure as the tournament progress & just implode within themselves. Indian team with more seniors in the team is just a sitting duck in big tournament. Especially the seniors in the current Indian team have proved that they will implode & hurt teams chances heaps of times (easily 5 times in last 2-3 years). So what's the point if Virat scores 500 runs or 500billion runs in IPL, it counts for nothing. His scores towards end of WC will all be in single digits. Same with Rohit, he will score 100s upon 100s until eliminator type game is seen. If it is an eliminator type of game then statistically speaking they both will fail 9.5 times out of 10. Do you really wanna see both these giving that same dejected look after losing an eliminator & simply saying just 15min or 0.5hr of bad play cost us. Haven't we seen this enough?
Yup I think that this will be our team, But If SANJU plays then he will bat at no.3 and if Rishabh plays then there could be changes acc to the situation if the PP is over then SKY will come at no.3 but if it's not over then I think Rishabh has to play at No.3.All things written here could be wrong if jaiswal opens 😂 ..I think they will give him some chances for suree
@@aryanchoudhary6001 Yes, if Samson plays he goes at 3, if Pant plays he goes at 4/5.. but I personally wouldn't play Pant at 3 in any situation and I too want Jaiswal to get some chances maybe we could do that by dropping a spinner for a couple of matches
rohit purely on captaincy quota people talk about kohli s strike rate he scored 500 runs at 150 , rohit hasn't scored runs and sr isn't good either , basically gifts his wicket in powerplay everytime and this guy is opening for india over abhishek gill ruturaj and not to forget his horror t 20 wc stats but what can we say when his fans bring ( selfless ) in the argument 🤣🤣 it's easy to be selfless when you don't score at all
Doesn't look like this team will cross the semifinal stage..its almost the same team as in 50 over WC which is really predictable...the team is picked up based on reputation and brand names...let see if we get a different result with the same team.
Rohit, Kohli, Sanju, SKY and Dube is the winning combination. Sanju will give a lot of guts and glory to this batting combination and will ensure that SKY has a bit more time to read the conditions before he unleashes himself, and Shivam Dube will be icing on the cake.
Sanju should be have more preference then pant as he can play in no 3 he is very good against spinner and can hit from 1st ball Samson should play one down and Virat open it’s better and if so we can add dune into playing xi too if Virat opens and Sanju at no 3,sky at no 4( he playes in this place for international as we seen before),5)dube,6)hardik ,7)Axar or jaddu ,8)Kuldeep,9) yuzi/Arshdeep,10) Siraj ,11) boom boom 💥
Among the top 7 only VK has scored consistently in IPL. Rest are either out of form or scored runs against only weaker bowling units. Probably for the first time I am not excited about the team even before going to tournament. Even in 2007, I was disappointed only after losing the tournament.

Team with highest team morale and when team members complement each other will win World Cup. With so much politics between Captain, VC, and team dynamics who to play, who not to play and not sure about permanent 11. It’s going to be tough for Indian team winning any cups.
Semi final pitches are same as MI vs KKR played on 4 may 2024 Mumbai pitch, we need someone like Virat to hold from one end, atleast for 4 overs. PP 35/1 is good on those pitches
Virat will bat so deep that he just won’t get out and the final score will be 165 as against 215 but Virat will get credited for notching a beautiful 50 runs off 41 balls
But that just Destroys all the plans in Middle order..If Jaiswal opens then Shivam dube can't be in the team without the exclusion of Hardik..because Sky will definitely be in the 11 and then one wk (Rishabh or Sanju) and then you have the choice to pick either Hardik or Shivam..Last thing Virat has a good record when opening in T20I..

@@dashmeetsingh9679 I was only biased towards a player who played well and showed some responsibility. Plus, numbers may not mean everything but they do mean a lot of things. If Virat opens then Samson can play at 3 and that allows India to play Shivam Dube to play the middle overs. It's hard on Jaiswal but Shivam should be fitted in the XI.
I feel they will and should go with Rohit Virat Sanju Surya Dube Hardik Jadeja Axar/ Chahal Kuldeep Siraj / Arshadeep Bumrah ( I wish they would have brought someone like Sandeep or Natraj who could fire yorkers more consistently)
Tilak Varma's omission is surprising. As you said sir, one among Sandeep Sharma, Natarajan or a new face should have been picked. Like an X factor somebody like Nitish Kumar Reddy would have been a good pick.
