Harsil is a small village in Uttarkashi District of Uttarkhand. It is often referred to as Mini Switzerland of India. Harsil is famous for its Apple and kidney beans farming. It is situated on the banks of Bhagirathi River at an elevation of 2620 mts above sea level. It's just 20 kilometers far from Gangotri. Ganga originates as river Bhagirathi from Gaumukh Glacier.
