Just a reminder everybody, help JT out by not skipping the ads. He needs all the revenue he can get to pay for all these repairs and keep this channel going! JT you always seem to come up with “creative” ways to get stuff fixed, Farm On!

Hey JT, it's too bad the younger generations will never be able to experience the dreaded " tow of shame"!😢 Of course every friend and neighbor drives by and gives you that smirk and shake of the head. My neighbors simply ask themselves, " what is he dragging home now"? This time it's a 1965 F350 with a little dump body. Sweet!😊 Drove it home! ( mostly) Thanks for sharing!😅
I often wondered what kind of job changing those belts was. I don’t envy you one bit. But now I know how to tackle it if that ever comes up. Another great job done. And I appreciate you editing out those good words!
Hope you have a safe and prosperous harvest. I started out farming soybeans in the early eighties when they were around 4-5 dollars per bushel. I actually started out with a 69 model Massey 1100 and couple years later upgraded to a 1135 which I still own. I started out with a JD 45 round back and stepped up to a IH 615 in 1987. I was 14 when I planted my first crop in 1983. Watching your videos brings back memories. Great content!
The old saying is true with these combines, Brake one belt replace them all on that side cause its a lot easer to do. I have a JD 4400 and broke the cylinder drive belt and once I got into it I figured out real quick that they all needed changed so I spent the next week changing all the belts on both sides and I'm really glad I did it that way. Still had to have help getting everything back together under the seat and I did manage to get the pump off and made sure to anti-seize it before it went back together ! I know you had fun doing this, BTDT ! Bandit
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 There is nothing on a 4400 thats easy to work on ! LOL I have never been a big fan of the 100 series combines but when you get the chance to buy a one owner 1200 hour machine with a 213 flex head for $1000 well I can learn to run it ! The bad part is I'm a big guy and working on the 4400 is never easy to get into some of the places on it, Getting under the seat to work on it was a real fun ! LOL Bandit
I sure don’t miss those days. Dad and I had eight 860 Masseys once upon a time. If something broke, we got another machine or robbed a part to fix the one we were using. We went from that to 9860 Deere now we have an s690. 9860 burnt to the ground last wheat harvest. I understand your struggles of making old junk work. We done it for years. Keep the videos coming I look forward to them every Friday. Thanks JT
I had the shaft the variable speed pulley is mounted on brake in a Deutz 3075, machine stopped dead in the middle of the road, had to tow it 4 miles to get it to the field and I repaired it there, your video reminded me so much of that day
A few times a month I drive by a barn with an 1155 in it. The sumac has covered the barn to the point that I can just see enough grille to know it’s a Massey. Finish a few projects and I need to look into that. You seem to have fun with yours. Thanks for sharing and setting a good example for the rest of us!
I'm a new subscriber and I feel your pain. I'm an old farmboy who grew up on a 2500 acre farm into the 80's. We ran two 510's so if this happened we had a backup. One of those caught fire and we were down to one. We then got a 750, (see the Massey Ferguson loyalty) When the 750 got tired we bought a new M Gleaner. That was in 1981, back then having those digital screens was just amazing to me! Things have come a long since then. I love the way you keep the old iron running! With care and maintenance the machines built then can run and do a good job. Your videos remind me of some of the struggles we went through farming, hard times, sure. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything! Thanks!!
Hey, j t, great to see that. You got everything back up and running for now. Looking forward to your next video, keep up the great work, truly enjoy your content. Thank you
At least you can repair your Deere. Not like the new computerised stuff that only the dealer can work on. I didn’t think that I would miss the old days as much as I do. Whatever you are being paid JT it ain’t enough!! Greetings from Australia where it’s pissing down rain too.
Hmmm,,, A few days ago we got 5 or 6 inches of that white rain that doesn't run off. Daytime highs of 15F or so does stop the bugs. One thing I don't miss is the hand cleaner bath over the entire farmer tan.
@@AutoCretewhite rain!?...lol! Never heard it called that....but we have several inches of it on the ground here. You must be in "The Great White North".
@@northdakotaham1752 You guessed it, I am a Canuckistanian. I have a little (very, very small) garden shed I keep the needed has powered tool for the season. Time to swap out the lawn mower for the snow blower. Not my favoite chore. I was raised in central Alberta. If I told you what I have seen on a thermometer you would call me a liar. If our thermometer was wrong a bunch of neighbors had the same problem.
really enjoy your videos they are down to earth, just a man who enjoys big older tractors. I would really like to see you get a 9700 or TW series tractor on your farm
You know you have had combine breakdowns when you have hoses made up to go from the tow tractor to the steering cylinder and and steer the combine with your hydraulic remote. Thanks for the trip down Breakdown Memory Lane.