I just hope that they play jaiswal he is just 1 of only 2 batter other than sky who plays at over 150 st rate in international t20 rest r all below 140 and with the bowling we have we need atleast 180 plus every match except usa and ireland If we play conservative we will loose again
Lol, it's because jaiswal started playing t20is in 2023 where the game has changed nowadays everyone strikes around 150. Kohli and Rohit too. Nothing special in that.
Jaiswal , Rohit, Kohli , SKY, Dube, Samson, Hardik, Jadeja , Kuldeep, Bumrah, Arshdeep. An Opener Should always play like a opener not like a anchor his role is smash as much as in 1st Six Overs.
In my book, neither Rohit nor Virat or Hardik make it to the T20 squad. Just dinosaurs who will continue until a Travis Head or Pat Cummins meteor hits.
If Rohit and Virat do open, and when you have Sanju who can slot in as a back up opener if one of the openers gets injured, Why did they need to pick Yashasvi Jaiswal? If your first XI is set, is it not better to have a back up batter like Rinku, who can slot in anywhere from number 4 to number 7, instead of having a specialist back up opener?
Weaknesses- All right handers in the Top 4 and everyone struggles against Left arm orthodox spinners (except Samson to some extent)..So Samson will have much more responsibility to take on spinners..Top 3 will play the most balls in the innings and Dube will have very few deliveries to make an impact. He might not even face much spin which is his main strength...
India can have 2 fast bowlers, 2 all rounders bowling the next 4 overs between them (hardik and Dube), and two spinners. Rohit, Jaiswal, Virat, Suryakymar, Dube, Samson, hardik, Jadeja, kuldeep, Siraj, Bumrah. But i wish they had selected T natarajan and Sandeep sharma.
@@Dr.Phoenix Yes and there is the problem. Dube isn't bowling much. Pandya is out of form. Jadeja usually goes wicketless in T20s. In a nutshell 8 overs will be just defensive bowling with no chances of wickets
You said an entire month is remaining for Hardik to come good. How so? He plays for Mumbai, who’s out of the IPL playoffs. The playoffs start in just over 2 weeks and the final is just 3 weeks away. So Hardik only has 3 more matches to find his bearings. How do you get paid crores for commentary when you can’t get basic facts right?

Having Rohit Sharma ,and Virat Kohli as openers is the best choice. One can dictate the play allowing Rohit to freely bat without worries about being the captain. At number 3 you can have an absolute leader in Sanju Samson who frees himself like a bird in such situations. SKY at 4 is similar to ABD at 4 in some sense you can ask him to anchor the innings when needed and dance when needed. Shivam Dube at 5 or Rishabh Pant at 5 is same left handed magician who can go big bang boom. I pick Dube for now. At 6 as a batsman or as a bowler regardless Hardik should be ready. In terms of Bowling its about the pitches now. On a carrabean track you go for Jadeja, Kuldeep, Chahal, Bumrah, Arshdeep. On a seaming track you go for Axar, Kuldeeep, Arshdeep, Bumrah and Siraj.

Rohit, Jaiswal, Kohli, SKY, Pant/Samson, Hardik, Axar, Chahal, Kuldeep, Bumrah, Arshdeep Top 6 has a left hander/two left handers, keeper, 4 overs. Both wrist spinners and Axar as the third spinner. Arshdeep starts ahead of Siraj coz he has the left arm angle
Top 5 issues with the squad: 1. Doesn't make sense to have 4 spinners in the squad. Should replace Axar / Jadeja with Abhishek Sharma & Yuzvendra Chahal with Riyan Parag. Abhishek Sharma & Riyan Parag provide sufficient spinning options while also providing solid batting depth. 2. Pant in no manner has been able prove himself in T20Is with excessive opportunities given. 66 matches ; 22.43 average ; 126.37 SR.! To give context on the number of opportunities given to Pant, Pant has played 10th highest number of T20I matches in the history of Indian cricket! Would have chosen Dinesh Karthik over him. 3. Mohammad Siraj is definitely not a T20 bowler. Aside from Arshdeep, Mayank Yadav is the only potential bowler who has the ability to be a genuine 2nd pacer beside Bumrah. 4. The current squad definitely lacks a bonafide and reliable finisher! No player in the country has the pedigree to match Rinku Singh's ability to finish games. 5. @@Couldbebetter100 I actually agree with you. And in my opinion Dinesh Karthik should be the first option keeper-batsman. But what is also true is that Samson hasn't got as many opportunities compared to Pant. Pant played 66 matches in the past 5 years; Samson played 25 matches in the past 9 years. According to those numbers, Pant got 5 times more opportunity per year than Samson since their T20I debut. But then the issue is there isn't a consistent and reliable keeper batsmen in India specially since Dhoni retired and KL crapped in the previous T20I WC. You still need 2 quality keeper batsmen in the squad. Prabhsimran and Abhishek Porel are promising talents, but they still need to prove themselves on bigger platforms. Then there's Dhruv Jurel, Ishan Kishan and Jitesh Sharma who also have issues with consistency.
