It's literally unbelievable that Dr. Hardy, Takakura, and even the _DOG_ outlived the player character 😂

I don't mind being dead, but why the elderly outlived me? Like, it's almost like I'm dead from overworking at the farm.

I find it strange that so many characters outlive the player.

I never finished the game, and im glad i didnt... Im not going to lie, this got me choked up. I cant imagine having gone through the whole game and then experiencing this firsthand

I have a theory that there's some kind of disease that runs in the family. The dad seemed to have died young too; he's already dead by the time the protagonist is 24. Maybe that family just isn't really cur out for farm life ... Also since this game is a bit dark, your character sometimes gets really depressed ... so there could be a darker meaning under it all.

Such a sad ending, I played this back in 2003 and back then i was young, I've played for over 4 months with easily 500 hours of gameplay and I slowly realise my guy was getting older and older, while my son got around the same age my guy had at the beginning of the game. This was easily my favorite game back then and I got to this ending and I was devastated over the death of my main character, I've never cried so much over a video game in my life, i was hooked to this game and to this character. The worse part is i couldn't continue to play the game afterward I was so mad and sad. lol You should try to play Rune Factory Tides of Destiny or Rune Factory 2

I loved this game when I was younger but I never had the determination to finish. So I just found out about this ending, I was sad but okay until the very last line. That's when I started crying.

I played and finished this game when I was 10 years old. I loved it very much, and invested a great amount of time into exploring all the game's potential, being sure not to skip anything. After spending a year highly invested in the little town and its characters, the ending was very sobering and left a big impact on me.

"Please watch over them with your son" At this point three generations have gone by and Celia still looks young and everyone is alive. How XD

Turns out the creator of harvest moon said this game is the closest game he want to make harvest moon he was plan to create. I forgot noticed some ending dialouge and event after you passed away will change depend on how you take care your farms and make interaction with the town people. I really get it what the creator meant he said this game is the closest harvest moon game he really want to make. A wonderfull life indeed you are not live forever so used that time wisefully maybe this is the message of the game show to you.

at last we can literally say GameOver! holy god! you played this game for 2 years buddy! god bless your hard working soul! omg! and he's gone.... well he was sick of this repetitive life anyway! now he'll go free with his father. this is how life is...you live, and you die that is all, holy god the dopamine and the relief you must feel now! WOW! no worries bro i didn't skip a single part at all! because i like this game, and i know it's the only one for the ps2, so i wanted to know how will it be like. btw if you are playing the game on ps2 there's an extra chapter called Heaven that begins now! that chapter you'll have infinite free playing time! it's endless! congratulations! for finishing it! i'm not sure if i want to see another HM game but i'll check every now and then i suppose. these games are a hell of a journey, but they are worth it! the relief bro the freaking relief! oh man! WOW! very big congratz for you! for finishing this game! ... the kid died from exhaustion and the rest of forget me not valley became immortals X;;D god damn it XD HAHAHAHA!!!! sorry i'm such a silly idiot... very great project thanks for never giving it up! it was a very long journey together and the game was great, true it lacked insanely a lot of potential and it wasted so many great ideas but still over all it was an awesome journey, thanks for staying until the very end of it.

Man, the feels. I never been AWL, but I played the crap out of AnWL (the girl version) and it had the same death scene. I cried like a baby the first time my character died. Probably one of the best ends to a game I've ever played, especially one as open ended as the Harvest Moon series can be.

I could never find it in my heart to make it to the ending. I usually start a new save file by the time my kid becomes an aggravating teenager 😂 I cry over endings like this and the emptiness over silly things stay with me for at least a month. I know, I'm just a big baby.

Also, there should be another HM or Story of Seasons game that plays over multiple years. It could also include the generation of the children to introduce the grandchildren. Also, it could be a lot more open ended. Each decision and response could effect the town and people in multiple ways. That could leave the player wanting more.

