when i was in secondary school i do not know the important of Haruna Isola's music until i left Nigeria for London.

Sitting supremely philosophical, Ishola Elenpe has left a timeless bundle of music for his race, difficult to be equaled.

No comparison A legend in Yoruba music

Love the pitch on this one the shuffle the hurried cadence. I have always been fascinated by this man's music. Very contradictory, the pace is pretty quick with the angry yet passionate gangan drum demanding attention like a jilted lover, yet Yoruba dance it with a very slow almost bent in half shuffle, arms spread sweeping in time as if mowing with some imaginary scythe. The agidigbo (thumb piano) adds an almost trance like state (in the absence of the bass guitar or any other electric instrument for that matter) plucked in time. Then the shekere and other percussion sounds adding irrisistable flavor to an already sweet soup. There is an objectification of women that is neither misogynistic nor sexual in some of his lyrics, just reminiscent of the times. 🎶 Ishola de, a ti dosupa ni le okun imole ka ri aiye 🎶 Ishola has arrived we are the moon in the house of darkness, light encircles the world. Basically I am the baddest G in this music thing. Rest in peace Haruna Ishola Bello M.O.N., Member of the Order of the Niger (1919 - 23 July 1983) AKA Baba Gani agba!

Is it possible that some one out there can suggest a text of this and other Yoruba Legends in English. The drumming and the singing (narrations) are so profoundly beautiful that one can feel (intuit) the sanctity and profundity of their meaning.
