It’s a fairly common Celtic folk beat, so it’s not really surprising it crops up from time to time in a lot of different places. :p

@@DaxRaider you should see the original videos, and check out the frist few hundreds of comments. I guess it is the usual thing... Some people can't cope with it, if it is not what they would expect it to be 😊 but I think many of those initial negatives changed, since its a song that grows on you, like the harvest 😊

In NOISE (first single) shows the artificiality, vices of technology created by human, changing the perception of their environment. In HARVEST (second single) there's an invitation, a answer to technological excess, valuing bucolic life and promoting nature for better days to come. A POETIC AND INSPIRING CONNECTION!

This is when Nightwish meets Jethro Tull and this is not the first time. Troy's voice fits great with this Celtic Folk Hymn. Great harmonies and musicianship all the way. I like the versatility of the Nightwish. Keep on, boys!

To me, the song is about the cycle of life and what we do with it. "Join the harvest of hundred fields, hearty and tame" - Our lives are like fields, we have to make something of it, grow it so we add to the collective harvest "All going back to one single grain" - This cycle of life and death and passing on the produce of our lives to the next generation goes on since the beginning of time "Offer light to the coming day" - Bring something positive into the world, make it a better place for the future "Inspire a child" - Teach and pass on what you learned so that the cycle continues "Water the field, surrender to the earth" - Once you've enriched the world through your life (watering the field), you may now die in peace and make way for the next generation

We’re moving closer to the album release and when we experience the entirety of it, this song will be a connection to the Human part of Nature. We used to be more tuned in to the natural part of life and death. This song reflects that perfectly. The line, “Dance a jig at the funeral “ from the song “Elan” comes immediately to mind. Great reaction!

I love this song...it's different, yet still has the Tuomas stamp on it! Oh...the last two words of the song, "Arrive Alive!" Is the phrase that USA Agencies that advise people to get an Uber, take cab home, whatever way you can do to get home safely and don't drink and drive! I am the Designated Driver when my wife and I go out with friends. I am 23 years, 1 month, and 23 days sober, so I drive everyone home!

Enjoyed your reaction as always. Since I use a VPN service, I could change my location to Australia & listen to this song already yesterday although I live in Finland. This isn't your typical Nightwish song, but I'm happy that they evolve & try new things to challenge themselves and their fans. For me this is a great song.

If this would have been without singing it would have been another Last Of The Wild...but now it will mostly be the new I Want My Tears Back with the crowd dancing, perfect song live...I absolutely love this song. My brother playes bagpipes ( Scottish)in a Helsinki bagpipe band, so I'm really into and love bagpipes music...

That is a fast reaction from you! 😄 Tuomas has the talent to adjust his ideas perfectly to the individual singer. And this album was made with the three, Marko Floor Troy, in focus as singers. Individually and together ✌😁👌 This folk like melody... I heard it once and I had it stuck in my brain giving me good vibes throughout the day 😄

Bits of I Want My Tears Back and Walden but also a tiny bit of Noice in it, I really enjoyed this song. Happy tears during the second verse, have no idea why but had. Nice methaphores, Water the fields: Educate yourself and your children and Arrive alive: at the end of your journey you are ready and fully enlightened what ever the journey is about.

The last bit of this song reminds me of couple Sonata Arctica songs like Victoria's secret and My Selene. (And yes I know Tuomas and Tony are friends so maybe there's influence dunno :) ) I personally like Harvest and it's not the first time Nightwish has done something experimental.

Definitely gives me an AURI vibe. According to Troy, AURI probably will record another album in 2022, after the Nightwish tour is well over and they've recovered from that. Then he, Tuomas and Tuomas's wife, Johanna Kurkela may even tour a bit as well.

I've yet to work out what this is actually about... I like the song a lot as a tune but the images and lyrics within this song confuses me quite a bit. The celtic crosses appear to be tombstones which lead me to think the harvest might not be referring to an actual cutting of wheat or such but rather the cycle of life. In a similar way the line surrender to the earth, in my mind, also suggests this. Typical Toumas ... making you think about things that most music wouldn't touch... to me that is the power of Nightwish.

You guys need to listen to sabaton, swedish heavy metal band that is singing about history. Here's a few that you need to try: bismarck, primo victoria, to hell and back, the last stand and 82nd all the way. Look up live version of these all. Their drummer is actually marrid to floor jansen, the singer of nightwish.

this album is going to be cool I think as it is like they took the criticism of the previous album as being same same and well the two singles released for Human : Nature are poles apart so if the whole album takes us on a musical journey as opposed to a metal journey I for one am excited! I think it shows Tuomas embracing all the members of the band and their musical heritage. I wonder what a Kai song would be? or an Emppu song? I remember his joke about long guitar intro guitar solo and outro! Marco and Troy seem to be folk metal in their influences, Tuomas is influenced by the movie score composers...

Give it a chance. Some songs have the ability to grow on you. This one did on me. Luckily enough I don't let myself be limited by only one musical style. Nightwish does not go by labels no matter how much some fans love labeling. Just my two cents.

thats more metal and headbanging growling vocals than i can handle ...three songs so far and one is more poppish the next..why doesn't Tuomas face the fact that without Tarja his only inspiration is his wife and that's what's driving him further into the folk scene

@@ArvoR My concern is that part 2 of the new album seems to be fully instrumental, and part 1 only contains 9 vocal songs which we know now is at least one without Floor (well, she does the backing vocals). I don't like this trend.

I have already seen some criticize the sound of this song. "That's not Nightwish!" Just think if the Beatles never progressed from "Love Me Do" or "She Loves You" to "Sargent Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band" or the "White Album" or "Abbey Roads"? We have to let bands grow, progress, adapt different styles and varied sounds. Don't trap a band into sounding exactly the same 20-30 years after they formed. Just sayin'..