Oh god. I was not emotionally prepared for Funeral (64 Memories as its called in this game) to be played at the end. Went from "aww that's sad" to sobbing in 3 seconds. That song never fails to break me

Because you are "natural", being yourself, and please Never Ever change the way you do it, keep your broadcasting and commenting etc the way you do it now. Coz i have seen many letsplayers who turned 'bad' when they became 'famous' so i skipped watching them. Secondly I hope this hobby of yours will be never given up! There should be a donation button at your channel and i would give you some spare change for this great evenings watching games like Oceanhorn and Micromon after i come back from work, tired, i really enjoy your letsplays. i'm from Russia and as you can see my english is not that brilliant as yours, but i hope you can understand everyhting i say of course :) btw if you need some more subscribers let me know! But they all will be russian thoug, about 100-200 people may be joining your channel but i can't guarantee they all will be active though, not many russians know English on this level - i mean alot of us, russians, can read and translate, but only a few could actually understand english speech. And the Last and The Most Important thing. Please. Do more great RPGs instead of farming simulators. Thats only my opinion as a person and as a subscriber. As i grow up on games like Final Fantasy, Lunar, Chrono Cross and others, i would love to see games with good storyline, just like Oceanhorn for example. I played one game recently, it's called Mazes and Monsters, it's something between Zelda and Oceanhorn, but yeah it was made by Zelda fans. It costs just one dollar and you have to pay it later, not from the beginning, so you can try the game out for free. So yeah you can bomb walls, collect hearts, it's also action-based with blocks and keys-doors and puzzles! This game actually, has one bad thing. After 4 hours of playing, i realized that i have no clue where to go next. Well and... I just stopped. But the game is great. And as it is not too popular, i could not find any walkthroughts of it on RU-vid or anywhere else. So yeah. This is my opinion about your channel. I really hope you will at least pay some attention to this comment my friend :) Oh and btw, i've just learned Triloth! xD

I played this but I have never finished it because the PS2 version is so laggy and I was getting bored, never thought the ending was so sad huhuhu, the farm is killing anybody who runs it, first his Dad and now him... he was still young and even younger than the doctor, he left too early

The song that Griffin plays for the character's memorial is called "64 Memories" and How did you get 64 Memories to play during the credit sequence? Since in this video we clearly heard it playing in the credits. I beat the game on PS2 and I was given a different ending tune that apparently usually plays during the credits. I apologize for questioning you to pieces! LOL (That last statement was kind of a joke but I somewhat meant it sincerely. XD)

I played Harvest Moon: IAWL about a decade ago and had to stop playing because of a bug in my memory card. I was right at the beginning of the 3rd chapter and had the milking room, a star bull fully matured, a fully matured marble cow, a fully matured brown cow, a normal cow who was milked clean, her newborn baby, a fridge full of meals sushi-mi, salads, light pickles, full on meals that keep you working for half a day, and 30,000 in the bank not counting what I didn't get a chance to sell. For a Let's Play I give this an A-. I enjoyed it a lot and will continue to give you hits and likes because I was very much pleased by this Let's Play. I took away points for lack of fishing and not showing us all the cows, as for the rushing through it part, I only took partial points for that because like you said it's a long f*@#ing game and you have other things to do. Which I understand completely. You're a great Let's Player and I hope to see more.

And take your time and I'll be waiting patiently for the next Harvest Moon LP. I'll be playing along this let's play again. I have a question when the player dies at the end am I the only one who has mixed feelings, feeling bittersweet along with being emptiness yet fulfilled at the end? I remember Tree of Tranquility it was one of my first completed console Harvest Moon games. I recently played it again after a looong time of not playthrough it again, and I must say it's a lot different from what I remembered yet it just as great. Over a decade ago I played this game all the way up until the last day or two. A "friend" of mine then came over with another game he wanted to play, but I didn't have anymore space on my memory card. He made fun of me for playing this and somehow persuaded me to delete my file. To this day, it remains a constant source of regret.