Not the best options but even then: 1. Rohit 2. Jaiswal 3. Samson 4. SKY 5. Dube 6. Hardik 7. Jadeja 8. Axar 9. Kuldeep 10. Bumrah 11. Arshdeep If Dube/Hardik can bowl 4 overs or so, this side will work as then you can rotate bowlers. And no, there is no place for both Rohit and Virat in the squad. We need people to maximize the powerplay and not just anchor and play a ODI innings.
Have u seen dube bowl? He's terrible dude, he's not a good all rounder, if he's there he's there only for the batting, and at the most for 1 bowling over
Dont see us lifting trophy.reason is simple,it is a safe team with no nowling option at top 4 5 and all rounders going to be a huge asset, the way t20 is evolved.
When the last time india won a world cup... A kerala player was there on both occasions... Sreesanth.... Now sanju also selected... Will history repeats..?
If Hardik cant bowl at full capacity, I think team management needs to rethink their decision of including him in playing 11. There are better aggressive and consistent power hitters sitting outside playing 11.
If 2024 t20wc exit bring a revolutionary change in the future of indian cricket, i would take it... 1. Grooming Rinku Singh for more than year and leaving him for a senior player 2. Going with lesser impactful out of form end over specialists bowlers like siraj and Arshdeep 3. 2022 to 2024 many youngsters only played the international t20 cricket for nothing because the playing 11 literally looks almost similar to 2022 wc squad 🤦🏻
Rohit Jaiswal kohli Sky Pant Dubey Hardik Boom Kuldeep Arshdeep Yuzi. Another combination with Dubey the 6th bowler and then firepower in batting in the end overs along with 2 wrist spinners which will give wickets in middle overs
If you want to win World Cup you have to choose best players for the position. Just to keep him in the playing xi you cannot promote Kohli to opening. There are many batters who are better at opening then Virat in t20i format.
Surprised to see Harsha doesn't have Yashaswi Jaiswal in his XI. The likely XI on a spin-assist track can very well be: 1. Rohit 2. Jaiswal 3. Virat 4. Suryakumar 5. Shivam Dube 6. Pant 7. Hardik 8. Jadeja 9. Axar 10. Kuldeep 11. Bumrah Provided it is not a spin friendly pitch, one of the spinners (likely to be Axar) will be replaced by Arshadeep/Siraj. For me, Jaiswal is a must have batter in India's XI.
HAND-ON-HEART Harsha, do you really believe this team can win WC? Ok, can you please analyze all teams & make a video about teams with very light on bowling strength? I wanna see where you place India in that list.
As much as i want pant in the 11 I feel sanju is a better option. Sanju can be a reliable no.3 with surya coming at 4. For me this is the ideal 11 Rohit Virat Sanju Surya Hardik Dube Jaddu Bumarh Arshdeep Chahal Kuldeep This gives us a lot of bowling options. The only question mark here is the hitting ability of guys like hardik and jaddu. If they can get back to their destructive self then we have a very good chance.
If Rohit and Kohli open, then Pant has to bat at no.3, that would be the best slot for him to bat and also after 2 right handers, a left hander will come in, then Rohit, Kohli, Pant (wk), Surya, Dube, Hardik, Jadeja that's the batting
India selecting dube and jadeja and Australia leaving matt short and smith, just shows, why India would look back and say " where we lost this world cup?"
