@@ge3344Yes, but those people tend to get hit with the “she’s been redeemed!” and “she’s good now!” Plus no body in the actual show ever calls her out, it got swept aside in Crystalized. Hell we don’t even get an actual answer as to whether or not she’s going to jail. It was left up to interpretation 😂

You know… you’re right… maybe a proper Harumi redemption could involve Arin in some way (As they both lost their parents, but went down different paths)

Hey isle, the reason why arin turned out the way he is that he’s not certain they are dead unlike with Harumi’s and also to add Arin grew up eh not fancy but had close care, while Harumi lacked that care and had empty riches. Maybe he’s the only way to salvage Harumi after Tommy left that joke of an “arc”, also it’s sad that avatar harumi actual had more time to sound sorry and would have been better if they didn’t touch her arc if they clearly didn’t care enough.

And this is why Arin is a better character then Harumi. Cause he doesn’t blame the ninja for his parents loss for any bs reason.

I know right!! People think they are a good ship but I keep reminding them NO! Harumi is toxic towards Lloyd and just abused Lloyd's emotions. Its SUPER frustrating

People in abusive relationships who suffer mental and physical pain from their partner almost always defend them with the same words: I love him/her and I can fix him/her because “I can do it”. (But in most cases the relationship does not change and remains that way). I really feel bad that Crystallized sent such an awful (and dangerous) message: stay in cruel and abusive relationship because what matters is that "you love" your partner and just hope that they “maybe” change.

The Owl House handles it much better.

The thing is. Pythor in Tournament 1. Only helped the good guys to get rid of the fakes. And 2. Pythor’s arc in Tournament was probably paced. Harumi’s redemption 1. Came out of nowhere due to horrible pacing. And 2. Was a part of a very much messily written and controversial Ninjago season.

@IsleofPigsStudios Well, I think the pacing was pretty bad for both of them, and Pythor at the end of rebooted and at the start of toe were almost two completely different personalities. And the fact that Harumi is a more controversial character (in a contraversial season) shouldn't influence the fact that her sudden change is seen as way worse than Pythor's.

@@JuwGus I’m not sure if you will agree… but I think Zeta (The Angry Birds Movie 2) had a worse redemption arc both of them. She only changed sides because Debbie could have died and that Mighty Eagle made up for his mistake. Zeta gets zero consequences. At least with Harumi in Crystalized you can imply that she was arrested. Zeta got nothing. Pythor was rewarded by the generals because he helped fight the imposters, and Harumi had a valid reason for snapping. Zeta gets no excuse for getting off scott free.

Hi isle, I like to ask crusty and daily personally if Tommy cared enough making crystalized to which I say no. Since if Garmadon and a plant arc did ok, why not a redemption for Harumi where she turns herself in exchange for ninja being pardoned.

I personally think Harumi’s redemption would have been better had the pacing of Crystalized not been as garbage as it is. Had Crystalized been a 22 Minute episode season, then the Pacing wouldn’t have been as terrible

Well… the pacing didn’t make it ok. Harumi needs some time to get a proper redemption.

Also, Lloyd and Harumi should stay as friendly rivals is we see them paired up again. It would keep them on friendly terms without making them a couple.

No. Not really. Cause personally, I thought she was a terrible character to begin with.

I found her to be incredibly compelling and one of Ninjagos best villains until Crystalized. Her death and realisation that she screwed up, became the very thing she hates and cant do anything about it was devestating.

She was an unhinged girl who had an unreasonable grudge against the ninja, and had no good reason to want to kill many people all because the ninja failed to save her parents, who they didn't even know died. I feel like Lloyd pointed out the main reason her character didn't make sense: She was causing many deaths, causing people to be broken like her. I think one of the few things that made sense with Harumi was when she attacked the crystal king after learning he corrupted the devourer.

Does she love Lloyd or not? Like make up your mind already. Harumi wants peace so what does she do? She resurrects a powerful Oni Dragon hybrid warlord and has him attack a city and destroys several buildings. Wow, that’s pretty peaceful. Lloyd even calls her out on it to. At least Harumi attacking the Overlord makes sense.

@@Crusty783 Why would Harumi just bring back Garmadon knowing he would kill hundreds of people? She even suggested that he create a giant stone monster to terrorize the civilians. Lloyd himself pointed out why her plan didn't make any sense. Besides, her writing was weird. It definitely showed in her dialogue that she is only a teenager. Probably one of the most annoying villains in the show. Annoying and evil, I should add.

At the end, she realises how badly she screwed up as the product of her hatred causes her to die exactly like her parents did

@@Crusty783 The thing is, she's not as poetic or deep as characters like Walter White or Darth Vader. In fact, I find her more annoying than compelling. The writers never seemed to know what to do with her. Her fake romance with Lloyd was awful. And people overrate her, saying that she had this wonderful character story when she was only the main villain for one season, then became kinda generic in the next. Garmadon was more complicated and interesting, up until s8, which reversed all his character development. He had a satisfying conclusion in s5, so turning him back into a villain did so much damage to Ninjago's best character. Going back to harumi, her betrayal was ruined by us learning she was evil before Lloyd did. Also her screaming dramatically and acting unhinged was actually kinda funny, because it felt like an emo girl trying to get attention from her peers. And her death, with the building crumbling, tried too hard to be emotional that it actually got funny, in a really dark way. Crystalized didn't do much to improve her character, but I don't consider her a good character anyway, so that doesn't matter to me. Plus, when she betrayed the overlord, it was the only thing done with her that proved she had even one ounce of brainpower. And by the way, her "Never anything between us" quote, among others, wasn't dramatic or powerful. Just corny.

Theres a museum short that shows Dr Saunders recapping the contents of the Hall of Villany exhibit, which includes Pythor unleashing the Devourer. Even then, why would Pythor not mention it to anyone in the Council of the Crystal King? At best, that information is a bad retcon employed by Tommy after S15 dropped to try and patch up the Harumi storyline