As a new sub and fellow Michaniac I feel your pain about the weather. The funny thing is that I was suggested by the 1155 vid and there's an 1155 up for auction locally
I have a 6600 just like that with the 329 motor. A few years ago had to tow it back to the barn. The culprit was stripped splines on the clutch drive disc almost as fun as that repair. Just subscribed JT.
That’s not a fun job! I may have to tackle the trans in this one. I’ve had a spare to put in for a year now but just keep putting it off, 2 nd and 4 th have left the party. 😉
I've got a crazy story about a guy in his combine, being pulled on the hiway, by his wife. Everytime he tried to get her to slow down, she speeds up. Before long the combine was jumping up and down, and the brim of his cowboy hat was turned up in the front. No cab. 😅 Good luck
Excellent video JT :) I remember one time of 1988 my dad was combine oats with 1968 McCormick International 105C gas motor on one rent farm and all left side belts chew up even on Clutch on left side also stuck gear too ! My dad thought belts last till grain feilds but he got fouled and was costly fix on parts on belts total of 8 them ! Then in Machinery Shed we check end season the stupid Clutch plate was done also plus throw bearings plus springs had be replaced too it was big cost $ and hours to do with 3 men skills ! Lucky we all work on spare time to and in farming is not only rain days in weather only ! But when belts went was hot summer season weather in feild and lots drinks too !
I grew up with Ferguson, international, and Allis Chalmers. All the Masseys were 70s Era. Love old iron. If it ain't red leave it in the shed!! Keep doing what ur doing!
It socks when that happens- had a belt let go on a gleaner L2 and it took out a steel hyd line for my drive- great times- glad to see you got it back together
I feel like this whole video has a theme song by White Snake!!! And here I go again on my own. Going down the only road I've ever known. Like a drifter I was born to walk alone. And I've made up my mind. I ain't wasting no more time!!!!
An impact crescent. That was hilarious!!! Are you always this calm while working on things or just when you are on camera? I enjoy all your videos. Oh, since you like vintage things, find you a 750 or 760 MF combine. Thanks for the entertainment.
😉😆😆 Wish I could have shown it working. I’ve always done it like that but I think the belts wrapped around the shaft hyper-tightened it. Gonna need a torch if I need to remove it again lol
I think it would have gone quicker and much easier if you used the appropriate magic words while you're working plus having a proper supply of nectar for motivation along side. :D I was thinking a of utilizing a jack and sure as its was raining the floor jack appears. Love your style!
Got passed by a Priest 😂, did you hear about the lady that told her husband, her or the Priest, one has to? She said she didn't even hear him when he left 😂
Damn! You got some serious mud there JT! Reminds me of home! Finished my beans early this week and now we have several inches of snow on the ground. Those same belts on my 7720 are bad also. I have new ones but everytime i start thinking about tearing into that project i find something else that needs my attention worse. Temps here are below freezing...so the bright side is, no rain! We need a heated shop!
@@jtsbarnngrill6873 I cheated on the beans JT. Knew that finishing would be tough so hired somebody to pick up a hundred acres for me. Otherwise I wouldn't be finished.
lol you are alot better at filming than me brother, I swear alot when working on stuff, the whole video would be beeeeeeeeeeepppppp beeeeeeeeeepppp if i changed that belt lol. we had a 6600 and an 8820 so I know your pain...
I start to sweat thinking about changing the drive belts out on my 7720. Usually it wipes out the electrical for the electromagnetic clutch at the same time for fun. Looks like you have more room to change it. I’ve got to think skinny and there’s no room for two of us to think skinny. I’ve done that three belt one under the seat a couple times too. It’s not fun either. Lol.
Your helper complaining about your security team! 😂 Your breakdown sure was timed as good as you could hope for. That combine is still full of rattles with all the belts out--hope it's nothing critical. Are we gonna get a transmission rebuild video this winter?
The other good news here is you don't have to worry about what your going to do with all the money your making on those beans. You have expensive combine belts to buy.
Woke up to a 20 degree morning... this after freezing fog the prior morning. Be nice to not combine corn in December... just once. Probably shouldn't bitch because we were staring down a snow storm that looks to have turned... Until it backs up....
Nothing like harvesting beans with three or four inches of snow in them! Just forget about the moisture and stop often to clean the snow out of the chaffer and sieve.
Hi . J.t. I did say on last video you pushed that throttle to far forwards. Bad luck but she back up and running. Always gone wrong when you're going well. Feeling sorry for you. But iv bin there. But on the old newholland . From Andy in uk
@jtsbarnngrill6873 if you had you might got her to the end. . L.o.l but u did get lucky. Belts only. That's a win 🏆 for me. If ever happened. But she done well. And just belts win all around.
I am sure glad to see I am not the only one when things are going good I should keep my mouth shut because something is fixing to fly apart literally 💣
