Gosh !!! Doesn't Hartlepool look like it has really benefited from the local voters either voting Tory or choosing to stay at home on GE day ? Deserted streets....deserted car parks......derelict pubs; you know things are really bad when even the local bingo hall is boarded up ! Still, this is presumably the dynamic economic re-generation Boris and the hapless new Tory MP promised...LOL You get what you voted for.
@@ECLKWRIG You pitched it as if this only because Hartlepool has a Tory MP, when I am arguing the same outcome would have happened with any parties MP. “You get what you voted for”, indicating there would be a better option?
@@mountaindewmartin7204 Actually, although Mandleson was an arch war criminal along with his pal Tony Blairs, the town did see a huge uplift in it's fortunes during those years and yes, this was partly to do with his pal Tony Blairs being PM at the time, but also because Labour recognising that in modern monetary theory and the days of fiat currency systems, governments can increase public spending, which in turn pumps money into the real economy and creates prosperity, did so. And the totally unnecessary austerity imposed after has damaged the economy and caused widespread hardship, just as the IMF warned it was doing!
The Tories have been in power for 12 years… how’s it Labours fault??? They once hung a monkey in Hartlepool, thinking it was a French spy!!! They voted for Boris Johnson, thinking he and the Tories where Human Beings! So what has voting Tory and Brexit done for Hartlepool?? About as much use as hanging a monkey did for French Espionage!!!…
As much as I hate Mandleson, Hartlepool flourished when he was MP. It started to go downhill post 2008, financial crisis but more so after the tory's austerity measure continued to ravish the more deprived areas.
@@FreeBrunoPowroznik totally agree I live in Blackhall Colliery a village just north of Hartlepool and been 53 I remember the damage the Torries done in the 1980s and 90s done to surrounding areas that's what pissed me of when the Torries won election there.
