I BOUGHT THIS GAME TODAY BECAUSE I WANTED TO PLAY A CUTE, SILLY PIGEON DATING GAME. TWO HOURS AND MANY QUIET CONVERSATIONS IN THE LIBRARY LATER, I GOT MY FIRST ENDING AMND NO WTF THIS GAME IUS NOT SUPPOSE DGTO TEAR OUT MY HEART LIKE THISN THEGYR E BIRDS WHY AM I SAD WHY MUST IT DESTROY ME LIKE THIS NAGEKI NO

Oh man, I nerver had thought that a pigeon-dating-game could be that awesome.

I recently 100% completed this game and let me tell you...this goes much further than simply being a silly pigeon dating sim. There's some heavy stuff to uncover. Also, while Nageki's route did make me really sad, I always found myself crying on Ryouta's ending. ; 3 ;

...Ah man, this game could very well be my favorite game...or at least, really REALLY up there. I love stories with Character and development, and this game has both...SO MUCH OF CHARACTERS AND THEIR DEVELOPMENT! The story is so rich and amazing, I cannot begin to describe it. And, for the very first time, I love EVERY character. The main human character and her stupidity, Ryouta and his kind, loving personality, Sakuya and his deep backstory, Yuuya and his heroic deed, Okosan and his...Okosan-ness..., Nanaki and his deep back history, Nageki and his depressing back history, Anghel and his mystery...and let us not forget Shuu and his evil yet amazing charm. And the side characters are amazing, too. This game is all around my favorite game I have ever witnessed. As a Novelist to be, this was one amazing Novel!

This game.... this goddamn game, man. I'm actaully really sad that most people will take one look at the title screen and write it off as "Just another weird Japanese dating sim".

Hatoful Boyfriend= 2nd favourite game of all time. This theme= favourite video game music track EVER!

I bought it during the Steam Sales because there were birds in it. I first thought it was a bit wierd, but then I was unable to stop playing it untill I completed the full story. ^^And I've to say I found it awesome and pretty moving at some point. I'm going to buy Holiday Star really soon :3

SPOILERS if you do play it, you should buy the whole version. the actual dating part isn't even the game, the story is pretty screwed up and there is a headcanon that the romancy part is the delirious stories that the main character's best friend told her while they slowly died in a cold storage, or that the main character was just on a really severe drug trip and there weren't any birds at all
