I really like your thinking re the dual purpose aerial Anderson plug mount makes a lot of sense. I'm flat out getting a AM/FM aerial done by 2 mechanics in the shop. Wish continued success with your harvest.

I was married to a English Woman back in the 90,s she wanted to take her Friends to Ayres Rock. I said 4.5 days of driving at a fairly hard pace and she was shocked. You truly don't get the size of the country. Unless you drive across it.

Friday night and checking out my favourite farm family, so glad you can get some of your crops off , really like your new toy Peter that is until a new toy comes along for you to play with lol 😂 , those cattle certainly look pretty good you’ll have some beautiful steaks and roasts when they fill out some more , we used to get 2 steers divided up for the farm workers but not anymore they are too expensive now and you need every cent to keep the farm working , stay safe all the best from Tassie

Hey Matt, I was just thinking with all the big equipment you operate and with all the innovations you do to keep going, you should read an excellent book called "Mover of Men and Mountains" by R.G LeTourneau... The guy who built and designed the first really big equipment, and a Christian. You won't regret it... Not a long read either.

Funny thing you calling the combines 'headers', whilst a header is only one (be it important) part of the machine. Without the threshers and sieves and all the header would be of no use (hence the word: combing several activities into one machine).Is that an Aussie thing? I'm amazed by the level of tehnical skill within the whole crew. Great video, please keep'em coming!
@DG-ne8iq
@DG-ne8iq Год назад
I've heard that before. In France we say "coupe" = cut, in Argentina plataformas =platform
@brookdalefarm7986
@brookdalefarm7986 Год назад
In Australia the early harvesters were just headers. They took the heads off and into,a bin in the back, the material was then winnowed later. The term header has just stuck and is used all around Australia.

One thing I always wondered is if you all have a lot of snakes and big spiders on the farm, and if so has anyone ever jumped in a piece of equipment and there been one in there or while your working on machines. That stuff would have me a nervous wreck 😆
@thejacksonbrothers
@thejacksonbrothers Год назад
Hardly see any actually, I did have a spider on my back today apparently though😂😂
@DG-ne8iq
@DG-ne8iq Год назад
@@thejacksonbrothers No kidding! In France just a few aspid snakes, but never found in large plains. At home they are rare and are mostly in the edges of woods, rocks, with a stream. We have trainees who came back from Australia and they told us that they could be found in the workshop! in a cistern, under a roof gutter!

Hi John, he does a lot of parts runs to town and quite a few repairs, we keep him busy👍
@scottm344
@scottm344 Год назад
Matt I got a question for. I know you did a vid about rebuilding a alternator but I was wondering something, replacing the alternator drive end bearing is that a good repair that will last or is it better to buy a new one. I don't really want to spend 150 bucks when I can get the bearing for 25 if that repair will last a decent amount of time ya know, and what else would you replace while it tore open if anything. I know your busy and if you don't have time to get back to me I totally understand, just thought I'd ask
@thejacksonbrothers
@thejacksonbrothers Год назад
Hi Scott, I would replace both bearing and brushes and maybe machine slip rings if they needed it👍 as long as there is no other damage should last a good while

@scottm344 Год назад
I truly appreciate the response. Thank you again for all the vids. As always another great one
@jefftheaussie2225
@jefftheaussie2225 Год назад
@@scottm344 You can keep an alternator going almost indefinitely by replacing bearings and brushes. Matt knows more than me and he can do a bit more than that but they are only bearings and brushes really. Main thing is to check them occasionally and blow the dust out often especially on a header. Jeff
